Hurry! Future world closes in an hour!!!

After meeting back up at the room we headed back to Epcot to catch a few more rides and watch Illuminations. Entering the park I quickly checked my Times Guide & glanced at my watch. Oh No!!!! Today was to be devoted entirely to Future World. It says so right on my trusty 3X5 index card located in my back, right pocket. Oh No! It’s now 6:00 p.m. Future World will be closing in exactly 1 hour!

Throwing the Pre-Schooler into his stroller, we take off running. First stop, Spaceship Earth. Luckily, there is no wait at all. We exit the ride, toss the kid back into the stroller & sprint to Imagination. No line at Figment, we jumped right on. Next we head to Honey I Shrunk The kids. We walk right in & sit & sit & sit. It’s the last showing of the evening & they want to make sure everyone get’s a chance to get in. This gives me the opportunity to congratulate myself on once again providing a cooling spot for my family to relax. This is what being a Mom & Wife is all about; providing what my family needs to most.

As soon as we exit Honey I Shrunk the Kids I glance at my watch again. That’s it. Times up. Future World is now closed. One hour left until Illuminations, so we all head to the Electric Umbrella for a quick, relaxing dinner. The Pre-Schooler & Youth ordered the favorite Disney food, chicken nuggets and fries.

The Teen & I were the first to finish dinner. MagicalDad suffers from something I call “slow eating” which causes him to take twice as long to finish a meal as I do. On our vacations his “slow eating” disorder often flares up. Today was one of those days. I’ve often wondered if he uses his “slow eating” disorder as a way to gain additional resting & relaxation time, however, upon confrontation he denies it. The teen & I decided to head outside to call my Mom & fill her in on our exciting day. Well, that & the boys were being a bit too excited for me & I wanted to pretend for a few minutes that MagicalDad was a single father taking his sons on a special vacation. It’s OK, out Tshirts weren’t matching today.

Quite a while later The Youth comes out proudly showing off his new, big, chocolate chip cookie that was presented to him by an employee of the Electric Umbrella. It appears that he was cleaning off a few tables in the restaurant & was gifted the cookie for his good deed. In the perfect world his brother & sister would have congratulated him on such a job well done & we would have all skipped away, hand in hand to watch Illuminations. As you’ve noticed, my life isn’t perfect. The Teen started first “Where’s my cookie?” Followed by the Pre-Schooler “Where’s Mine Momma???” Giving up trying to explain why The Youth was awarded the cookie, we just purchases 2 more.

Following the Great Cookie Fiasco the children once again insisted that they were too tired to stay a minute longer. “Can’t we watch Illumination another night?” “Can’t we go to the pool?” they whined.

Fine, fine, fine. We shall all go to the pool while I do some laundry.

“Laundry?” My Magical Man says. “Why don’t you rest & relax with the kids in the pool while I do the laundry?”

Oh how kind of him to offer. Surely he has noticed all of my hard work in planning & providing such a wonderful trip for them & now wishes to reward me with some quiet pool time. How kind & loving my special Magical Man is.

The laundry room is right next to the quiet pool so we all walk over together. The children & I hop right in while DH heads over to the laundry room. He comments that he better stay in there with the clothes so nothing comes up missing.

Poor thing, I still can’t get over him offering to give up some relaxation time so that I can enjoy myself. How wonderful he is in there loading he washer. “Hey kids!!! This is called the quiet pool for a reason!” Where was I? Oh yes, he’s loading the washer, sorting the clothes……”Hey stop splashing those people! You hear me???” Oh yes & not to mention running the water, adding the ……..” Stop calling your sister names!” adding the detergent & fabric softener. “No running by the pool! I tell you that everyday! No running!” Anyways, it’s so kind of him to allow me this quality time with the kids while he, ummmmmm, ummmmmmmm, He loaded the washer & now he’s just going to sit there & watch it spin! Huh? So, I’m out here trying to control these 3 loud children at the quiet pool & he’s sitting in the cool laundry room quietly listening to the hum of the dryers!

Well, at least I’ll find some way to take my due credit for his relaxing laundry experience. After all, if I helped wear those dirty clothes he’s washing.

Up next, What do you mean you’re not coming with us????
