A Quickie Pre Trippie w/ Photos- Pressed Pennies, Binder, Luggage Tags- GO!

After a year of planning and waiting and shopping and DIS-ing we are finally 8 days away from our annual Disney Trip

Side note- sorry for any typos as I am literally typing this /throwing this little ditty together without my glasses on while I'm coloring my hair- gotta look gorgeous for the Mouse!

We are:

Me- a 35 year old “Psycho Disney Mom” :as affectionately referred to by my lovely DS
DH- 34 year old that goes along with my nutty planning- and loves every minute of it

DS- my 9 year old love of my life-who has already been to Disney too many times to count with his first trip at 7 months old!

Plans:

April 30th- May 10th ( we did the 4/3 deal which saved us tons!)
Beach Club Standard Room - Pixie Dust inserted here for an upgrade
Doing the regular Dining plan
With Park Hopper and water parks feature

Driving from NC- approx 9 Hours

Itinerary:

4/30 leave NC 6:00am arrive hopefully by 3:00pm the latest
Late Lunch : Beaches and Cream - Can’t Wait!
Magic Kingdom
Wishes 9:00 pm

5/1 -Friday*
Epcot – EMH 9am- Midnight*
Breakfast: Hotel or Boardwalk Bakery
Lunch: ESPN Zone
Dinner: TS Le Cellier 4:55



5/2 - Saturday*
Animal Kingdom 9-5*
Breakfast: Hotel or BS Bakery
Lunch: Flame Tree BBQ
Dinner: TS Boma AKL* 6:05*

5/3- Sunday*
Animal Kingdom/Magic Kingdom EMH 9 am- 1 am*
This day may get reorganized as DH wants to do AK at least 2 x’s- but as you can see from my meticulously planned meals fr the day this was supposed to be a MK only day!
Breakfast: CS Cap’n Cooks Tonga Toast
Lunch: ?
Dinner: TS Ohana** 5:15

5/4-* Monday
Typhoon Lagoon 10 - 5/ Mini Golf
Breakfast: Hotel
Lunch: Leaning Palms CS

Pool/ Magic Kingdom 9am-9pm*
Breakfast: Main Street Bakery

Dinner: TS 1900 Park Faire* 5:40

5/7- Thursday*
Sea World- Yes we are venturing off Dis property but DS and DH really wanted to do this so I caved!

Breakfast: TS Cape May Buffet-Goofy’s Beach Club Bash 8:45 am
Lunch: ?
Dinner: TS Raglan Road 7:30 pm

Lunch: The Plaza 1:20 pm (** Pay cash- don’t use dining plan**)
Dinner: ?* Possibly Spoodles- 7:15 to say adios to this lil gem- MY DS had his first Bambino Sangria here( no alcohol of course- sily!)


Now for the fun stuff!

Some of the goodies that will be coming along with us( sorry for the glare in the pic but my camera just would not cooperate!) :

My trip binder of course- I have tabs for each day, a little zippered pouch with all coupons, arcade card, confirmation paperwork, etc…
It is still a work in progress- will post the final product before we leave

I am also working on our Daily itinerary cards that will be printed on 3x5 index cards and I will have them laminated at our local office supply store before we leave. These will be little snap shots of each day- and will include the weather forecast, Park hours and all ADR conf #’s

Our customized Disney Maps- just came in the mail today! Woohoo!
These are gorgeous and I highly recommend everyone take advantage of this neat and rare Disney Freebie!

Reading material for the Car or poolside- One of the books “The Kingdom Keeper” I bought today was actually for my DS but I think I will be reading this poolside at Stormalong Bay-ahhhhhh

or for reading back at the hotel room in bed- while listening to Stacey in the background rambling on about “mountains, and pretzels un beer and yummy yummy yummy!” Garsh I miss that lil chickie!

I think My DS developed a crush on her last year- here he is posing with his girl!

Listening material to get us psyched up for the glorious Disney Park music!

We actually get very silly and start making up our own words to some of the words such as….see if you can get this one.....

“BAHHHHHHHHHHHH where the heck is Simba, and Pumba ….and Nala tooooooo” - ok that is the way my dorky gang and I sing the very opening line to “ The Circle of Life”

This silly singing usually happens a around hour 6 of the ride!

My fave CD is the Wishes one- I literally tear up and get goosebumps at the sound of 'Starlight, Starbright, First star I see tonight"!
And I love the Park music one- has all the goodies from all parks!



My oh so freakin cute Mickey Beach bag ( purchased on last year’s trip) with Free Earth Day Water Bottle- got today from The Disney store! ( traded 3 empty water bottles for that little green cutie)

Cute luggage tag- thanks to an incredible DIS-igner

Pal Mickey , lanyard with pins and Pal Ollie- who will not be joining us on this trip - he will be going to Grandmas which is sort of like Disney on the Deluxe Dining Plan!

I seriously could not get a pic without the dog posing- he is such a ham- and just like a little toddler- gets into everything!! But I love him to bits!!

Pressed Penny Holder- and Coin holders that have been stacked with 2 quarters , 1 penny, 2 quarters, 1 penny, etc.. that way we are ready to press a penny in a moments notice!

Ds ‘s Backpack again with cute custom luggage tag- this will hold all the wonders of a peaceful drive:

Earth Day shirt- I thought would be cute for an EPCOT day ( he has on in white also that he wore today- of course)

And there are others that I have already packed- sorry no pics but I ran out of steam- the though of unpacking just didn’t seem right!


Water bottle coozies? Insulator thingys t keep them cold- and they have straps too!
Ponchos for the token Disney Rain day!

Extra Photo Cards- I think I took over 1100 pics last year- so I need to be prepared.

And of course the Disney stuffed animals that will be making the journey with us- and we hope to find arranged in cute positions when we retire to our hotel room every night J

One more thing that I ordered but have not received yet is our Backpack.
This year I decided on the Overland Equipment Davis in the Black/Black/Dark Gray color combo. I like to take all my creature comforts with me to the parks- water, Tylenol, ponchos, hoodie cooler evenings and restaurants seem to be sooo cold- at least for me and DS.

Cant wait to get it and fill it and tag it!

That is the nice thing about driving- all of my bags are packed as they will be used on the vacation.

I just cant wait to get there- looking at the pics from last years trip gave me chills!

Start planning now because trust me it sneaks up on you! I still have some last minute things to get organized such as the itinerary cards and finish the binder- I will post pics as soon as I am done.


We used daily itinerary cards on our last trip and they really worked out well and kept us on our game plan!

I still have to pack most of our clothes once I can finish all of the laundry- ugh...

Oh I worked on the Planning Binder a bit tonight while the NHL Playoffs were on- and then did the itinerary cards- but DH threw me a curve ball and may want to change some thing around are you kidding me!!!!

My DH thinks I am crazy too but hey, that's his opinion! I am just happy to be going to Disneyworld after 10 years! I deserve to be crazy!

Itinerary cards are still a work in Progress.....
here is what happened- I hand wrote them on index cards and glued on clip art pics- showed DH and he said " wow - we upgraded to Deluxe this year and you downgraded the itinerary card!"

He totally busted me on cutting corners- but here's the yucky thing- I am sick- sore throat and all- oh and developed a bad toothache-went to the dentist and put me on anti-biotics- I sooo dont want to be in pain on vacation

So here I am lying on the couch with my laptop making new cards- so stay posted.

Also cute story- we were taking my son to hockey today and my DH was asking my DS what his favorite rides are at Disney and DS said Buzz Lightyear and Monsters Laugh Floor...then he proceeded to share with us that DH's favorites #1 is a tie between Pirates of the Caribbean and Peter Pan- isn't that sweet and then his 2nd fave is Carousel of Progress- another awwwww I love him!

Ok- I have been a little under the weather- but thank god no Swine Flu! Just a yucky cold- oh and a Root Canal as well! I am uploading pics of the itinerary cards which I will laminate tomorrow- but since I will be busy packing up the car and laptop I wont be posting tomorrow night- I'll just be counting the hours till we are on the road!

Nothing fancy, no templates- just the basic outline of each day:

I have tabs for each day of the trip, 2 zippered pouches to hold all little things such as the arcade card and itinerary cards.

we are also going to the outlets so I printed out coupons and made a tab for them.
I have a tab with the presed penny info that I got from www.allears.net
a map/layout of the hotel
In the front pocket I have our custom maps which I have not shown DS yet- he is going to love them!

I will keep this binder with me when we travel to the parks and will leave it in the car- so I can reference at any time! I also left the daily pages pretty much blank to have my DS fill in the sections such as "must see/do" etc... - should be interesting what he suggests- and then I can hang on to this as a journal of sorts as well.
