A Quick Holiday Miracle - An All Girls Trip - Dec/12 *REVIEWS finally up! 03/30*

Day 5 Part 1 - Sunday, December 16th, 2012

This morning we slept in - sort of. I had been sleeping terribly on this trip and there was a lot of snoring in our room, so I hardly got any sleep last night. I didn't think that I'd need ear plugs, so I didn't bring any. I finally decided to get up and get ready for breakfast. We went for breakfast at the Pepper Market, which I have no pictures of :( There was a bit of a line to get in, but we didn't wait too long.

The Pepper Market is interesting. It is a sit down, QS breakfast, where you have to tip a waitress. Not like the usual QS places where you get your own drinks and seat yourselves. It is buffet style, so the waitresses only seat you and bring you your drinks. Our experience here wasn't great. Our server messed up our drinks. The food wasn't very good - the eggs were bland, the fruit was warm, and the potatoes weren't fully cooked.

After breakfast, we looked around in Panchitos (again!) and then headed back to the room. I took some pictures along the way.

I spent a few minutes in the room organizing my things (I do this a lot on vacation lol). Then we put on our bathing suits and headed over to the main pool. I wanted to go to the main pool this time to get some pictures of the area in the day time. I ended up getting quite a few shots. We started off at the main deck, but then our chairs ended up in the shade and there was an overly friendly squirrel in the area (my mom is afraid of them!) so we moved over by the hot tub. Here are some of my pictures from the main pool.

CSR really is a pretty resort, and I really liked the pool area. It is a big area with a lot of chairs - although the chairs aren't as comfy as the deluxe chairs! And if you go to the pool bar to refill your mugs, you have to wait in the food line and they fill them for you - all of the other resorts I've stayed at have had a self-serve drink station at the pool area.

After this, I went back to the room to get some peace and quiet because I was tired, and tonight was MVMCP!!! It was about 12:40 at this point.

Up Next… MK and MVMCP!!

Oh man, Disney Movie Rewards is SO great! I had a similar experience with a bunch of old codes... I've gotten some wonderful stuff thanks to them! Love it!

Your pictures of CSR are so pretty! Looks like a really nice resort. Can't wait to hear about MVMCP! YAY!

More beautiful pictures of my favorite moderate resort (okay, it's the only one we've stayed at, but we do love it). :goodvibes

I can't believe the difference in a few days and the number of people in the pool. You couldn't step foot in the pool while we were there.

Sorry your breakfast wasn't all that great. We had the buffet for breakfast one morning...it was okay (not as good as other buffets).

It's always good to rest before party time. :)

I too will be rooming with a snorer/teeth grinder on this upcoming vacation (my mother). I plan on researching some comfy ear plugs to use for sure as well as bringing along some Tylenol PM! LOVE your Digsite pics and I can't wait to read about MVMCP!

Yay, DMR! CSR is a really nice resort, very pretty to walk around. I love, love, loved MVMCP, so it should be an exciting couple of updates!

Thank you for the picture love! It is the only moderate I've stayed at, so I guess at this point it has to be my favourite mod lol We were very lucky with crowds throughout our entire trip, amazing what a difference a few days can make. MVMCP was awesome, I'm excited for the updates!

I find that ear plugs bother my ears if I wear them too long, so I know what you mean about wanting to find comfy ones! Thank you for the picture love! MVMCP updates coming up soon!

I love your photos of the pool...:goodvibes I've always thought that the CSR pool looks like so much fun... kind of a riff on Chichen Itza... (which I'd love to see if I ever get to Mexico) or something out of an Indiana Jones film...:thumbsup2

Too bad about the food situ...

Owww... some MK & MVMCP coming up...popcorn::

Why you can use your Mickey Notebook for trip planning...:scratchin

I love your CSR pictures! My DH and I stayed there for one night last year before moving over to the WL for the remainder of our trip, and I had the worst migraine while I was there, that I kind of took it out on the resort! Meaning, I said I'd never stay there again, and my DH didn't like it because he said it didn't feel like Disney! :rotfl2: Looking back, I wish we had more time there, because it's so pretty, I wish we had the chance to walk around and explore, I think I'd really like it! Hopefully someday we will go back, maybe for a split stay or something!

Thanks! It is a lovely pool area, I think that they did a great job with the theming. The breakfast wasn't great, but we did eat there again on last time… I will update on how that one went! I have thought about using the notebook for planning, but I already have a planning binder, so I'm not sure lol

Thank you :) Migraines are no fun, it's too bad that it sort of ruined it for you. It doesn't quite feel like Disney to me either. Maybe because I don't usually stay there? A split stay would be nice - it isn't my favourite resort on property, but it is nice to see.

fun on the Movie codes! I just did the same thing, am missing a couple (and missing a whole movie) but it's fun to know at some point I will order something.

So sorry about the poor sleeping, that can be brutal. It's bad enough when it's ones spouse but rougher when it is someone else. I adore my mom but...can't share a room with her!

Breakfast sounds rather meh, I'm not a buffet fan and that's exactly why but I've always heard good things about Pepper Market so that's a bummer. The pool is SO cool there, my kids would love that for sure and oh, the thought of hanging in a lounger for a few hours in the sun sounds like pure bliss at the moment.

Party time soon! I hope you were able to get some rest.

I'm a bit late but I finally found my way over here from my TR!

I'm now caught up and I had a whole bunch of comments but forgot them all! :rotfl: I promise I'll get better when it's only one update.

It looks like you had a wonderful time so far!

Great update...:)

Thank you :)

I am glad that I went back online and was able to use my codes for something! If DH gets snoring, I can just kick or elbow him, but I won't do that to my mom :rotfl2: My opinion on buffets varies, but I wasn't very fond of this one. I would also love to be sitting in a lounger in the sun right now - it has been yucky and grey here the past couple of days!

:welcome: Thanks for joining in and commenting! I'm really enjoying your TR as well (although I think I have a couple of updates to catch up on - so many TR's so little time!). It was a really great trip :)

Day 5 Part 2 - Sunday, December 16th, 2012

This is the update that you have all been waiting for! :rotfl: This is the update about MVMCP! This was my very first MVMCP, so I took quite a few pictures. This is going to be a multi-part update, and I might not even get through all of MVMCP today - we will see how it goes!

So I left us off back at CSR. I managed to get a bit of a nap in - which I really needed! Then I got up and finished getting ready to go to the party. Then my mom and I went to the CSR lobby to get our boarding passes printed (so sad, this trip was much too quick!). They looked at us like we were a bit crazy because we got there early for our flight, but we ended up in boarding group A so mission accomplished! We took our passes back to the room and then the 4 of us went to the bus stop to get a bus to MK! We got on the bus at about 3pm.

We were obviously at MK early for the party, but we figured we would line up and hope to be let in at 4, like usual. We were one of the first groups in line! There were CM's at the turnstiles and they were great - getting the groups all excited for the party! Of course, we ended up behind a family whose tickets weren't working but they refused to listen to the CM and move and they held up 2 whole lines! Finally a CM made them move so that they could figure it out. It was still really early, so the time didn't annoy me, but the fact that they were refusing to move and holding up 2 (!!) lines - you don't need 2 lines. We ended up getting in the park at 3:30! We got our party bracelets and headed into the party.

We went over to Tomorrowland and rode Stitch, Buzz, and Space Mountain. By this time it was about 4:30pm and we had reservations for the Plaza at 4:50pm.

DSCN0361_zpsb93917c3.jpg

We went over to the Plaza and checked in with a great CM! There was a family (who was foreign and having difficulties with english, the menu and how the dining plan worked) so this other CM helped us to register while they were figuring that out. We requested a window seat, if it was possible. They gave us a beeper and said that it may be a bit of a wait - no problem for us!

I took a couple of pictures while we waited. It is so cute!

We didn't have to wait long before our beeper went off and we were taken to our table. And here is our view!
DSCN0363_zps64d49bdd.jpg

Our server was named Deborah and she was fantastic. Really fun and really efficient. She had to deal with the aforementioned family who turned out to be a bit nasty in the restaurant. The one man was yelling quite loudly (and it is small in there) that he wanted things faster and they were in a hurry.

Some more pictures inside the restaurant

I ordered
Vegetarian Sandwich - fresh mozzarella, hummus, basil pesto, cucumber, roasted red pepper, tomato, and lettuce on a freshly baked foccaccia $10.99

It was delicious!! Way more than I could eat though, I think that I only ate half of the sandwich. It was really fresh. I know that Jess got the cheesesteak sandwich, but I can't remember what my mom or grandma ordered. Everyone really enjoyed their meals though.

By the time we were finished dinner, which really wasn't a long time, it was already dark outside! Time to get the party started!

We watched as they lit up the castle (and I cried again). It is so beautiful!! I managed to get one decent picture through it all lol
DSCN0382_zpsf2413974.jpg

We then walked straight over to Splash Mountain. The Seven Dwarves were going to be coming out at 7pm when the party started. This is something that we all really wanted to do, so we made sure to get there early. We got into a line of people waiting, but we weren't too far down the line - it was a good thing that we went as early as we did because it was getting busy! There were CM's there working on crowd control, and they were fantastic! They were telling jokes and having fun, and if someone was even in the area with a camera, they checked for a wrist band (many people were told that they had to leave the area because they didn't have one). I'm glad that they did this because seeing the Seven Dwarves is such a rare thing.

While we were waiting, I took this picture of Grumpy

Here is our picture with the Dwarves!
IMG_1370_zpsff351eca.jpg

As with the rest of the trip, we didn't really have an actual plan. We just sort of went wherever we felt like going, and stopped if there was something that struck our eye.

During this time, we did things in Frontierland, Fantasyland (I wrote that the Winnie the Pooh line was messed up, but I can't remember what that means :rotfl2:) and Adventureland.

I hadn't done the Swiss Family Treehouse in years, so Jess and I decided to go through. This is the only part that I have pictures of, and they didn't turn out very well.

Mom and grandma really wanted to buy a party shirt, so we did a little bit of backtracking to find one. Most stores were already sold out, and this was one of the last parties. They did end up finding them though.

DSCN0399_zps667df60b.jpg

After this, we decided to get in line early for the 10:30 parade. We got a nice spot on the curb on Main Street, and then took turns sitting there. I took the first turn sitting. When my mom came back, I went to one of the stores nearby and bought DH a sweater. I had been eyeing it up all trip and I kept going back and forth over whether he would like it or not, but in the end, I decided to just buy it. I was also going to get a Stitch mug engraved for my little brother but they were all sold out of Stitch :(

Up Next& MVMCP parade!

Yay for party time!

Your dinner at Plaza sounds so nice. I'm eating there next month for the first time and I'm really excited. Other than Casey's I've never eaten on Main Street.

Cute picture with the Dwarfs. It looks like one of them is trying to take a nap on your Mom's shoulder. Is that Sleepy? :rotfl:

Can't wait to see pictures of the parade.

What a great start to your party night (well, except for the ignorant ones in front of you in line).

I'm so glad you enjoyed The Plaza; we love that place and it is always our last meal of our annual trip.

Great photo with the Seven Dwarfs. That is one thing I want to do this year if we do the party again. We saw none of the characters except Mickey & Minnie, and I'd really like to have Mark standing next to Grumpy.

It was a great dinner, I hope that you like it there as well! That was my first time eating there as well. We were really happy to get a picture with the Dwarves, I'm not sure what's going on with him, but I'd say that has to be Sleepy lol

Thanks! What a great tradition you have! This was our first time eating there, but we really enjoyed it so I am sure that we will eat there again. I also really wanted to get a picture with Scrooge, but by the time we made it over to him he had a long line and we just didn't feel like waiting.

I love the pic of you all with the Seven Dwarfs! I ate at The Plaza on my last trip! The food was excellent but our server lacked personality. Overall though we enjoyed it and I had the dessert that your cousin had as well! I couldn't even get through half of it!
