A question for female Disboarders, have you turned down a date before because the asker was bald? I have a friend who recently got a “Lex Luther” style hair cut because he was loosing his hair in awkward spots on his head. No one seems to mind in the workplace and he always keeps a business professional look but he has lately become a little insecure when it comes to his dating life. He said, he was always partly confident when asking a woman out due to things like his nice hair and well kept appearance. I told told him that most genuine women look beyond little things like hair but it’s clear that his confidence has been shaken a little. So I’m curious female Disboarders, in all honestly how much does hair matter when getting asked out for a date? Thanks in advance for your responses. :-) 💈

No, I dated guys that were balding in college. Good personality and humor always comes before hair.

Although I cannot stand the comb over or comb forward. Own being bald, nobody is fooled into thinking you have a full head of hair. As Elaine on Seinfeld said, "hanging on to scraps" isn't a good look.

I've never been asked out by a bald guy--they've all been long-haired goths, Mohawked punks, or 50s James Dean types. But I wouldn't hesitate to go out with anyone because of their hair or lack thereof. If compatibility is otherwise there, only the most shallow woman would turn him down because he shaved his head.

When I was in college I did once because I thought the person asking was lying about his age. I was 18 & he said he was 19 but the hairline didn't match anyone I knew. Thinking on it more he was also a bit aggressive, so he wasn't behaving with the confidence of guys my own age, if that makes sense.

Many many years ago I had some dates with a guy in his 20's who had alopecia (completely bald). He was really nice but just wasn't meant to be, nothing to do with his lack of hair. I think there are a lot of bald guys out there, shouldn't be a problem.

My hubs and I are high school sweethearts, and he has the genes for early hairloss. I find bald to be sexy so suggested he shave it all off. That was 15 years ago right before our youngest was born, and he definitely has rocked the look since then without looking back! Many balding friends/family members have followed his example, and we’ve watched his brother go through some really awkward phases with his hairloss.🫣 Bald is beautiful (IMO). 🤩

No, but I don't remember anybody bald ever asking me out, either. I did decline guys that I didn't find physically attractive for whatever reason but bald wouldn't have been a deal-breaker. I'd be more repelled by too much hair than too little (hate long hair or a shaggy beard).
