A question about when rides/gift shops close...

I have recenty upgraded to a smart phone and promptly got Mousewait and was checking out the wait times for rides and saw that many of them were closed last night around 8pm or so when I checked. We will be in DL in a few weeks, so I've been playing around with the app to get used to it. I'm not sure what time the park closed last night, but I was wondering- are all of the rides open until the park closes or do certain ones only stay open until dark, etc? Also, another question I was wondering- are all the gift shops open until the park closes? I want to wait until later in the day/night to look at larger souvenirs that I don't want to carry around all day. I know that you can send them somewhere and pick them up at the end of the day, but I'd rather not do that, really. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Tom Sawyer island closes early and Toontown does when there are fireworks (not sure on nonfirework nights). Most everything else should be open in Disneyland. Some rides close early in DCA due to WOC.

you can get in line right up until closing. Shops stay open until closing, main street stays open for an extra hour for shopping unless there is a party afterwards.

The rides in Fantasyland shut down during the fireworks and then reopen on the nights that the park is open late. (at least that was what happened when we where there a month ago). As long as you are in line for a ride when the park officially closes, they will let you ride the ride after the official closing.

The Mark Twain and Columbia (if it's running) also shut down early if there is Fantasmic (not sure about nights when there isn't a show).
