Hi all:

So my first trip as a DVC owner is coming up 3/8-3/11. We have a 2 BR at SSR lined up. We are not planning on going into parks, just shopping, eating, swimming, lounging, etc.

I have two boys, 4 years and 2 years, who both love digging. I see from the SSR map that there are only 2 playgrounds, do either of the playground areas at SSR have a digging area, like a sandbox?

Thanks!

Adam

We stayed in the Congress Park area of Saratoga this past December with our two grandsons 4 & 2. The CP playground did not have a sandbox area (not sure about the other one). Our two boys really enjoyed the playground area though - also loved playing in the frog water fountains that surround the CP pool! If you have time or it's a rainy day, you might want to try the Community Room (next to the main pool) - toys, puzzles, coloring activities, ping pong table, etc.

Have a wonderful vacation!

No, I don't remember sandboxes at either playground. They have that artificial gravel that soaks up water and is less slippery yet soft on the heads.

The playgrounds have climbing walls, slides, jungle gyms, etc.

One thing that never fails for boys. Take them over to LegoLand and let them build at the building stations. My 6 & 8 yo nephews had to be dragged away from the place.

Or just suit up and take them to the HRS and Grandstand pools. HRS has a kiddie slide as well as zero entry and a Donald Duck water play area. Grandstand has a waterplay area with water guns.

The nearest sand pit that I remember is the main pool at OKW. They have a big sandlot behind the main pool.
