A PTR for Princesses of all ages...2 days to go.. will I ever be ready??

I thought it might be a good time to review and get your thoughts on our touring plans.

Day One…. Arrival day.

Our flight doesn’t land in Orlando until after 5pm. So my thought for today is to just get ourselves to the hotel and relax. Because we have an age difference of about 40 years from youngest to oldest we might have some members of our group who are a little tired… ME.. IT WILL BE ME….:scared1: While I fall into the middle of this age group I know I will be stressed about everyone driving to the airport …. We are each an hour away in different directions…. Getting everyone and all their stuff onto the plane…. One has a sleep apnea machine:confused3 , DD packs a suitcase larger than her, etc….:rotfl2:

Here is how Dmom and DAunt traveled the last time we went on our girls only trip... boy they would kill me if they saw this...:rotfl:

Then there will be the challenge of getting them to Magical Express and past all f those gift shops… not that they will buy anything mind you… but ALL of us love to shop…. FOCUS LADIES… that is what I will have to tell them. So I am assuming we will successfully make it to Magical Express and on our way to POR…. My plan is to go to check in myself… I have done it many of times.. it will give them the opportunity to walk around a little. I have request building 14, first floor. My DMom has cancer many years back and as a result of her many surgeries and treatments retains excessive fluid on the left side of her body… her leg doesn’t bend… so stairs are tough for her… I am hoping the nice folks at POR fulfill our request.

Here is a photo of us from our last Girls Only Trip...

So let me review….
AIRPLANE … check
Getting thru Airport… check..
Magical Express…. Check
Arrival and check in…check

Next we will find our way to our room:woohoo: … I am excited to see the grounds at POR because of all the wonderful reviews…. The room dilemia…. I had suggested two rooms to my traveling party… they however all wanted to be together…. Even though we are paying the extra $15 per night for extra adults…. So here is what we have…. Two ladies who sleep alone ( my Mom is divorced and my aunt and uncle sleep in separate beds), my DD who sleeps alone (at least I hope she does).. then DFriend and I who sleep with our husbands… so there are 2 double beds and a trundle… DD is tiny so she will get the trundle… what about the ladies used to sleeping alone… well I guess they will have to suck it up and sleep with each other….

I have suggested to my traveling companions to pack a swim suit and change of clothes in their carry on bags…. So after we get checked into our rooms we will probably go to the food court for some dinner and then a swim. I was thinking if we aren’t to tired (me mostly) that we might take the boat over to Downtown Disney.

That’s it for day one…. Arrival day…. Any thoughts????

Sounds good to me hmm can I join you I will bring my sleeping bag LOL

I think that wandering around the resort or DTD is a great way to get your "Disney Groove" the first night. Not too tiring but really makes it real that you are there.:cool1:

Great plan!:thumbsup2 It's a realistic way to do it, especially since you're getting in late that day and you can relax and just unwind from traveling. DTD is a great way to start you vacay, that's what we usually do, too!!! Laughed outloud when I saw the pic of your Mom and friend sleeping on the place, too funny!!:lmao: They know how to travel!! LOL!!:rotfl:

Thats my mom and aunt... both of who are along for this trip.... the way they like to travel is for me to do all the planning and then they send me a check... works for me... guess I am a bit of a control freak... or obsessive planner... either way they like and I do too!!

Sure you can... tons of floor space!!!!:lmao:

Loving your pics! DTD is always our 1st stop of any trip, and staying at PO you can just hop on the boat. Maybe a fun casual dinner and shopping... oh and don't forget sweets! Ghirerdellis and Goofy's side by side is a wonderful combo!

I really like that bathing suit from JC penny's.. might have to go check that out! Looks like a fun trip!;)

I love the fact you can use a snack credit at Goofy's......

I was excited to get a new suit... I have lost 52 lbs since Dec 5th and was in need of one... when we were at CBR in January my suit was border line offensive because it was falling off:lmao:

I happened to get to JC Penneys on a day that the suits were on sale and they were have $10 off a purchase of $50... the whole suit ended up costing around $50... I also liked the fact I could buy one size for the bottom and one for the top..

Just hopping in. . .the picks of them sleeping on the plane are just in good fun. HMMM. . .I think I'll catch my friend Gillian like that on the way home. No way she'll be like that on the way there.

Love the goody bags and lanyards. I took your idea about the lanyards/goody bag. My friend has never been, so I'm gonna make her a little goody bag with a t-shirt, some stickers, and maybe make an autograph book for her. She's gonna be the biggest kid of the five of us there, having never been.

Great PTR! This is why I love reading other PTRs. . .gives me ideas for what I need to do. . .

Hey there fellow snowbird! Totally bummed we will miss each other by a day . However I am hear to plan with you!

YEAH!!! A Snowbird..... we will have to come up with a name for ourselves for May travelers...

a nick name is something we should definatly think about! I am almost exactly two months away! i can't wait to be going! I need a vacation!

Oh, my, and you're from Syracuse! DH's family lives near Dansville.

I know Dansville... I did my undergradutate studies at SUNY Geneseo... and took some classes at SUNY Alfred. We live about 20 minutes north of Syracuse now... but I grew up ny Niagara Falls / Buffalo area in a town called Lockport.....

Cool! I've been to the WalMart in Geneseo. His uncle actually lives in Mt. Morris. Most of the family lives in Geneseo.

DD is on her way to Geneseo right now... that is where her DBoyfriend goes to school.... I loved it there... love the small town atmosphere!!! When I was attending Geneseo there wasn't anything past the Burger King... now there are all kinds of stores...

how is your planning goin? mine is alright, trying to decide on a tour to go on while we are there. I am also thinking of ordering something special for my FMIL since we will be there with them on Mothers day.

Since I have two months left before our trip and all of our ADRs are made and we have picked our park destinations I am continuing to send along trivia to my travel companions.....

Todays trivia email to my travel companions was about Epcot and its icon... Spaceship Earth.... I happen to love this attraction... for a couple of reasons. First it is relaxing... there is usually not a line... and everytime I ride it I see something new....

so here is todays email...

67 days until our Disney trip.... some little know facts about the icon Spaceship Earth in Epcot!!!

What exactly is Spaceship Earth? - A geodesic dome, a geosphere, a giant golf ball?....
Actually, although it was originally conceived as a geodesic dome, Spaceship Earth was eventually is technically the world's first geodesic sphere, since it is a full (although slightly uneven) circle.
If Spaceship Earth were a golf ball, the person hitting the ball would have to be approximately 1.2 miles tall (using the correct scale). The hole he would be shooting for would have to be about 417 feet in diameter. If the person was playing on the equivalent of a 200 yard hole, it would have to be nearly 134 miles long - approximately the width of Florida . FORE!!!

We have done a few tours... Segway in Epcot and Keys to the Kingdom in the Magic Kingdom... they were tons of fun!! Let me know if you want to know about them....

So this is totally off Disney topic but is stressing me out today.... DS is a sophomore in high school... we found out last night that he has been selected to play Varsity baseball instead of JV... good for him... he works very hard and deserves it... not having played varsity before we found out this morning from the coach that the team goes to Myrtle Beach for a tournament... EASTER WEEK... and we are responsible for getting him there.... I have NEVER been to Myrtle Beach.... did you know that if you search hotels there are about 8 zillion of them.... and I only have 4 weeks to figure this all out....
