Day 7 - November 12
Last day at the parks...time flew. I originally wanted to go back to Epcot for half the day, but majority rules. We slept in a little bit, ate breakfast at the Food Court and headed over to Magic Kingdom. It was packed! We went on a few rides, but most of the lines were 30-45 minutes long. We got Fastpasses for Space Mountain, but when we returned the ride had broken down and was closed temporarily. We decided to go back to the resort for awhile in the afternoon so the girls could go swimming.
We had dinner PS for Crystal Palace so we got ready to go back to MK and spend our last night there. DSis and I got our souvenirs together & thought wed go down to the gift shop to ship them back home via UPS. This was the first bad encounter we had with a CM. She was an elderly lady working in the gift shop and she was not nice at all. It seemed to be a bother to her that we wanted to send our items home. She started writing all the information down (UPC codes, prices, descriptions, etc). Two of the items that were purchased at the Lego store did not have the prices on them. She told us we couldnt ship them without her knowing the price. Since we had PS for Crystal Palace DSis asked her if she could set the stuff aside until we came back from our dinner. She got very sarcastic with us, which was very uncalled for, and told us that she couldnt do that. She continued writing up the rest of the items and when she was finished, she told DSis that she could put the items aside if she wanted to go back to the room to get her receipts. All the while this lady knew we had PS & were running very, very close to being late. She did not care one bit. DSis literally ran back to the room for her receipts and ran back to the gift shop. I mentioned once again about our PS and would you believe this woman stood there talking casually with another employee while we were waiting for her to finish up our shipment. She showed us no consideration at all! We were furious.
So, we rushed over to MK and thankfully made it on time for our PS. The kids loved having dinner with Pooh & friends. Eeyore was hilarious. He kept sneaking up behind people and scaring them. He snuck up behind DH and DSis & stuck his head between the two of them and they didnt even know it at first. They both practically jumped out of their seats when they saw him. DDF was proposed to by Eeyore. He gave her a hug & literally got down on one knee & took her hand as if he was proposing to her. Just about the whole side of our restaurant clapped. She was so embarrassed, but it was so cute. By the time we were finished with our dinner, Wishes had already started.
The kids werent interested in staying to watch them again, so we left to go back to our room. As we were leaving the park, walking up to the monorail, I looked down at DD5 and she was crying. When I asked her what was wrong, she asked Arent we ever, ever coming back to Disney World ever again? The tears were rolling down her face! As DH and I were trying to comfort her and assure her that , yes, we will visit Disney World again, we looked over at DSis and she, too, was crying! This cute little 5 year old blond girl can really tug at your heartstrings. So, it was a quiet ride back to the room with the realization that after a year of planning and anticipation, the trip was coming to an end.
This was the best birthday I ever could have had and I am so thankful that I got to experience the Magic of Disney through my daughters eyes. I will never forget it.
