I am a diet Coke-a-holic so my money saving tip is to bring an ice chest and get 12 pks to put on ice. My DH and I like a cold beer at the end of the day so we also buy that off property. We take water with us to the parks with the flavor packs and that even saves snack credits. I limit souvenirs to one per person, so I make sure I look at several places before I make a purchase and I encourage the rest of my crew to do the same. I have the most beautiful picture frame from our May trip and I am so glad I didn't give in and buy the first one I saw. Also, there are so many FREE souvenirs you can get, like buttons for birthday, first trip, anniversary so forth. Since we have APs we can get discounts on some food, but since we are going on free dining I will use my Tables in Wonderland care to get any adult beverages we want. We also stay in a value resort or off property. There are several places you can share snacks and save the extra credits, the ice cream shoppe on Main street has an ice cream cookie sandwich that is more than enough for two people and a school bread can even go for three if you use it for just a snack. Saving money during the year is harder, but I save all change and at the end of the year it is a pretty good savings, it at least buys gas. We usually eat breakfast in the room, with a few exceptions. I learned that we don't have to rent a fridge if we take our ice chest.

I hope some of this helps. It really feels like I was rambling more than giving information.

i apologize to everyone for not updating earlier my head is killing me!! I think the stress of Josh working horribly long hours is getting to me too!! Its hard keeping up with the house, and 2 dogs myself-- and i am OCD with things being neat and in order LOL!! well tonight i got some chores done, a delicious dinner made-- now its time to play

this post is going to be about different disney traditions -- i love hearing about each tradition everyone has-- this post is a spin off from the post i started back in June on the theme park boards http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2210712

some of mine are as follows:
~ first park is always MK
~ also have to eat lunch at Pecos bills
~ Also have to have dinner at liberty tree tavern first day
~ we have to ride Pirates of the carribean first
~ epcot we always go on spaceship earth first
~ have to also get Josh a eggroll from the counter service stand in china-- i think its called the lotus?
~ we always share nachos from Catina San Angel
~ at Animal Kingdom we always get one of those re- fillable cups that you can re fill for like a dollar that comes with the big plastic animal head
~ always have to eat lunch at flame tree
~we also go on a hunt for new disney fleece blankets-- i think i have 4 by now and use one every night LOL
~ I collect the little plastic cups that have the glitter in them LOL and we always go on a hunt for new cups
~I always have to get a few new christmas tree ornaments each year
~have to stop a ghiradelli for at least something small and i love getting the free chocolate samples they give you
~ I also have to get a picture for the snowman in Hollywood studios LOL

this are just a few of mine post some of your traditions that your family has started that you hold dear to your heart and is something you do every year-- and/or your a special disney experience that has touched your heart and made you think " this is magical" I am curious to what everyone has to say-- dont be shy

And now for some good news my mom and I am thinking of taking my grandma to disney dec 5-9th-- the free dinning for the quick service meal plan is being offered to the disney visa card holders and being that we are doing the regular dinning in sept -- and that the dec trip would be short-- the quick service dinning works perfect!!! I think we are going to look into this a little more this weekend I am going to tell Josh it can be my Christmas present I just want to experience disney during the holidays and i am thinking that the 5-9th might be decent dates to do because its right after turkey day-- and a little before Christmas-- I will keep everyone updated on what we decide for sure

Oh I hope you're feeling better! Oh I hope you get to go in December! Have you every been during Christmas (sorry I can't remember if you've already mentioned that!) Keep us updated on if you're going to know or not! Hmm some of our traditions, well I don't have any with Ian yet (I hope to start some this trip!) but with my family there's:

MK is always the first park!

wow today was one of those " off " kinda days LOL-- First of all last night i was getting a bad migraine-- and feel asleep though i would sleep it off-- while i have been so exhausted yesterday-- and Josh has been so exhausted lately-- that i sleep in past my alarm clock!!! So-- Josh woke me up at 6:15 AM my bus comes at 6am so i already missed that-- and i have to be at work at 7-- so with hitting morning rush hour-- i was not making it-- So i said to him well you are actaully off today-- so why don't i just call off? So I did i know i am bad but just really really needed a day-- so then thats when the phone calls started-- from 8:30am till 6:00pm today his phone rang off the hook all day with his employess asking him questions about this and that UGH!!! my poor DH was about to have a panic attack he actually had to get ready and run into for about a hour-- so i got my shower, and got ready for the day-- then when he came back his phone starting ring off the hook again-- some customer wanted her items delivered ASAP-- and one of the delivery trucks at his work and being repaired so they only have one and they are trying to get this all done-- and they had to tell her that she had to wait-- well the lady told one of Joshs employees that they wanted Joshs address right now and she wanted to come to our house and flip out on Josh ( this is just the mild crap his has to deal with at his job ), Josh then had to call his boss and tell him that this lady was given threats to his employess and trying to get his address -- people in this world are crazy !!! so finally he deals with all this crap and mind you this is on his day off!!! ugh!!! So we go to the mall for a nice afternoon out-- on the way to the mall i called my granny to ask her how she was feeling-- she was sick last night-- with side and back pain and severe fatigue-- she said she was feeling ok that she had to go to the hospital for a test and was on her way so i told her call me as soon as that was done. So we continue our shopping!! then Joshs phone starts ringing again--- mor questions as this point i could not believe what was going on and could sense his frustration and i was trying to take his mind off of work ---i starting asking him were he wanted to eat LOL!! but that wasnt even working he said he was going to go look in the steelers store and just take a walk-- so I decided to go to Charlotte Russe to see what they had on sale-- and i found a really cut red flowly tank top for $ 4.96!! what a deal Then i was on my way to American Eagle and a strange number was calling my cell phone so I let Josh answer it-- and it was my mom she was calling from the hospital-- they are keeping my granny overnight They want to do more test i just to make sure-- they think it might be Hydal Hernia ( sorry i cant spell LOL ) but they want to make sure its nothing heart related! Please keep her in your prayers!! So now at this point me and Josh were both stressed!!! I did find 3 cute shirts at AE though-- here are pics of 2 of them the other one could not find online

after i got the shirts-- i starting feeling soo dizzy!! so we decided to leave the mall cause we were all so stressed out-- and Josh had to stop at a gas station to get me a diet iced tea! I guzzled that down and starting feeling a little better but i needed food because i didnt eat all day-- so we decided to get KFC! I was a little over my points today with KFC but i was soo stressed it was worth it LOL i will be back on track tomorrow and i only went over by a few!

oh-- we also found tennis shoes at the mall that we both wanted But Josh said we will get them right before we leave-- There were also 2 other shirts at AE that i wanted-- but i will get them before i leave i want them to go on sale because they were 30.00 a shirt and i can't imagine spending that much on 2 shirts!!!

i would love to go in Dec i am really really hoping it works out I did get a few shirts today I wanted so much more!! but want some things to go on sale a little more before i buy them LOL i am cheap like that Aww thats sad that your parents arent going to disney this year-- i am sure you will miss them But you and your DBF will have soo much fun!! i know tell me about it!! they need to get it together and fast LOL Josh said they are just going to have to deal with it-- and his boss might run his store that week so no problems occur! It was driving me i was about to yank the phone out of his hand and scream into the phone leave him alone but i am too nice to do that LOL!! but god help me i wanted too!! He might get the extra help soon the are hiring 2 more people and he might get a assistant manager before we do to disney-- i told Josh he can call them once a day and check up on them then thats it and the phone gets turned off!! I wanted to do there bad just mostly for the experience-- so i was looking tonight on the online dinnning reservations-- and found a ADR for sci-fi for a table for 2 at 11:15am!!! now this is a early lunch-- because we have a ADR for mama melrose at 5:55pm-- but i think we are just going to get appeptizers i think we might share the onion rings, and artichoke dip I really just want to experience this place!!

i mean look how fun this place looks?? LOL it is wrong of me for making a ADR if i am only getting appies? i hope not


Also my new amika came today for those of you that missed my review on the amika before its the best hair straightener ever!!! I had one but DH dropped it on our ceramic bathroom floor and the plate cracked!! this is the new one that i got

i love it soo much and would HIGHLY recommend it!!


another update on my poor granny she was not feeling good and had to go to the hospital yesterday-- here is looks like she might need her gall bladder removed-- i feel soo bad for her-- but i am glad they figured out what was wrong-- she is talking to a surgeon tomorrow-- i hope thats it will be quick and painless for her!! but i am glad that it will make her feel better!!
