A pregnant mama, Mr. Crazypants, and Ga-Gae celebrate Epcots 30th! TR LINK-10/16!

I can't wait to see pics from Everett's first MNSSHP! He is going to have so much fun!! :woohoo: Seems like, if you can keep them up late enough to hit that "second wind," you can end up with a perfectly happy child until quite late. :thumbsup2

Can't believe how fast your trip is coming up!

Yeah... I wouldn't feel like too much of an idiot walking up to a store that is closed on a Wednesday. Who would ever really expect that to be the one day it is closed??? :lmao::rotfl2:

I think the plans look great. I hope the pictures go as smoothly and painlessly as possible. I think that is exciting that Everett is getting into all of the Halloween stuff, so the Halloween party should be a lot of fun for both of you.

Wow! Your pin knowledge is amazing! Glad to learn a few tips about ebay pins.. I have been nervous to buy any from there in fear of the fakes! We became completely addicted to pins on the last trip! We have yet to trade because we bought so many we fell in love with. I will have to scour ebay now for authentic pins we wont mind trading. Thank you for the tips!

I think 830 is a perfect time for pictures. We had our shoot around 10 and by the end we were completely over it. Especially the kids. We were all hot and sweaty and in need of Mickey Ice Cream Bar!

I hope Everett comes around to the idea of costumes. Capt Hook is a awesome costume idea. I am looking forward to reading about your time at MNSSHP. We have yet to try it and have it as a must do next fall.

Liberty Tree Tavern is definitely one of the best dining options at MK!

I'm hoping he has a really good time. He loves parades and fireworks, so I'm thinking it will be a no-brainer (as long as we can avoid any meltdowns!). I have always been a little bit of a schedule nazi with him, so its nice to know that he can be flexible and stay up late every once and a while with no real problems.

Glad I'm not the only one- I can understand Sunday, maybe even Monday, but Wednesday? :confused3

Thank you for the good wishes for smoothing sailing at the photo shoot, although it may take divine intervention to get good photos of Everett! :rotfl:

If you are looking to buy some off of ebay, I'd be more than happy to help you find some good lots. Just let me know when you are looking to purchase and I'll help you out. There are good pins out there, you just have to know what to look for.

Everett is at his best (behavior-wise) in the morning when he is well rested, so I'll have that working in my favor as well.

I can't wait to let you all know how MNSSHP went, you guys really have to try it next fall, it is awesome! :thumbsup2

*note- I actually used my own photos for this update, and it really is pathetic how few photos I actually have of Disney!

More stroller drama!

So I went back to the store I thought carried the g-luxe (you know, the one closed on Wednesday!), and as it turns out they only carry the full sized uppa baby stroller and not the umbrella version.

So I went back to the drawing board and found another retailer that carried the stroller, but just to be on the safe side I called before I drove down there. Good thing because they are back ordered and are not getting any in until next week. I had no idea purchasing a stroller would be so complicated! I probably should have done this months ago.

Well I guess I'll go during the week next week and see what happens, otherwise I'm going to just take my full sized vista.

I happier news we are now less than a month to go! :yay: Of course this now means I might have to start thinking about packing (yuck! ) or at least what I need to buy before we head out on our adventure.

We are good with clothes, but I do have to pick up some little things at target like travel wipes (since my dreams of having Everett potty trained before Disney look like they are not coming true) and more purell, maybe some more sunscreen? I better make a list! :)

I also figured I can update you guys on what will be going down on day 5 of our adventure!

Saturday Sept 29th!

This morning is a real wildcard, because I have no idea how late we are going to make it at MNSSHP. I'm doubting that he'll sleep all that late (even the night he stayed up until 10:30, he only slept to a whopping 7:20 am  ), but a girl can dream. :rotfl:

If he does wake up early, we'll go get a small breakfast at Contempo cafe and then likely head to the pool for an hour or so. Otherwise we'll just tough it out until our late breakfast/early lunch ADR at Chef Mickey's at 11:15.

Everett's 1st Chef Mickey's meal at 4 months old!

If I'm tired and don't feel like shelping down to the pool, maybe we'll just ride the monorail around a few times. Everett would love that just as much (maybe even more ) than pool time.

After our "brunch" we'll head over to the MK for more ride time! We'll start out in Adventureland- grabbing FPs for my fav- the Jungle cruise,

and again at 2 years 1 month :)

and then hitting up Tiki room

and Pirates!

We'll probably also give the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse a try, I think Everett would think it was cool, and he is big enough that he could do all the walking and I wouldn't have to carry him.

after that he'll likely be ready to settle down for a nap (if he didn't crash out already!) and I'll pin trade or spend more time defending the MK from villians by playing SotMK.

Once nap time is over, I'd like to take Everett over for another first, and let him romp around Tom Sawyer Island. I think he would really like the trails and the fort and the caves!

I'm sure that it will become a real favorite in the future, and Mark and I can sit back at (what used to be) Aunt Polly's and let our two boys have adventures across the island. Its too bad Aunt Polly's still doesn't serve food or ice cream, my parents used to always hang out there and let my brothers and I have the run of the island. With the strict instruction of "no boarding the boat", of course. We were also always told to be good, but that was not always the case. :rolleyes1

We have no ADRs planned for dinner, so maybe we'll go to CHH or Pecos Bills?

GoodEats.jpg

After dinner I'd like to take a ride on HM,

and then take a look at what might have shortish lines (philharmagic maybe? the carousel? the TTA?)

To cap off the evening we'll be watching MSEP (have to watch as much as possible in case the rumors and true and spectro comes back in 2013!) and Wishes.

After that we'll be headed back to the Contemporary in preparation for another exciting day (at least for me!)

Chef Mickey's, pool OR monorail, and Magic Kingdom? It all sounds like so much fun! Honestly if my trip had been longer, I probably would have just sat on the monorail for like an hour. Ahhhhhhhhh. :cloud9:

I hope you're able to get the stroller you want!

I really enjoyed seeing your own pictures, especially the ones of Everett.

As for the potty training - boys can be terribly stubborn. Having two boys, I know all too well. :rotfl:

Your MK plans look like a ton of fun.

Strollers - wow, they really have fancy names these days. Clearly I have not used one for awhile because those names are all greek to me. :rotfl:

Sorry you're having so much trouble with finding a stroller. I hope you're able to find one soon!

I think your Saturday plans sound great! :thumbsup2 And I love seeing your pictures.

I really like your idea of riding the monorail a few times. It's the simple things like that that kids love. I would probably never think of doing that. :rotfl:

Your plans sound great! And I love all the pics of Baby Everett. So cute. :lovestruc

:rotfl2: I used to refer to myself as The Nap Nazi. ;)

I love your idea of riding the monorail a couple of times! The views from there are great, and listening to the spiel, of course!

Your MK plans sound great! I love the pictures of Everett through the years!!

Love all of pictures! So sweet to see Everett through the years.

Good luck with the stroller hunt. That's got to be frustrating.

Plans sound great!

I'm sorry for the continued difficulties with buying a stroller. It reminded me though that we need to get a rain cover ordered for ours... I don't want to wait until the last minute and not be able to get it. Always worth the money for insurance that it won't rain on us. :lmao::rotfl2:

It looks like a fun filled day at MK. I think your plan to trade pins or play SOTMK while Everett naps looks like a good plan initially, but are you sure you won't want a nap while he's napping? :confused3

in case the rumors and true and spectro comes back in 2013!
Wow... I've been away from the DIS far too much lately. I had no idea that was a rumor, but...

:cool1::dance3::cheer2:

I hope it is true... Love Spectro!

I've heard rumors about Spectromagic returning, as well, and have debated watching MSEP one more time in October, just in case. Hmm, we'll see...:confused3

Your MK day sounds busy, but not overexhausting. (If that makes sense.) I think riding Jungle Cruise, Pirates, and HM all in one day sounds fantastic, and I found Pecos Bills to be a nice halfway point between the attractions.

On a few side notes, I'm still baffled that a store is closed on a Wednesday. That just seems so odd to me. :confused3
And, I just had to say, the photos of Everett on Jungle Cruise at 4 months and then at 2 years old are great; I always get a kick out of seeing kids grow up throughout Disney vacations.

I know, its like my whole "make the best of the Contemporary" day. I don't know how I'm ever going to love staying anywhere else.

I really enjoyed seeing your own pictures, especially the ones of Everett.

Well, Everett was doing well with potty training, and then we moved. :headache: Now he pretty much wants nothing to do with it. I'm going to give it a while, because the poor kid has a lot of changes coming up and I don't want to stress him out anymore.

My dad loves to remind me that my full sized stroller cost more than his first car ;) But then I remind him that my stroller has more features than his first car did too!

Sorry you're having so much trouble with finding a stroller. I hope you're able to find one soon!

I'm hoping that next week I'll be able to decide on a stroller once and for all (that is until I decide I really do need a double :rotfl: )

Your plans sound great! And I love all the pics of Baby Everett. So cute. :lovestruc

:rotfl2: I used to refer to myself as The Nap Nazi. ;)

Thank you, I can't believe what a big boy he has become, and I can't believe that I'm going to have another tiny baby in just a few months!

We're pretty strict about naps and bedtimes around here, mommy needs her DIS time! :rotfl2:

I'm so happy you guys all love my idea, especially since it was born out of laziness. :rotfl2: Lets see, getting Everett into a swim diaper and covered in sunscreen and making sure he doesn't drowned in the pool is hard- wait, I could just ride the monorail in circles for an hour or so, which takes no prep work and Everett will be in heaven- win, win! :lmao:

Love all of pictures! So sweet to see Everett through the years.

Good luck with the stroller hunt. That's got to be frustrating.

Plans sound great!

I really should have gotten to my stroller hunt earlier. I'm a terrible procrastinator and sometimes it comes back to bite me you know where! ;)

I'm sorry for the continued difficulties with buying a stroller. It reminded me though that we need to get a rain cover ordered for ours... I don't want to wait until the last minute and not be able to get it. Always worth the money for insurance that it won't rain on us. :lmao::rotfl2:

Thanks for reminding me to also order a rain cover! :headache:

I probably would want to nap while he is napping, but he wouldn't nap in the room if he could see me. It would be all "night-nights with mommy!" and then he'd wear me down to bring him into bed with me, which means he'd be jumping around and kicking me, and asking to turn on the TV, and neither of us would get any sleep. Maybe I'll take a catnap on a Main Street bench if I get desperate! :rotfl2:

I've heard rumors about Spectromagic returning, as well, and have debated watching MSEP one more time in October, just in case. Hmm, we'll see...:confused3

I really love MSEP and I want to see it as much as possible before it goes back to CA. I like spectro too, but MSEP has a special place in my heart.

It is funny to see the pictures of him, in the same places, at all different ages. He's been seven times now, which really isn't too shabby for a 32 month old! :rotfl2:

I don't have a lot of trip stuff to update, but I thought I'd let you all in on my latest purchases/plans and ask your opinion on something that really has nothing to do with Disney (except for the fact that I might take it there someday). :rotfl2:

The first new thing I bought for our trip is a handy-dandy portable phone charger! My brother has one of these and I thought it would be really useful on our trip. I know in April I was using the mobile magic app so much that I really ran down my battery, which was frustrating. Now with FP enforcement, I find that MM is a necessity, and I want to be able to use it for the whole day. Now I can pop this nifty charger in my park bag and use it to give my poor phone some juice at the end of the day.

Also I love to post updates about our adventures to FB and twitter, which also really runs down my battery! Now, I don't have to worry! If any of you guys are interested in following along with us, just send me a PM and I'll send you the link to my twitter and FB account. It will be like a TR preview! :)

I also treated myself to a Disney related splurge yesterday! I got the e-mail in my inbox with the 25% off code from the Disney store, and I just had to see if I could use it for a new Disney Dooney. Well, just my luck, it worked. ;) So I just had to bring home this little beauty!

7501002529609.jpg

I have the matching wallet, how could I possibly resist! :rotfl2: (Meanwhile somewhere in the Persian Gulf DH is having unexplained heart palpitations :rotfl: )

In other news this weekend we are going on a little trip that has a distinctly DVC theme! My parents are really into horse racing, and they have a new horse that may or may not be making it maiden race this weekend up in Saratoga New York. We're going to head up there and make a weekend of it, and hopefully the trainer will give him the thumbs up to run on Sunday or Monday.

Either way it will be a nice time, we'll go visit Congress Park and ride the carousel, and visit with the new horse (named Thunder Quay- pronounced "key" I think?), and they are having family themed events at the track Sat, Sun and Monday, so Everett will enjoy the pony rides and bounce house and kiddie entertainment.

Saratoga Springs really is lovely, so I'm looking forward to it, and the racetrack is always a fun place to spend some time. Everett has been up there before and loves watching the horses parade through the paddock on the way to the starting gate. I also enjoy finding all the little details that Disney chose to incorporate into Saratoga Springs Resort- its like finding reverse hidden mickeys! :rotfl2:

Ok, one last thing. Since I'm going to have a new baby, I'll need a new diaper bag, right? I love diaper bags, they are the handbags of mom. ;) I have two favorite designers, Ju Ju Be and Petunia Pickle Bottom, and although I do love PPB patterns, I find that they design leaves something to be desired, they really suffer from "black hole syndrome", where you put things in and then you can never find them again! I have one and I love the way it looks, but it is hard to organize and wouldn't be big enough for two kids (that does not mean I would hesitate to pick up another one if I find a good sale ;) )

So that leaves Ju Ju be- at press I have three different Ju Ju be diaper bags and each fills a different nitch. The new one I'm looking at is the BFF, and I'm torn on which pattern to purchase.

here are the two choices-

91z2Grw7qOL_AA1500_.jpg

I really like the silver and power blue on this one and I think it is overall a very pretty pattern, but I'm afraid of it really showing dirt. All Ju Ju Be bags are machine washable, which is awesome, but I know from experience that it is not possible to keep them pristine.

619DVsX1aL.jpg

This is my other choice, it definitely won't show dirt as much, and the cherry color really pops in person and it would be a fun bag to carry, but I don't know if I like it as much as the blue one.

Help me choose! :yay:

I hope everyone has a great labor day weekend!

I love your purse that you bought!! :thumbsup2

As for the diaper bag - I would probably go with the silver & powder blue one. It's so pretty!!

That sounds like a fun trip to Saratoga to see the horses. I bet that is fun to see the things Disney chose to incorporate into its' own version.

That charger sounds really cool! What kind is it?

Love the Disney Dooney! Very pretty. And with a 25% off code how could you resist??? (My DH dreads the words Disney and Dooney in the same sentence, as well. :rotfl:)

Portable phone chargers are a life saver. I received one as a gift, and I loved having it in my purse for when I was out and about. (I am glued to the wait times APPs, as well. But mine's pure laziness. When it's 1 o'clock in the morning at MK, I don't feel like traveling from Adentureland to Tomorrowland for Space if the wait's too long. :rotfl2:) Not to mention, if you don't want to unpack your charger in the room and plug it into your computer or an outlet, it offers you another option.

It's always a little fun to upload pictures and statuses to Facebook to kind of announce, "Look at where I'm at." :thumbsup2 I have a friend who lives 45 minutes away from WDW, and she's forever posting pictures from the Peoplemover, making me extremely jealous. :goodvibes I'll send you a quick PM, maybe we'll end up updating our pages from the same park one day. :rotfl:

I bet the horse races in Saratoga will be really nice. I bet the place itself if very pretty, and it's a nice plus that there will be activities to keep Everett entertained.

Hmm, personally, I like the blue diaper bag, but I'm sure if you have to wash it around every turn, its appeal would dwindle. Is one of your current ones similar in colors? I suppose if they are and you don't have to keep it clean very often, the first one would work. :confused3

I vote for the cherry colored one! It's cute!

Love the purse-a girl can't let a good 25% off code go to waste. That's how I always rationalize it! Heck-sometimes a free shipping code is enough for me. Hope that DH survived his phantom heart pains. :rotfl:

Have a great weekend! Sounds like a lot of fun!
