A Pre Thanksgiving/Christmas Vacation, Our First Split Stay & Our 5th Trip to Disney!

Shelly - glad to hear your DS is feeling better! Fingers crossed for no more illnesses!
Your weather forecast looks awesome! Are you all packed?? ;)

Glad to hear that he is feeling better. Now, just keep those fingers crossed that it wasn't something contagious.

Sounds like you have a busy busy weekend.

Thank you! :)

Yep, and the business continues right into next week with the Book Fair at the school and DS8's field trip. I tell ya, I really need a vacation!!! :rotfl:

I really need to get on the rest of the packing. I have been waiting on the weather forecast to see what all we need in way of warmer clothes. With lows only in the 60's it doesn't look like we will need the hats, gloves, and sweaters we needed in January!

Here is DS and our dog. This dog is something else. He can always tell when the kids are sick and has to be right by them. He's so funny! He was sniffing and licking DS's forehead when he had a fever. I think he was taking his temp! :rotfl:

I just love doggies. :dogdance:They are so sweet. I am dreading taking him to the kennel next Saturday morning. :sad2: He's very old - 13, so the kids worry that his time will come when we are gone on vacation.

I can't believe someone stole your sheltie. That's terrible.

Shelly- your DS has grown so much in the last two years------- he's lost that baby look.... and.... *sniff*..... he's looking like a little man. :sad1: He's changed so much since we met for lunch up at the Outlet.:guilty::guilty:

Love "Hot dog"----- at least he wasn't steaming this time.:rotfl:

Beau Gator the Bulldog has parked his BEHIND outside of Belle's room. :lovestruc

I know, my baby is growing up. :sad2: I just gave him a haircut a few nights ago, so that doesn't help. They always look older after a haircut.

"Hot Dog" was laying on the register the other day and I just laughed. At least he can't catch his BEHIND on fire now that we no longer have electric baseboard heat! :rotfl:

How sweet that your doggie is guarding Belle's door. :lovestruc I hope she feels better soon.

The weather forecast looks good---
it's supposed to be 90 degrees in Jacksonville for the FL/Georgia game this weekend-- so i'm guessing it might be hotter in Orlando.

Must be going to cool down with maybe that cold front that's dumping snow on Colorado moving in?

Jo

I sure hope so. I DO NOT want 90's when we are down there!!!

I don't know though. I have looked at 3 different forecasts. And they sure are DIFFERENT. Two of them only do 10 days out, so they only have my first 2 days. . . One says 83 both days, the other says 69 both days. :confused3 And accuweather says 77 & 78 for those first 2 days. What the heck ?????

How can they be so different?

It's like that every year when i check...you can also check the local Orlando Fox station for the weather...I have found that it usually matches Accuweather the closest..so, that's one reason I like Accu.....

That reminds me of something my mom has always told me. She told me she could always tell when I was about to get sick because I'd get this particular smell. She said it was a sour sent of some sort. Go figure! I still think that is weird :)

It's true! My kids get a bad breath smell whenever they are feeling sick..it's always a pre-cursor to any sickness they get.

Phew!! I got through the whole thing! ;) 2 things that stuck in my head (that everyone else has long passed, but I'm so late...)

I'm a teacher, and while I used to get a bit annoyed at people who take their kids out for weeks at a time, I've now done it twice :rolleyes1 and completely understand it! As long as the work gets made up (the parents willing to do some reading/discussing with their kids helps a lot), I'm fine. Of course, we have some students from a different culture whose parents tend to take them back to their former country for a month or two at a time...usually somewhere around December - March. :scared1: So a week doesn't seem that bad to me anymore! I'm glad it's not an issue for you.

Don't worry about Fantasmic - I think you're right in not changing your plans. Since the ADRs were so easy to switch around for you, I'd say you're not looking at big crowds, anyway!

Ok - I think I'm done. ;) Happy trick-or-treating tomorrow...here's to a healthy last few days of your countdown!

Glad you are all caught up! :goodvibes

Yes, I always worry about what the teacher is going to think. But ultimately it is up to the school and they don't have a problem with it. So far anyway! Plus my kids rarely miss school otherwise and get good grades. If that wasn't the case I wouldn't take them out.

I can't believe people would take their kids out of school for a month or two! :scared1:

Yep, I have decided to not even think about the whole Fantasmic thing anymore!

The kids still both have a little cough that seems to be hanging on forever, but other than that they are doing well. :wizard:

:woohoo:
