A Pre Thanksgiving/Christmas Vacation, Our First Split Stay & Our 5th Trip to Disney!

Morning Shelly,

Sorry I've been missing in action the last few days.

Just 7 weeks?!?!? Doesn't that make ya feel like dancing! :woohoo::dance3:

i love your plans. they are far more relaxed than mine, I never considered myself comando, but next to you I must!:lmao:

I don't think I could have a down day on WDW property and not go to a park, and I pack my days full from sunset to sunrise - my poor family...

I wonder if this next trip I can relax, based on my plans it doesn't look like it... I need my fill :lmao:

Your plans look so great so far! I admire that you can be so relaxed! In my mind I desire that , but like Drakes, I am a commando at heart! Too much to see and do - gotta go from morning to night!

I will have to show DH these comments! As relaxed as I make our plans he always still thinks we are on the go from morning til night! :confused3:rotfl: If he only knew what others do!

A neighbor in our old neighborhood told me all about her last Disney trip. (about 5 years ago) How they were at the parks from morning until night each day. She said they would get up at 6:00-7:00am and get back to the room at midnight-1:00am and then get up and do it over again the next day, and so on. Then she said - I don't know why my DH won't take me back??? I thought, if I did that my DH would never take me back either! :rotfl:

On our first trip I thought we would be one of those families opening and closing the park everyday. I quickly learned that wasn't going to happen. So I knew if I wanted to keep going back I needed to slow things down a bit. So each trip is more relaxed than the last. :cloud9: And yes, there are still things that we haven't seen/done, but we will get to them eventually!

I do admire all you park commandos though, I could totally do it if these boys weren't dragging me down (all 3 of them!)!

HI SHELLY! :goodvibes

So sorry I am so late in joining you here! It's been a very busy couple of weeks for our family. :upsidedow I am all caught up now and ready for more! :thumbsup2

I am so glad you were able to get your airfare taken care of! That can really cause a lot of stress! I booked ours for January a few weeks ago. We are flying from Minneapolis again. I got a great deal too! :yay: $620 CD for the 4 of us to fly r/t! It would have cost over $1800 to fly from our home airport in Thunder Bay! :scared1:

My very first trip to Disney was in late Oct of 1988. The weather was PERFECT!!! ~80 every day, perfect for swimming! I am excited to hear more! :)

Welcome Kim! :goodvibes

I'm glad I got the airfare taken care of too. What a relief. I don't think I will wait this long again.

Congrats on your January airfare! :cool1: Sounds like you got a great deal!

Well, my kids hated it! Ha!! Our food was bad both times!! I know some love it, some hate it!! We REALLY didn't like it! I would hate for you to lose a TS if your meal wasnt good.I have heard that they have the best candy in the shop before you step into the restaurant....maybe you can just get a treat there!!

Shelly we have eaten in Mexico before.... and our meals were nice.... the margaritas were VERY good!!! Maybe the food just tasted really good becasue we had to much margarita!!!

See what I mean about the mixed reviews on this place?! :rotfl:

We are still undecided. About a lot of our ADR's actually. Thinking about cancelling this one, maybe Captain's Grill, and seeing if we can change our Sci-Fi around. I really need to have a family Disney meeting tonight! This week has been crazy with soccer and other things going on, so I haven't had time to get anyone's input on these things, plus the fact that we are arriving to Disney so late now.

Your DHS plans sound great and I love the pictures!!! We can't wait to ride Tower of Terror and Rock n Rollercoaster!!! We saw Lights motor action and loved it, so next year we'll do Indiana Jones. We missed Muppets 3D, so i'm looking forward to that too.

So glad you got your airfare and you know you made a good decision!! That must have been stressful, I know it was for me while I was waiting to purchase ours.

Thanks! :goodvibes I can't wait to get to DHS! :yay:

Yes, having airfare makes it all seem like it's really going to happen now!

That's okay Lisa, I know you've had a rough week. I'll still be here writing away whenever you have a chance to pop in!

Yes, I do actually feel like dancing!!!:banana::banana:

Woo hoo Shelly!

:woohoo: Hey Sea!

Hey Shelly~ I don't really have anything more to add than another "Can you believe you're down to seven weeks already?" It's coming sooooo fast!!!

Just think...right now I'm saying...

One year and 7 weeks til Disney! :dance3:

I know, time is really flying by quickly. Which usually doesn't happen when waiting on a Disney trip to get here! :rotfl: I think because of moving the summer flew by. And now that school and soccer have started time will pass by quickly as well. Soccer ends on Sunday Nov 1st and we leave for Disney on Sat the 7th! :woohoo:

1 year, 7 weeks will be here before you know it! You may be going next November without us. You know, because of the whole DS10 needing braces thing. :sad2: But if there is some way for me to make a Disney trip happen, you know I will try!! :thumbsup2

DH told me the other day that on our next trip he doesn't want to get up and to the parks too early. I asked him what was too early, and he said "I don't want to get to the parks before 9am." :lmao:
He did agree that we can do Morning Extra Magic Hours at DHS. I'm not sure if we'll do it, we've never done a Morning EMH before...

Oh Shelly!! How wonderful! Just 7 weeks!!! I have got to decide on our airfare as well...giving it a little more time.Waiting for that last price drop, then I will book it!

We only actually have 2 mornings that we are going to park opening this time. :confused3 Just worked out that way! My DH will be thrilled!

We've never done AM EMH before. I'm sure it's a great time to get the most popular rides in!

Good luck with your airfare! :wizard: Keep a close eye on it, I keep looking at SW and their rates have skyrocketed this week. So glad I didn't wait any longer.
Hooray for 7 weeks!!!

(I can't wait to say that!)

You'll be at 7 weeks before you know it! :woohoo:

Tonight DH and I took the kids to my moms and we went to the mall, Lowe's, and to dinner - alone! Something we almost never do. I got a couple of new shirts for vacation. I'm not much for Disney t-shirts, so I was just looking for lightweight short sleeved shirts for November. I'm thinking it probably won't be warm enough for tank tops, and probably won't be as cool as it was in January, so we won't need all the sweaters, hats, and gloves!

I do have a few Disney shirts. I'll have to post pictures of them later. DH actually has more Disney shirts than me! And the kids could probably go to Disney for 2 weeks straight and not wear the same Disney shirt twice! And I got them some new Disney sweatshirts last winter that they haven't seen yet!

I found the neatest thing at Lowe's tonight. Maybe you all already know about them and they are just new to me. But they have Disney keys!! So cool! They had Pooh, Eeyore, Mickey, Minnie, and Tink. I got a Minnie key made of my house key!

I couldn't find a picture of the Minnie Mouse key on Lowe's website, but here are the Mickey, Tink, and Pooh keys-

Hopefully tomorrow I will get time after Church and before soccer games to post an update of Day 5 - Magic Kingdom! pixiedust:

Shelly... not sure if you are interested or not but I will be at Disney in three weeks... would you like me to send along some post cards to the boys from their fav characters .... if so you can PM me your address ..

Afternoon everyone! Another beautiful sunny warm day here in PA. A great day for a few soccer games! :cheer2:

DH got called into work this morning and still isn't home. Some big work emergency. Thought they had it handled yesterday, but nope! :sad2: So the boys and I are hoping he makes it back in time for soccer. DS10 has a home game at 3:00 and DS7's game (all his games are here) is at 4:30. I really don't want to have to coach DS7's game if the coach (DH) doesn't show up! :rotfl:

Day 5 ~ Wednesday November 11th:

Can you believe it will be day 5 and we haven't even gone to MK yet? Crazy, I know! As you have already read, MK isn't a favorite park for any of us. But we still all love it. It's just so magical! pixiedust: We always do MK 2 days. One day we will open MK and stay until about 2-3. Another day we will go to MK around 2-3 and stay til closing and watch Wishes. This is the day that we will get to MK late. And believe it or not, this day starts with "sleep in". :rotfl:We will get up whenever and hang out at POR for a bit. Maybe swim. Definitely get lunch at the food court. And head to MK whenever we feel like it. We have no ADR's this day, because the following day we have 2. So it will be CS for us on this day. Our CS dinner will either be at Casey's Corner (which all 3 of the boys love, I could take it or leave it) or we will try something new and go to Cosmic Ray's! We don't really have any plan of attack for MK on this day. On the day that we will open MK (later in the week) we will go for Fantasyland first. Just tradition I guess. Really though I think it is the fact that I like to go and do the Fantasyland attractions first thing when there are no lines because I just can't justify waiting in long lines for them later. So we will most likely skip Fantasyland and maybe even Mickey's Toontown on this day and focus on the bigger rides and attractions. DS10 is bummed that Space Mtn will be closed. Unless by some miracle the opening day is bumped up by a week or so! :wizard: I am so curious as to what it will be like after the rehab. I thought it was so rough and jerky before. We will probably spend some time in Tomorrowland regardless of if Space is open or not. We all love Buzzlightyear and Monsters Inc. DS10 loves the Jungle Cruise, so we will definitely hit that at least once. And definitely Big Thunder. We will skip Splash and save it for later in the week. We will definitely stop at Aloha Isle and get a Dole Whip Float! :cloud9: (okay, at least I will, the boys don't like them. :confused3) We'll probably see some characters and I'd like to see the Pirate Tutorial show (we've never seen it). Maybe the boys will get chosen! pirate: We haven't seen the castle stage show in a few trips, so I'd like to see it as well. Spectro is showing that night, but we may skip it since we just saw it in January. We'll see what we feel like. But we will definitely see Wishes!

I LOVE that pic of you guys kissing and the boys covering their eyes! :rotfl:

I'll be crossing my fingers and sending some pixie dust that Space Mountain will be open earlier for you! pixiedust:

We usually spend more time at MK than at any other park. It has more for little ones than the other parks do so I'm sure we'll change our tune in a few years when our kids get a little older.

Your photos are wonderful....

we love MK... mostly for the history.. for rides we like HS... AK for a lazy day of strolling and Epcot for everything... we love the food and learning about all the countries!!
