A Pirate, a Jedi & a Platypus walk into a Lounge – A Feb 2013 Pre Trip Rpt

I was on the Disney Store website today and took advantage of some Holiday Weekend Sales to buy a few birthday gifts to either ship or bring with us in February. DS LOVES plushies, and was pointing out several on the site over my shoulder that I have to assume he will ask for while we are there.

For $5 and $10, they were better deals than what they will be priced while we are there, so now I have a few items to surprise him with during his birthday week in February.

The Club Level staff told me they will be able to put some of his birthday surprises in his room while we are out and about. It will be so great to see him surprised!

That sounds so great! :)

Got my Photopass Plus CD and my Disney Store packages this week!

Obiwan is going to get some cute birthday gift plushies while we are there.

Oswald
One of the Bears from Brave
Kermit
Scully the Parrot from Jake
Perry the Platypus
Chesire Cat
Donald

I think it is a nice varied selection. And they are a decent enough size to fit in one of our suitcases.

I got some cute glass mickey head ornaments for our Christmas tree, too.

Its so awesome to be able to say that I'm going to WDW next month!

Very pleased that I was able to book the Dessert Party for DS's birthday. I booked the day it opened so hopefully we will be near the front again.

Starting to think about what to pack and getting very jealous of those who have trips earlier in February than us. :p

I had a productive Disney related weekend. Received a package of shirts ordered from the Disney store, including a cute pirate costume shirt that will be great for our son's appointment at Pirate League.

I tried on several pairs of my capris and easily found 4 that fit comfortably, so now I just need to worry about footwear. And clothes for the DH and DS....

I reserved a room at the hotel at the airport that offers free parking while we are on our trip AND a shuttle to the airport at 5 in the morning. With a 7:30 am flight, that shuttle will come in handy. And being close to the airport and not an hour and a half away will also help.

And of course, I had to tinker with my ADR's........

2/24 - Arriving early in the day to WL.
Some Epcot time,
some resort time,
then AAA preferred fireworks viewing and Evening EMH's at MK.
I added Coral Reef at 4:20. I think after an early morning and long day, I am going to want someone to serve me my food and not wait in line for it.

Sign up for Jedi Training Academy immediately after breakfast (coinciding with park opening at DHS),

I plan to cancel H&V and eat breakfast at CL at the lodge. Cereal, pastries and most importantly COFFEE will be enough to get us going to sign up for JTA. Also, I just can't get over the thought that DS has outgrown the Disney Jr characters.
I cancelled WCC and added 1900 PF dinner. The reviews I am reading of the stepsisters interaction AND the black angus stew have me quite intrigued. Both seem worth a dining credit to try it out.

2/26 - DS turns 7!
8:50am Ohana Breakfast
Pirate League Appointment 11am
Cake delivered to room at WL before back to MK to watch MSEP
Wishes Dessert Party
I am moving Ohana breakfast to the next day and plan to order breakfast to our room AND a birthday cake with breakfast.
I have also added back LTT at 2:30 for a break between the Pirate League and the Pirate Parade.

2/27 - DTD for some shopping
TRex 1:30pm reservation
Adding Ohana here at 8:25. Nice way to see Mickey and we all love breakfast foods. Especially when they are served to us.

2/28 - AAA Storytime at Epcot at 1130
Teppan Edo at 520pm
I have surprisingly left this day alone. :confused3

3/1 - LTT 1pm
DHS Disney Jr Dance Party during EMH's
Cancelled LTT on this day, but added 1900 PF for breakfast. Nice way to see characters and we all enjoy breakfast buffets.
I can't find that EMH's are still posted at being at DHS on this day now, so not sure if we can do the dance party now.

3/2 - Fly home :-(

I love the WL - DS and I stayed there in December 2009. Such a beautiful resort!

And I will be jealous of your trip because you will be down there when I'm back home and suffering from post-Disney depression. ;)

We fell in love with WL last January. DS LOVED it and I just felt so comfortable there.

Maybe your Trip Report can help pull you out of the post-Disney depression? :grouphug:

I think I will be able to avoid post-Disney depression this time. We're getting APs for the first time ever, so I'll be able to come back and start planning our next trip!

AP's. Awesome! My brother and I are thinking of doing a long weekend trip this fall, but I stilll have 3 days left on an old non-expiring park ticket that I will use for that trip.

I think if I ever decided to try my hand (or feet) at the marathons, half or otherwise, the AP would be a big help in getting me there often enough to do it. We'll have to see about that in the future though.

I'm so excited that our trip is coming up soon. I never thought I would make it to February when I booked this trip back in July.

It is 11 degrees in PA today and while I am not normally a fan of heat, I'm looking forward to being in FL partly to get away from 11 degree weather.

Thinking about packing a bit or at least making some lists.

But I will probably spend most of my day reading Trip Reports. :)

It all started innocently enough this morning over breakfast with my DH. I mentioned that I was thinking of cancelling 1900 PF for breakfast and it turned into a discussion about having the last day free to visit any or all parks that we want. Then he asked me whether we were planning to "see that Lion King thing" at AK. I said, we could certainly try, but got to thinking that I don't really want to spend my last full day at a park that we were willing to skip entirely on our last trip and were pretty much planning to skip again.

So, I made some changes........ Here's where things stand now and hopefully will remain that way for the next 3 weeks..:rolleyes2

2/24 - Arriving early in the day to WL.
Some resort and pool time,
Hopefully some Epcot time,
then AAA preferred fireworks viewing and Evening EMH's at MK.

Sign up for Jedi Training Academy immediately after breakfast (coinciding with park opening at DHS),
maybe a visit to Big River Grille and Brew Works,
maybe a visit to Epcot again,
Whispering Canyon Cafe at 6:25.

Birthday Cake delivered to our room at breakfast time,
Pirate League Appointment 11am
Lunch at LTT at 2:30
Wishes Dessert Party
Watch second MSEP of the night.

2/27 - Animal Kingdom in the AM, then
DTD for some shopping
TRex 1:30pm reservation

2/28 - Morning EMH's at MK
10:05 1900 PF Breakfast
AAA Storytime at Epcot at 12:15
Teppan Edo at 520pm

3/1 -Ohana Breakfast at 9:40 then
Any and All Parks that we want to see more of.

3/2 - Fly home :-(

That adds up to 8 Table Service Meals, but honestly I plan to pay OOP for T Rex and if we do make it to Big River Grille, will cancel WCC for dinner that night. If we end up cancelling 1900 PF after all, that will cover all of our existing plans.
