A pic of a birthday card I made for GS

A few days ago my inspiration had dried up and I had used all my Star Wars pics in a "book card" I had made for our DD to give to GS. At that point, GS was interested in absolutely nothing else but Star Wars. And then ..... all of a sudden he likes the game Pirates of the Caribbean which I have for my Nintendo DS. Inspiration returned. :cool1:

Having first found a pic of Lego Jack Sparrow and a palm tree, I downloaded a kit for the rest of the card from Craftsuprint. I printed the base sheets on to thickish card for strength and printed the decoupage, Jack Sparrow and two sizes of palm tree on to 190gsm glossy photo card. Really I would have liked the photo card to be a bit heavier but that is all I have. Then I cut everything out and assembled it, adding gold Glamour Dust to the gold coins in the treasure chest. I have to print GS's name and put it in the space and try and do something with "Appy Burfday", which DH doesn't like. But on that last point, I don't think I will be trying too hard.

I am pleased with the result especially as a couple of days ago I hadn't got a clue as to what to do. The photo makes the card look quite flat but it actually stands up so that the elements are quite 3D.

You did such an awesome job! I think your GS will love it. It is so neat that it even stands up too.
