A pen pal question...wwyd

Last year DD9's classmates got penpals. They were from a school about 20 minutes from here...(far away I know)

anyways, last year, DD and her penpal would write to one another monthly and they were sent via the school to eachother. They had strick instructions to talk about school, sports, favorite colors etc.. nothing personal in these letters.

They also did not exchange home addresses, or last names, for instance my DD's letters are addressed "Gabrielle R" and she sent her's to "leah S"

DD wants to write to Leah S again, and only has the school address....I do not know what classroom she is in- obviously...Her teacher told her it was okay to send it to the school via USPS, since the classroom is no longer pen-palling...

Should I just address it to the school principal, with a note explaining that DD wanted to write again, but this is the only contact info we have? Or should I just try to find DD a new penpal? She really only wants to write to someone, honestly doesnt care who she tried to steal DD8's penpal info since DD's penpal is in PA and we have the home address etc..

You could put it to the principal's attention with an explaination.
Leah S might also want to keep in touch with your daughter, but there are things to consider.
Is it ok with Leah S's parents and also how will they keep in touch-will they exchange home addresses.
You could see if there are any other kids that are willing to be a penpal with your daughter through the school if it is allowed, or if not, then maybe you could find someone for her.

In lots of girl magazines--like Hopscotch--they provide a list of people who are interested in being penpals. You have to have a subscription to get the actual contact info, but that might be a way to find someone.
