A Not So Scary September Birthday Celebration of Magic! Updated 9/23!!

I'm so sorry to hear about all the flooding. I'm glad you're safe and hope that you will be able to return home soon! :goodvibes

I actually enjoy Dinoland. We usually just watch the littler rides/games but Primeval Whirl is actually a lot of fun and of course, Dinosaur! Plus you can meet Pluto and Goofy over there. And one of the things I really remember doing on our first trip to Disney was digging in the boneyard. I would totally do it now but I feel like it's frowned upon.

:rotfl2: I knew when it was AK day that you'd be making your way to the first showing of FOTLK!

I would guess about your costume for MNSSHP but I'm pretty sure I saw you mention it in a comment to Shannon and I don't want to spoil the fun :rotfl2:

I'll be crossing my fingers that you can go home tomorrow!

Good for you for going to MNSSHP alone! I guess you know the parks and Naveen so well now that it's no big deal ;)

I am not good at guessing games, but I will guess Sci-Fi for dinner and Wendy for your costume!

Ohmygosh that's so scary! Stay safe and I hope everything's ok!!

ETA: I just realized I never cast my ADR vote. If it's not too late, my vote is for Sci-Fi!

Vote taken! And thanks! Everything has worked out so far, my house has been safe and away enough from water that I'm now home!

I've seen the pics and videos. So bad. Glad you're safe and hope your home doesn't sustain too much damage!

Thank you! Luckily our house is totally okay and wasn't hit by water at all, thank god! Now I'm keeping my hometown/Mom in my thoughts as Edmonton begins to flood.

Glad to hear that you are safe and dry. Sending good wishes for your friends and family to be the same. :grouphug:

And, for your next ADR I'm voting for Sci-Fi. I remember a not so nice experience at another DHS restaurant on your mom's last trip. Of course you may choose Mama Melrose too, but I think it'll be Sci-fi. ;)

Thank you!

And vote taken down!!

Definitely thinking about you during the awful floods. What a horrible way to come back home. Super glad to hear that your safe and relatively dry. :goodvibes

First stop Everest! You know I approve!!!!!

Festival of the Lion King!!?? I'm shocked I tell ya... SHOCKED!

Ohhh I know your MNSSHP costume!!! But crap, no cheating. :p

It sucked, but at least I'm home and safe and dry. Thoughts going out to Edmonton now as it starts to flood!

Ahaha, yeah, I stick with the classics!

Sorry to hear you have to be evacuated, and about everything that is going on in Clagary right now, but glad you are safe and dry.

Great plans!

I don't remember if I guessed for the ADR game, but if not I will say Brown Derby.

It's insane! Thank you

We have spent the last few days glued to global. With so many family and friends there, its scary. My friend lives in High River and has lost everything. Stay safe, stay dry and just keep swimming ;)

YAY on your update! I don't know how you can ride EE over and over again. On my last trip I rode it 3 times and I was ruined for the last of the day!

High river has certainly gotten hit the worst, my friends car is completely gone and lord only knows about her parent's house, it really sucks and I'm hoping Edmonton is preparing for the worst as waters move north!

Thanks! Yay! HAhaha

Hey team!

So I always want to have at least a little bit of something to share with you each week, and today there's actually some exciting news, YAY!!

First off, I'm home, not affected by floods and everything is finally back to normal, although I can't get to dance class :worried: Not that I can really afford it right now anyways, dang ballroom being expensive... :offtopic:

SO, Tuesday a group of us went shopping and to a movie, and it was Monster's University!! It was super good and I'm REALLY glad that Pixar did that whole "wait til the kids who were kids when the first one came out are college kids" to release it, it relates that much more to people our age. I'd almost say it's more of a college age movie than a kid movie.

Not because of inappropriate ness, but in the lessons that aren't learnt and the morals and all that kind of stuff. REALLY good movie though, definitely go see it! I'm going with Paige again next Tuesday!

Obviously, I've just gotten back from another audition, and this one was another no. It was my fault this time, nothing that I can blame on anyone else, I knew I had to be crazy over the top enthusiastic and I wasn't. I slipped into audition mode and got cut. They kept a lot more people than usual, and my only hope is that they still need people in Sept! Still a fun trip, and there is still a TR coming your way for it!

Now, onto Sept's news!

I finally got my measurements done for my Rapunzel costume! I had originally settled on the cheapest one I could find, even though I wanted one that was more pink toned, like in the parks. Well, lo and behold, the woman sent me pictures of swatches to choose between purple colors or pink colors! WHAT?! YAY!!:worship:

And now, to give away the other costume, I've just sent measurements off to Shannon for my Wendy costume! EEK! So excited, it's been a very full week of MNSSHP prepping! Yay!

Since I was cut at the last audition, I worked out which of the Thursdays would have the audition while I'm there in Sept and it's looking like the 19th..the day we leave....:moped:

Guess I'm not leaving them hey?! :rotfl2::lmao:

But seriously....:faint:

I'm going to stay FOR SURE the extra night, and attend the audition. And while I was looking at stuff, I realized that Dapper Day is being held on the twenty first, and I really want to attend that too, so money depending, I might be staying til the TWENTY SECOND!!!! :lovestruc

I'm also debating the Backstage Magic Tour...the 8 hour one with all four parks

Or the Wild Africa Trek

Or both....do the BMT the day after the audition, and the WAT the morning of Dapper Day...

YAY!

Have a magical weekend friends!

Yay, so glad you're back home.

That super seriously sucks that you didn't get in this time. Really thought this was the one. But, you have a great attitude about it and plus you probably got some great experience to use next time.

Ah look at that, an excuse for more Disney time! See that, everything happens for a reason. :thumbsup2

I considered the Backstage Magic tour as well. It looks wicked! :hyper:

So sad you got cut again. I am so routing for you to make it one of these times!

Well, you know how much my Mom and I liked the WAT so I say go for it! I talked to her last night and she seemed really interested in doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour in February. I'm headed up to PA to visit her next week so I think we can finally get some details for that trip nailed down.

I'm sorry to read about the audition. It just means the perfect role for you hasn't come available yet!! :tinker: So sad and scary about the flooding up in Canada, glad to hear where you are is was okay.

We've done both Backstage Magic (although it was 5 years ago so it may have changed slightly since) and Wild Africa Trek and you can't go wrong with either. Although, I think I would give the edge to Backstage. Getting to go to all of the behind the scenes areas was incredible and at least for us, gave us an even greater appreciation for Disney and everything that goes in to making all of the park, resorts, restaurants, etc run so smoothly day in and day out.

If you decide to do Wild Africa and you are willing to go in the afternoon verses first thing in the morning they are offering $50 off per person for afternoon tours. :)

Those two tours are on the top of my To Do list!!! Either one I'm sure will be great. Bonus if you can do both!

So glad you're back home and everything is ok! :goodvibes

AH I NEED to see Monsters University. Like now.

Sorry this audition didn't work out but when it's the right one for you, it will!

Yay for MNSSHP costumes! I still need to figure out what I want to be!

I love that you're getting to stay longer!:cheer2: Ah both of those tours sound awesome! I was thinking about the Wild Africa Trek for our trip but I think it's going to have to wait for a future trip for now!

Oh man, I am hoping the next audition goes better, and YAY for extending the trip out a little longer.

My husband took the kids out to Monsters University tonight. I am home not feeling 100%, I would like to blame it on the extreme heat at the lake, but I have a feeling it had more to do with the Margaritaville, and Jello shots!

I would love to do a tour, but its not in the books this coming trip. Your costumes sound wonderful!

Your costumes sound so cute! I've seen stuff like that on Etsy but who make yours? I'm debating a MNSSHP (money depending since CM discount tickets are only good for the Sept parties this year :furious:) when I go down the 1st week of October and don't know what I want to be!

So glad the flooding didn't affect you! We've had flood warnings for while here, it's been raining constantly!

That would be awesome if you could stay a few extra days. More days at Disney is always a good thing! :goodvibes

It was definitely a good experince and it will help me with the next auditions even though it does suck!

Looks so awesome!!!

Fingers crossed!! Im just not sure about Backstage Magic as its so pricey, and im alreaady doing KTTK ob the same trip!

Awesome!! A lot will have to do with how much money I have haha

They look pretty awesome!! Hopefully I'll get enough money before then to do it!

Monster's U is amazing, I plan on seeing it again while it's still in theaters too!!

Next time, right? Heck, I just did an online audition for them, so fingers crossed!

SO EXCITED!!

AHHHH TELL me about it!! We went out to Sylvan for Canada day and despite putting on suncreen SO OFTEN, we all came home looking like lobsters!

I got my Alice made by: pixiedustboutiquee
Rapunzel from: CaitsBoutique
And Wendy from: SparkleOn101
I've also ordered Disney Bows from: bulldogsenior08

It took a lot of hunting to find a cheap enough Rapunzel one, but I'm happy I finally did it!! Definitely hit up MNSSHP, it's SO AWESOME!! I flip flopped so many character choices, Especially Lottie, which of course, Naveen and Tiana were partial too, but it's just too much to wear a hoop skirt in that heat ahaha.

Oh no! Stay safe and dry!

Day 4-> Saturday September 14th

Good morning ladies and gents and welcome to the next full day for us in Disney World! It’ll be yet ANOTHER early morning, hence why Mom and Anne will have taken it easy the night before. Thanks to the power of caffeine and Disney pixie dust I will hopefully be ready to roll right along with the ladies!

After some much needed coffee it will be off onto the Disney transportation system and
over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

It’s another EMH morning for us, so hopefully we’ll get to beat the crowds and ride the big rides a million times before anyone else gets there! If there’s one thing I know about September and morning EMH, it’s that they are EMPTY! Lawl. This of course is a good thing because we will of course be heading straight to Pixar Place to battle with some toys in 3 DDDDDDD

It’s one of my all time favorite rides, I’m becoming obsessed, I have the app on my phone and playing it with the music on just transports me straight back to being in Disney, it’s awesome! I’ll most likely let Mom and Anne ride together and I’ll go solo for this one, let them have a chance at competing, ahahaha. Mom really liked this ride last year, so I’m sure we’ll ride, and grab a fast pass!

I got Mom on Tower of Terror last year, so chances are she’ll go again, and hopefully Anne’s game for it as well! If not, I’ll just jump through the line a couple times by myself because, let’s be serious, lines won’t be long.

And now, since Mom wanted to try something new this time around, I think we might even be taking off with Aerosmith at some point this morning….and honestly, I will probably have to be calming myself down a lot, but hopefully I won’t freak out, I know it’s not as bad as I think it is!

Well we’re on the thought of “try new things” we may as well head over to Star Tours. Mom definitely knows the movies, I’ve never seen the originals (I know, I know) but the ride seems like it could be cool!

It’ll probably be time to use our TSM fast passes around now, so we’ll jump back over there to ride again, maybe grab another set of fast passes, and then depending on the time, maybe we’ll jump in line to meet some of Andy’s favorite toys!!

We didn’t meet Buzz and Woody last time, the queue is cute and fun, and Mom does love the whole “the claaaaaaw” thing, so at least it’ll be cute to get some photo ops in the line. Chances are I’ll be wearing my Buzz bow today too!

If we’re hungry, I’d say it’s about time to stop at Starring Rolls for our favorite snack next!

YUM!

Since we’re in the hub area, we’ll probably do the Great Movie Ride, again with the new stuff, and then head on over to Muppets 3D!! YAYAYAYAYA.

Beauty and the Beast will OF COURSE be on the itinerary for the morning, and if the Backlot Tour’s open, we’ll take a swing through there, and probably meet some Monsters!

Time depending, I might take a run back over to my favorite hotel for another drop or two, and I’ll suggest the Animation Class they have, another new thing, and there’s some fun characters in there to go meet, so we could check that out, BUT, around 1:00 we’ll have to head in for lunch!

Points of course awarded to : Christina, Courtney, Belle03, Rob, Shannon, Ariana and Monkey03 for guessing correctly, as today we’re dining at Sci Fi Drive In!

I’ve dined here once before, and it was on a whim, we walked up during an EMH night on the last night of our trip. I wasn’t into much on the menu then and simply asked if they could make me a grilled cheese! It came out on a Mickey plate because I’m 6….

I’ve looked at the menu recently and there seem to be a couple things that I’d like to try, and I thought the idea was really cute, hopefully we get to sit in a real car this time! I think Mom and Anne will like the themeing of the place too!

After lunch, we’ll gauge how everyone’s feeling, chances are, I’ll be wiped, and the ladies might be okay taking a break. I know if I do any shows in the afternoon, I will fall asleep, baha! Maybe after one quick ride or two, or right after lunch, it’ll be back to Port Orleans for a bit!

Swimming and napping, and maybe even hot tubbing (I know, it sounds ridiculous to do in the middle of the day, but you’d be amazed at how much better your feet/legs will feel afterwards) will be the goal of the afternoon. A much more relaxing day for everyone all around. When we’re ready to head back, or just when the clock says it’s time to go, we’ll be headed back to Hollywood Studios for the evening!

I’m sure that Mulch Sweat and Gears will be out and about, and we all know that I’m all for riding ToT at night, completely different! However the main point of tonight will be FANTASMIC!!

I have a strong love for the show, I have since I saw it in DLR with Mom when I was seven years old. I’m pretty sure I made her watch it every night we were there. I don’t remember much else about that trip. Then I saw it and was all “meh” and since becoming a big Disney nut, and realizing that Fantasmic really is all about Walt and his imagination and everything that he managed to create, and the dark times he went through, but he managed to succeed because DREAMS COME TRUE

#endrant

I now love it. Especially the last two minutes.

#crying

If Mom and Anne are up for it, or didn’t do it the night before, we might swing past Downtown Disney tonight, or I might just swing over myself. It’s not really on the schedule for us, but I want to get my shop on at TrenD, check the art store, and check out Basin. Lia had some great reviews on Basin’s stuff so I want to check it out!

Must Do’s of the Day:
-Headliner rides, duh
-Beauty and the Beast
-Fantasmic
-Something new!

Yes! Your DHS morning sounds like mine, I keep thinking it won't be busy too!

I actually find Rock n Rollercoaster to be less scary that other rides like Space Mountain, for example. I'm definitely going to catch B&tB this time and Fantasmic is scheduled for our first night :D

Sci Fi always looks so cute! But not terribly exciting food-wise.

Yay another point! I'll be honest... this one had me worried. Lesson learned... always trust your instincts.

Oh wow, that Sci Fi photo took me back to a TR long long ago.

I agree that hot tubbing is absolutely an any time thing. Often a soak is better than a nap.

Can't miss Fantasmic! And yup, from the point Sorcerer Mickey appears (actually I start getting gaga when Tink appears), but Sorcerer Mickey triumphant... You can't beat that!

Sounds like a full but awesome day.

Yay!! I like to think great minds plan alike! Hahah

Ive heard that about RnR! People are constantly telling me that it's easier, but I'm starting to think that it might be how you're restrained in the ride, not the ride itself!

My thoughts exactly!

Ahahah, always!!

Aw man. Did not know you read that trip report! Lawl

Early mornings really are only bearable in Disney! :rotfl2:

I hope you do make it on Rock n Rollercoaster! You'll love it if you do. But if not, hey, more ToT time! :rotfl2:

AH I need to meet Sulley in September! We met Mike in January but Sulley wasn't meeting our DHS day and I was so sad-- I love him!

Sounds like an awesome and busy day! The midday break with hot tub sounds like the perfect way to keep yourself going!

Um it's almost the 60 day mark!!! :cool1::banana:

I can honestly say I don't think I've ever been in a hot tub at Disney...but then again, I think I've always stayed at the value resorts so it wasn't an option! I guess it really would be good for sore legs & feet but the cold pool always seems much more inviting!

RnRC definitely isn't that bad, especially if you can handle TOT. Usually people are the other way around...hating TOT and loving RnRC! You'll be fine, promise! :thumbsup2
