A Not So Scary September Birthday Celebration of Magic! Updated 9/23!!

You should totally splurge for the Photopass+!!! Seing as just one picture from a ride or a restaurant is 20$, and for 30$ more than regular photopass you get ALL ride pictures and lots of restaurants. If your mom is not sure, just pay for the full difference yourself. It won't change anything for her then.

...And BOOM goes the dynamite! Outstanding. Glad you're getting to do these auds.

First thing that comes to my mind for a parade performer? A smile (happy; having fun) and honestly, eye contact. I love when parade performers make some form of connection with the audience, however brief it is. Whether it's direct eye contact, a wave, anything that connects them to me is what I most remember.

Though I have no direct experience with PP+, I have heard that the photographers love that red card. I did have the Attractions+ for the ride photos so I can definitely comment on that. The best part about that is in you don't have to choose which ride photo you like best (if it's something you would ever buy anyway). You just get 'em all. I found it an astounding deal.
So my vote is for sure PP+.

I'm dyyyying! I'd be lying if I said I hadnt been practicing the auditon dance/faces & stretching daily. I've watched FOTLK so many times I actually know the finale already.... What can I say, I pick up quickly!

Awesome!! Ill be sure to work on that!!

Yeah, pp+ is looking like its gonna be the best option

Our flight leaves at 2:15pm on the 11th, so I am guessing will be on the dreaded ME bus around 11 or 12. Definitely have a love/hate relationship with that bus...the drive back to the airport is the worst!

Ah boo! We'll be passing each other in the sky then!! So close!!

Sounds good!!

Finally made it over here and am all caught up!

I'm excited to see all of your plans for your trip. I'm going to join in the guessing game although I'm terrible at those things. I'm tempted to go back and re-read all your TRs to see which restaurants you have and haven't been to! I read too many to remember what everyone has done. :rotfl: But I'm too lazy to do that so my guess is:

Chef Mickey's

That was the first one that came to my mind with your clues. But I see lots of people guessed that one. Oh well, I'm sticking with it.

I'm so glad you are going to the audtions in June! Since I am way past the age to learn to dance or be a face character, I'm living through you! Yep, lots of pressure. :lmao:

I haven't used PP+ yet but am planning to in October. DH is going with me on that trip and he makes the funniest faces on rides so I think the photos will be hilarious. I think it's going to be worth it even though we are not doing any character meals. Maybe you could figure out how much you would pay if you actually bought all of the photos and use that to show your Mom how much you would save? That might convince her.

We all know the ones, the trip videos that make us laugh, they make us cry, they're all around fantastic! Some are simply a dancing music video style, some are more with some dialogue and different songs mixed in. I have been wanting to do one for a long time, and before last September's trip, actually I had an entire list of things I wanted to film to put into the video, and then lost it...:crazy2: So this is where you guys come in, I've compiled a list of various things during the trip that we could film, and want to know what it is that you guys like seeing in the trip videos. Then I'm going to share a bunch of my favorites!

-Airport meet up
-The classic "we're going to Disney World"
-Magical Express video/ride
-Checking out the room
-Any napkin twirling or parade dancing that might happen during some random meals
-The Monorail...duh...specifically the speech
-Cheer sing awesome drinks (in Epcot specifically?)
-Walking into Main Street/FLE/BOG for the first time, BOG specifically, I really want to capture Mom's reaction
-Some of the darker rides that are harder to get pictures on
-FOTLK/Move It Shake It
-Fantasmic Finale
-Various dance parties in the parks
-Certain meet and greets (Rapunzel and Flynn, Tiana and Naveen
-MNSSHP: Boo To You snipets/other various halloween specialty stuff

So what do you guys think? What makes a good trip report video to you?!

And now, some of my favorites:

The Classic ones of "bosox":

DisneyJen's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmYz8kLryF8

Dani's:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHPgjYp8uLI

The Yolo Ones: I like these ones as they're super fun, and they're young adults, one who actually works for Disney in entertainment!

Thoughts?!

And remember, all your votes for our first ADR of the trip need to be in by midnight tonight (mountain time??.....I think that's what time zone I'm in.....is that a thing....:lmao:) I'm 2 hours behind Orlando if that helps? :teacher:

It's another rainy day in Calgary, at least the fire ban's been lifted, and it smells like Florida a bit now haha! Nothing too exciting going on over here!

Enjoy the videos and your Thursday, have a magical day! :flower3:

Yay!!

Ahaha, that'd be a lot of work for a guessing game! Lawl. Vote written down!

Bah! Okay, I will do my best! Obviously, I'm just really hoping that this is the one for me!

Day 1  Wednesday September 11/2013

Our days will start BRIGHT and early today, and will actually start off separately! I ended up moving around 3 hours south of where I grew up/where Mom and Anne live, but we will all begin our days at roughly the same time, around 4:00 in the MORNING! IIIEEEEEKKK.

However one thing I’ve learnt is that the airline check in booths usually don’t open until 5:00am anyways, so as long as we’re all at our airports by then, we’ll be good. Flights take off around 6:30, and about 2 and a half hours later we’ll all arrive in Denver! We’ve managed to get flights that meet up in Denver and then are on the same flight into Orlando! Yay! The benefit of that 6:30 AM flight, we’ll be arriving in Orlando around 3:30, which is just plain awesome!

Once we land in Orlando, there will be NO picking up luggage for us, as I’ve decided that we will be using the baggage service that the Magical Express offers, we’ll be straight down to side B and onto the bus! It’s time to go to DISNEY WORLD.

Before we know it we’ll be all loaded up, and this video will start playing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jK85qwGswTU

Well, that’s really only part 1, but that’s the best part of the movie, it’s got Walt! I love this video, it’s super adorable, and really helps outline the basics of Disney. I love it when you’re on the bus with someone who’s on their first trip and they’re all “are we gonna do that? What about that?!?!” Super cute. Even though I’ve outlined pretty much everything for Anne, it’ll still be nice to see her reactions, I mean, you never really know exactly what you’re in for until you’re there!

The video will come to a close, I’ll probably be crying, and we’ll be pulling into our new home for the week! Port Orleans French Quarter! Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!

We won’t have to wait for luggage! (This is the first time I’ll actually be using the baggage service the DME offers, so I’m excited, ahaha) it’ll be straight into the lobby for us, and of course, I’ll have already done online check in!

The only request I’ll be making for this trip is “close to transportation” but the resort’s so small I doubt it’ll really matter where we end up, right? Lawl. Since we’re already down in the lobby, we may as well run over to the food court area to pick up our mugs, and, let’s be serious, some beignets (AND UNCRUSTABLES!) and we’ll be on our way to our room!

Who knows if that’s what the room will look like? Lawl. I don’t know how recent that photo is! Once we check in we’ll have about an hour before we have to leave for dinner, not quite enough time for a swim, but I’m sure we’ll explore the resort a bit, change, relax, you know the drill!

Around 6:30 it’s time to head down to the bus stop, and where will we be going, why, the Magic Kingdom of course!

But wait … I said that our ADR was at a RESORT! Why, it is!! After getting off the bus Anne, Mom and I will make the short walk over to the Contemporary! (A walkway I am now VERY familiar with after this last trip!) I have to say, it’s the easiest way to get to MK from anywhere that’s not a resort, we’d cab from the auditions to the Contemp and just walk over, much easier than going to the TTC and then having to monorail or boat it over.

You guys think you know where we’re going yet? Well, it’s a place very well spoken of by one of my friends, and disboard royalty, PrincessJess! Chef Mickeys!

Congrats going out to: cfw213, IVCourtneyy, diskid4life, Shan23877 and Pluto0809 for guessing correctly! You all get one point! This week I won’t post the standings as it’s all either 1 point or 0, but in the future I will! Good guessing team!

Yay! I know it definitely gets a bad reputation, but I’m not kidding when I was eating dinner with Jess, her Mom and friends a couple of weeks ago, the entire table GASPED loudly when I said I hadn’t eaten there. And hey, it’s a nice arrival dinner to get into the spirit of things, and what better of a way to start off the trip than saying hello to the Boss Man himself?!

Naturally I’ll spend my first night in Disney GORGING on carbs, as I hear they have great buns, mac and cheese and more at this buffet. I love me some buffets as I really like trying a variety of foods, but in small doses, so it’s great for me! Lawl! Especially for dessert!

YUM!

With our bellies full and some fun character friends met, we’ll roll back on over to Magic Kingdom and bus home! We’ve got an EARLY morning the next morning, actually the next 3 mornings are nice early ones!

Hint for next week’s ADR game; We’ll be at Magic Kingdom, and we’ve booked an awesome dinner!

:cool1:!!!!! 1 point! I would have been so upset if I guessed wrong.

The guessing game is SUCH a good idea for a PTR.

Sooooo, guess what I've been doing for the last hour? :rotfl: I love Disney trip videos. I love when they have a theme (like asking the CMs where they are from, having everyone raise their hands in the air), and I love even more when the song is chosen ahead of time and the people sang some of the lyrics/dance to it. My favorites are from the Wolfs family:

Wow! Sounds like an awesome day one! Chef Mickey's is awesome! It must be food critics who give it bad reviews :goodvibes
I'm going to need to think about this ADR, i need to get a point ::yes:: I'm so competitive!

Ah a trip video would be awesome! I wanted to make one last trip but I'm always too busy taking pictures to remember to video tape things.

I definitely want to watch the videos you linked! My youtube is being funny right now though (probably because I have 400 windows open) so I guess I have to wait til later.

Your arrival day plans sound awesome! I can't believe you've never used the DME luggage service before! Were you just afraid it was gonna get lost or did you always need it right away?

Hm for day 2 I'm gonna say you're eating at BoG!

I don't envy you the amount of time it takes for you to get to Disney!

I'm sure you are going to love the baggage service on DME! It is so convenient. Just remember that your bags will arrive at least an hour after you get to the resort so if there's anything you want right away, pack it in a carry on. I always bring a toothbrush and toothpaste so I can brush my teeth before heading to a park.

Yay, I got a point! I've only had breakfast at Chef Mickeys but it was really good. You will have to say hi to Pluto for me!

Ok, there's only one place that I think you will go at MK. It's got to be Be Our Guest. Especially because you Mom hasn't seen it yet!

Awesome day 1! No points for me yet :( Chef Mickey's is on my list to try too though, haven't eaten there since I was little! I have a list of places I still want to eat, but I'm trying to decide on the DDP plan in October or not. Kind of depends if I can get my fiance to come w/me. If I'm solo, I'm not sure the cost will be worth it. So he needs to make a decision because I need to make ADRs! Does he not know how important ADRs are?! :rotfl:

I was going to go with CRT or BOG for your next ADR. But I thought you've done CRT so I'll go with BOG!

Your first day sounds like its going to be a great time. I'll be sure to wave as we head back West as you come East (our layover is in Austin, TX). Well, no point for me but at least I was close with the acronym initials, haha! That's out first night dinner this trip too...no better way to kick off a Disney vacation than dinner with the fab five!! :yay:

I am going to have to go with BOG too for your 2nd dinner. Hopefully this will get me on the scoreboard!! :goodvibes

Hahah, I have to give credit to Shannon for the game!! She'a got it going on in her Ptr and I thought it was a cute idea!!

Woohoo point for me!!!!! I'll have to think hard about the next one!

It probably isnt that hard of a guess!! Hahaha but games to get people competive

Videos are great! Always wanted to do one but havet found the time and its so hard with just 2 people. I was always afraid of the luggage getting lost, its one more set of hands to go through and it freaks me out! Lol

I don't envy you the amount of time it takes for you to get to Disney!

I'll definitely be doing that! I usually have a spare change of clothes and everything in my carryon anyways! Definitely will do!

Joining in on this one too.

I'll be there solo 9/4-9/14. I'm doing MNSSHP on 9/10 and 9/13. I'm dying to wear the super awesome Rapunzel dress from the Etsy store where you bought your Alice costume, but I feel like it'd be super awkward being alone in a princess dress. :(

Joining in! I've lurked on a few of your TR's but for some reason never joined! I'm currently reading your November solo TR, because I'm thinking of doing my first solo trip this year, but I don't know...I'm scared to sleep in the room alone! Anyway, just wanted to say hi and I'm excited to read about your plans! :thumbsup2

Congrats on getting to go to the audition in June! My dream is to work for Disney someday, not as a performer, but in the resorts. I wish I did the DCP, but I didn't, so I guess I'll just have to move to Florida and start at the bottom and hope I can transfer into the resorts someday! I'm glad you are following your dream to be a parade performer, or in the shows! Being in FOTLK would be amazing!! Seeing that show makes me wish I didn't give up dancing in high school lol!

Your day 1 plans look great! POFQ's rooms have been updated, they now have this beautiful purple bedding! I'm hoping to stay there in December! :thumbsup2
