A No Snooze Bar Christmas, Harry & Mickey are Waiting..it is done

Trip Report Alert

Only 2 more days in the park, plus a day of travel home…the kids and I are taking a little vacation with my mom this week and I will not be updating until a week from today (July 30th). Looks like if I keep going on the pace I am going this TR will be wrapped up in the next month, I am determined to see it through…when it is done and over I will continue posting scrapbook pages as I get them done along with starting another PTR, maybe even 2 (if I can get the calendar to work in my favor for next summer).

Great update!! I'm hungry now!:rotfl:
I really wanted to eat and Rose & Crown, but it's not working into our plans this trip, but that's what next trip is for!!
That sticky Toffee stuff looks so good!!
I'm glad the heat lamps worked, I've always wondered if those things pumped out enough heat to actually help you not feel the cold!! I guess they do!:thumbsup2
It looks like you guys had such a great view of Illumination! I love Illuminations, and your pictures definately made me excited to watch them again in November! :goodvibes

We're leaving for our trip in 11 days, so if you could finish by then, it would be appreciated ;). Just kidding of course! I just wanted to say thank you so much for keeping me so entertained while waiting for our trip to come around! I'm very excited to see WWoHP in person - the boys have all been reading that section over my shoulder and can't wait to finally be there :cool1: I know the frozen Butterbeer will be just the thing on a hot August afternoon :thumbsup2

Once again, thanks for letting us share your family trip. Hope you get back soon!

Have a great trip! You might want to pack ponchos or an umbrella. We've been getting our share of late afternoon thunderstorms. Cools things off nicely afterwards!

I can't believe that it would seem I have fallen a week behind...AGAIN.

I am so sorry that it was too cold for the GM slushie in france. They are my favorite!

The Kaki Gori.. good on a hot day... not sure I could handle it on a cold one.

Oh :sad2: no baklava either? Well, to be honest it isn't the best I have ever tried... so maybe you didn't miss much.

I have always wanted to view illuminations like that. I have only ate at R&C once and honestly, we didn't care for it. So... we do the camp out thing.

Oh cool! even though I was a week behind, I see you were away for a week. I am all caught up and ready for the next update!!

I hope you had a great time with your mom!!

Rope Drop and EMH at MK

Before going to bed the night before I did a little packing a few loads of laundry, because on Friday we would be doing a little changing and I did not want to wait until tonight to get the bulk of packing done. When the kids went to sleep, they assured me that they wanted to do EMH at MK, so I got up early folded clothes and did a little more packing. Jeff decided that he was not so much into EMH and would meet us later at the park after he took care of some business back at home.

1busstopwaiting.jpg

So off the kids I went to the bus stop right about 7:00, we should have plenty of time to make it to RP. When the bus pulled up at MK people were just being let through the ticket gates so we were right on time to get a good place to watch the opening rope drop ceremony.

The kids really enjoyed the opening, just as I thought they would. As soon as we were allowed to enter we made our way straight to BuzzLightyear where we were able to ride twice in a row without any wait and pick up a set of fastpasses for later.

1hiddenmickey-1.jpg

Boo spotted this hidden Mickey as we waited in line…

1boys.jpg

I assure you that Goo is in this picture…

The boys then wanted to ride Astro Orbiter, which I was not so sure about but away we went up the elevator anyway. Man it is high from the loading platform. I had no idea what I was thinking but I let the boys get in the orbiter in front of Ab and myself alone…during the whole ride I hoped they would not doing something stupid and fall out, did I mention how high this ride is?

2boysuphigh.jpg

2abinfront.jpg

After coming back to the ground, we made our way to Space Mountain where it was now time to convince Goo that he was a big boy and could ride it! There were several time win the line, where I thought he was about to bolt (thank goodness for the video games),

1gameskeepbusy.jpg

but with lots of pushing he was loaded onto a rocket in front of me and I spent the whole ride leaning forward holding his hands. I wish I was quick enough to take a redneck picture of the ride photo (or even wish I had bought the silly thing) because our picture was classic…fear in his face and a death grip on my hands. After the ride was over, he thought he might like to ride again but when we went to get a set of fastpasses his bravery was past and no one wanted to ride again (the ride is way too jerky for us).

1boorides.jpg

I think we then rode Peoplemover and while on the ride Jeff called and was about to make his way to MK. We planned to meet in Adventureland so after another shooting round on Buzz we headed that direction and got to see

1nakedmickey.jpg

YIKES…Mickey with no pants on! The boys especially loved this…Once in Adventureland, the boys rode the Magic Carpets

1boysoncarpet.jpg

and Ab decided she needed a dole whip for breakfast and when the boys got off the ride they needed ice cream too for breakfast!

1dolewhip.jpg

We sat enjoying our treats to wait for dad to arrive, will he make it on his own?

Safe travels!

Hope you have a blast!

Thank you...we had a nice time, but I am glad to be home!

I am a newbie around here, but am loving your posts!!!

So glad you joined in!

Great update!! I'm hungry now!:rotfl:
I really wanted to eat and Rose & Crown, but it's not working into our plans this trip, but that's what next trip is for!!
That sticky Toffee stuff looks so good!!

It is so yummy!!!!!

I'm glad the heat lamps worked, I've always wondered if those things pumped out enough heat to actually help you not feel the cold!! I guess they do!:thumbsup2

A little too much head! :rotfl:
It looks like you guys had such a great view of Illumination! I love Illuminations, and your pictures definately made me excited to watch them again in November! :goodvibes

It is a really nice place to watch from, with no crowds! :thumbsup2

I am so glad I could help you pass the time...I know how hard waiting can be!

Think of me when you drink one! I hope the boys love it as much as my kids did!

Once again, thanks for letting us share your family trip. Hope you get back soon!

I can't believe that it would seem I have fallen a week behind...AGAIN.

I have not even attempted to open yours up...and I have a secret...now I really have to read your TR from DL!

I am so sorry that it was too cold for the GM slushie in france. They are my favorite!

Mine too....:sad2:

The Kaki Gori.. good on a hot day... not sure I could handle it on a cold one.

The boys can handle anything!

Oh :sad2: no baklava either? Well, to be honest it isn't the best I have ever tried... so maybe you didn't miss much.

It was a nice time, and we actually got along for the 4 days without any major melt downs! :thumbsup2

Great updates!
We let DS go on Astro Orbiter last year and I was terrified! That thing tilts so far to the side and is very high up! Not on my plans to ever ride again.

What's this about 2 more PTR to write after this gets finished????

Wow. Ok 69 pages. I don't think I'll ever catch up. I can't believe you had the endurance to keep going. Kudos! What day of the vacation are you on? I think the next time I'm in MK, I'll ride AstroOrbitors in your honor. I don't think I've ridden them since the 80s. But I love heights! (I'm weird)

Astro Orbiter is the only ride I have not ridden. I don't ever have plans to either. I do not like heights and while other coasters go high, I cannot make myself try this one.

Great update. Love the pictures. Glad he made it onto the ride and tried it. Space Mountain is one of my all time favorites.

Doing a little scrapbooking to unwind from the 1st day back at work...this page will be in an update later this week!

I don't think you realize exactly how high and how far this ride goes out until you ride on it...not on my redo list, but not letting the boys ride alone either! They nearly gave me a heartache as you can see Goo was leaning out...

My kids have about talked their dad into DL next summer and I have a trip in 13 months with some DIS friends.

Don't worry...I have an index to help you sort through! I love how your TR now reads abandoned...I swear I am going to see this one out! You can ride for me anytime!

While I like the darkness of the ride...it is just too jerky for my taste!

I can't believe your trip is winding down... I have really enjoyed reading your TR :) I haven't posted in a while because I got SOOO busy with school but have been able to keep up on your updates once a week or so. My planned upcoming trip got moved up by six months to January (instead of June) - HOORAY!! I found out that after I graduate in Dec it takes about a month before I can sit for my boards (for my NP license) so I can't start work as an NP till then sooo... we made the decision to go on vacation! My son will miss three days of school but he will be a senior and he has never missed school except for dire illness so I figure he deserves a few days off to do Disney when its not as crowded! Plus my hubby (my non-Disney hubby) is actually coming with us :scared1: :cloud9: Those symbols were supposed to represent me being happy and freaked out at the same time~! Looking foward to a few more postings!

Great update and scrap book page! Yum! Icecream and dole whip for breakfast.

Space Mt can really be terrifying for a first ride since you can't sit together. I don't know how you managed that ride leaning forward holding hands the whole time. It sure does whip you around and jerk.

A Fairy and A Pirate

Looking at the schedule, Tink was about to appear for meet and greet so Ab and I went to meet her while the boys took another magic carpet ride. When Ab was about 4 her favorite character was Tink…and I think she must be Tink's sister because the attitude is the same. This was a meet and greet that Ab insisted that she do, along with another one later in the day…so I was happy to wait in line with her and Tink did not disappoint.

1sheishere.jpg

It was instant girl chatter when the two of them got together. I have to again say, it really was nice to see her smile so much the last week after all the yuck we dealt with right before we left in regards to mean girls at school. After Tink we met up with the boys it was off to climb around Swiss Family Tree house

Shall we dance….

and then the Jungle Cruise where Jeff was introduced to what was keeping the kids in stitches the last couple of days, the bad jokes

1cruisewithdad.jpg

1butterflies.jpg

1head.jpg

(pictures of Boo’s favorite jokes…monarchs/rulers/foot and head hunter). Lucky for dad, the boys picked up a few more jokes to annoy him with the rest of the day. Departing the Jungle Cruise I noted the time and had something special for the boys planned next. We made our way to the stage in Adventureland, where I stood the boys just to the left of center and waited for the show to start.

1pickme.jpg

The boys had no idea who or what they were about to see, but shortly the crowds gathered and out came Captain Jack Sparrow, who took shining to the markings on Boo’s stocking cap (he wanted to know what such symbols these were…Texas A &M Logo and wanted to know if they were good pirates, cause he hears Texas pirates are not so tough) and pulled him out to see if pirates from Texas are as tough as they claim…

1captjackandhat.jpg

Boo was beaming the entire time

1allsmiles.jpg

and the crowd especially loved it when Captain Jack took off Boo’s hat and messed up his hair more, commenting that this boy is looking messy enough to be a pirate.

1upforit.jpg

1sure.jpg

1realsure.jpg

Although, when he got to be the one that dueled Captain Jack he took it a little too far…GRRR and decided he needed to win.

1fight2.jpg

1takethat.jpg

I love the fact that they had a photo pass photographer who captured so many great shots during the pirate lesson. In the end, Goo got to go on stage and be sworn in as a pirate, too!

So what is next on the touring plan?
