I'm Dana, 27, and a former WDW CM. I'm a walking information desk when it comes to MK :rotfl2: I'm tattooed, a geek, and a little weird, but my lovely friends over on the LTP threads seem to be dealing with that just fine :teeth: I'm very sarcastic, but, honestly, so is the rest of my family. I'm a baker and a horror movie fan. I currently work in retail, and am hoping that my DBF will be able to join me on this trip. I have no problem traveling alone, but it'd be nice to have him come with.

Okay, so, since I have nothing else to do right now, I'm going to post our general itinerary.

As we don't yet know when we're going, I'm going to put up an itinerary for December, since that's when my mom most wants to go. If we go in October or November, the itinerary will change slightly, but probably not by much. We haven't spent Christmas with my sister since 2005, before she moved to Idaho, and have never spent Christmas with my niece. I'm also sure that not everyone will want to have my itinerary :rolleyes1 Obviously, we won't know what exactly our itinerary will be until closer to the trip, but this is our initial plan. We don't know when the Christmas parties will be, but at some point, we're going to be going to MVMCP and that'll be our family Christmas thing.

At some point over the course of the trip, I want our parents to be able to go to one of the signature restaurants and have a dinner for just themselves. My dad wants to go to Artist Point, and I think my mom wants to go to Narcoossee's.

I also know that the whole group of us will NOT be eating together the whole time, but these are the reservations I personally want to make, and anyone from the group who wants to join me can, and anyone who wants to go elsewhere can do that, too.

December 3-9, 2012

Monday, December 3 - Travel day. I want to keep plans as open as possible for this day. I'm not sure what our flights will look like yet. I want to fly out of Chicago early, so I'm hoping that my parents, brother, and his DGF will be willing to catch the 6am flight out of Midway. We always fly Southwest. I have absolutely no clue what Becky's family's flight will look like, since I don't know what airline they'd choose, and I also don't know if there are any direct flights from Boise to Orlando. Anyway, we'll probably have lunch at Pop and then just screw around at the resort (relax, swim, unpack, etc) until we go to dinner. I'd like for us to go to 1900 Park Fare at the Grand, since I've never been there, but have heard good things about it. Also, it's character dining, so it'd be a good way for us to make the transition from "oh god traveling are we there yet WHY AREN'T WE THERE YET" to "OMG YAY DISNEY". At least, for me. :teeth:

As a surprise, I'm planning on ordering us a custom cake from the Grand Floridian bakery to be delivered during dinner. I haven't decided on a design yet, but am leaning toward something with penguins and Christmas-y things on it. I'm an amateur baker, so I love surprising people with cake or other sweet things for special (or just random) occasions.

Tuesday, December 4 - Magic Kingdom! I want this to be Jade's first park, since it's the iconic park for the Florida properties. Since my mom wants to do deluxe dining, I have us down on my spreadsheet for three meals at MK. Crystal Palace for a pre-opening breakfast, Casey's for a light lunch, and then CRT for dinner. This is the park I worked at, so I'm a walking map when it comes to getting around MK. We'll try to hit all the big rides early and then everything else later in the day. My goal for the day is to get a picture of EVERYONE in front of the castle. I also want to take Jade to BBB. My mom and sister and Josh's DGF and I might join her, but we're not sure yet.

Wednesday, December 5 - Epcot! I really think that my family will love Epcot. This plan is for December, not for if we go during F&W, which would make it change a lot. We'd go to breakfast at Akershus, do something light at Sunshine Seasons, and then dinner at Le Cellier. I definitely want to take everyone on Spaceship Earth and make sure we all watch Illuminations.

Thursday, December 6 - DHS! Breakfast at Pop, lunch at Backlot, dinner at Sci-Fi. First things first, TOY STORY. My family's a bunch of geeks and we're all fairly competitive, so I really think they'll all love that ride. After that, definitely the Indiana Jones show and the major rides. My brother loves Indy, so I think he'd kill me if we missed it :lmao:

Friday, December 7 - DAK! Breakfast at Tusker House, snacks in the middle of the day, and then a late dinner at Chef Mickey's after DAK closes. I definitely want to take my brother and sister on Everest, and I think Jade will love Kilimanjaro. My mom went on Everest and thinks my dad would love it, but he hasn't been on it yet (when I was living in Orlando, my mom came down by herself and then my dad came down a couple months later).

Saturday, December 8 - MK again! We'll likely do Kona or 'Ohana for breakfast, skip lunch, and then dinner at Liberty Tree. That would be our "Christmas dinner", so we can move it to whatever day the Christmas party is that we'll be going to. Whatever we didn't get to the first day at MK, we'll do this day.

Sunday, December 9 - Travel day :) Breakfast at Pop and lunch at Captain's Grille before we leave for the airport :(

So, that's our tentative plan for December. We'll see how things change when we finally make a decision on when we're going.

Glad I motivated you to post an update lol

I'm still working on our scrapbook from October :sad2: so I'm going to try and start my PTR for July 2012 tonight or tomorrow.

:rotfl: I had it typed up, I just hadn't posted it yet. But it's posted now, so yay :yay:

I don't have a scrapbook :lmao: But link me when you start your new PTR!

So, I know I haven't posted in here since JULY, but there really isn't much news to post. I'm the only one who's really excited about the trip. My sister keeps saying "Well, we'll see", my brother isn't particularly interested, and my parents are interested, but my dad's concerned about the cost (he's a miser, I swear to god).

It might turn out to be just me. However, if it does, I don't think I'll be going alone. I've been seeing this fantastic guy for the last almost two months and it's going really well. :lovestruc We've both stated that we're not going anywhere (I'd made a comment about wanting him to meet my best friend), so I have a feeling that this trip will be me and him, and possibly my parents. His name's Mike, he's my age (actually eleven days younger than me), and is just as big a geek as I am. He hasn't been to Disney since he was 5, and has actually said that he's jealous of me for having worked there and been as a guest in recent years. So we'll see what happens :)

That's us at a party on Saturday. He was Spock from Star Trek and I was a witch.

Also, we did cut one of the potential trip dates. I'm currently working in retail and my store blacks out day off requests and vacation requests after November 12. So if I'm still working there next year, we'll either have to go in October or November.

yay! glad things are going well! good luck =)

i will need a miracle but I'd love to go twice next year....our family trip in july and then again in either October or early December for my birthday again... we'll have to see what we can afford.

PS you're witch costume is cute!

Thanks! :teeth:

It would be awesome to do a Dismeet again :rolleyes1 I wish I could go in December, but I won't be able to get that time off work unless I change jobs and get out of the retail industry.

:lmao: Thanks! I really liked that costume :) I had it on with fishnets and combat boots and Mike apparently really liked the fishnets :teeth:

So then would you be doing this trip and the gamers meet or just the one. Or extending it through the whole two months? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Glad you two are happy!

Glad things are going so well for you! :thumbsup2 I can't believe your family isn't more excited about the thought of going to Disney! But if it's just you and Mike, that will be fun too! :cool1: I love your costume, it's so cute! I didn't dress up this year, I was boring. Maybe next year! :rotfl:

Yeah, I'm going no matter what, it just depends on if anyone else goes (but if Mike comes with, that would be fantabulous :teeth:). I was thinking about asking my best friend if she'd be interested in going, but she just found out she's pregnant, so she'll have a 4 month old to deal with by the time the trip rolls around (she's due in June and we're going to throw her a baby shower in early May).

Man, I LOVE Halloween. Like, seriously, if I ever get married, not only will it be at WDW, it'll be around Halloween (if I have my way :rolleyes1). It's seriously my second favorite holiday. Maybe next year, you and your DH could come down around the same time we're looking at going and we can do a Dismeet at MNSSHP and all dress up as Mousekeeters! :teeth:

:lmao: I'm losing track of things now! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Considering everything you're dealing with right now, you have some leeway, dear :)

So, I'm about to run out the door go to see DBF, but I just wanted to post a quick update to this.

My sister has told me that she's going to be moving soon, since she can't find a job in her field where she's at and the closest she CAN find is three hours away. So she, her DBF, and my niece are most likely out.

My dad has decided not to take a semester off next fall. There's no way he'd be willing to take two days off to go on vacation. He's also extremely cheap and not willing to pay for his part of the trip. So he's out.

My mom doesn't have the money, since her company is closing several stores and she's concerned that hers will be next. So she's out.

My brother doesn't have any interest anymore, and his girlfriend won't go without him, so they're out.

My uncle has no interest, so he's out.

My grandmother can't travel alone and my aunt has no interest, so they're out.

Basically, this leaves me. Looks like another solo trip :lmao: If DBF and I are still together next summer, I'm sure he'd come with, but we've only been together a couple of months, so I'm not saying yes or no on him yet.

Because this is now a solo trip, I have firm dates!

I'm going to be in WDW from October 26 to November 1, 2012, will be staying at Pop, and will be on the dining plan :dance3:

Wow! When I saw this, I thought hmmmm I don't remember subbing to this TR!

Sorry your family is so apathetic.
