Good afternoon and hello everyone!

As of right now, nothing is booked. But once we have our points deposited in the Southwest card, real plans will begin. DBF was gracious and wonderful enough to apply for the SW card and get us 50k points to apply towards our airfare; this is really helping to make the trip possible. Add to that a wonderful gifting of a cheap but spacious timeshare and you have the makings of a wonderful trip!

I don't have any children; as such, I'm going to need advice on what to do with them at the World, as well as places they might like to eat and things we can do together both in and out of the park. Also, I'll need help with what to do when one gets crabby or doesn't want to ride. So please join me with all your advice as I start the "heavy duty" planning for this trip with the kids!

So here's what I know:

- Three kids, aged 12, 11, and 8. DNephew, DNehpew, and DNiece!
- Staying at a Mariott timeshare for a super-cheap price. For a week! When I called, everything was open, so we're good to go at this point. But time's a-wastin'!
- Dates: either 6/1-6/8 or 8/11-8/18 - no decision yet, some things are on hold until the SW pts hit and I can actually book flights.
- Rental car: paid for with credit card points
- Fun: guaranteed!

My nephew (12) and I went to WDW last Oct, I usually go alone but having DN with me was probably the best trip I have had

That's awesome to hear! I just went alone in October and loved it, and I'm totally wondering how it will be to have kids with me - I haven't been with kids since I was one myself. And I won't only have one, I'll have three. Oh boy.

So what did your nephew especially like? One of the kids is 12 and I'm really wondering what he'll think since he's almost aged out of the "kid" experience.

joining in!

Hello, and welcome. Please feel free to share any advice you might have.

Looking forward to your TR. Just curious but where did you book your timeshare at? I have some family joining me on our next trip and they were looking into timeshares. I haven't been able to find any Marriott timeshare rentals.

I haven't booked the timeshare quite yet, but I called for availability and was told they had "hundreds" for the dates I asked about.

As for exactly where I got the timeshare, my grandma owns through Interval International, who has Marriott timeshares available. She put me on her account as someone who has permission to book through her name, so that's how I got the possibility. I hadn't even thought about asking her when I first started budgeting for this trip, so this was such a lucky circumstance. She's being very generous!

Thanks for the quick reply! Back to searching...

I am driving myself completely nuts trying to work out airfare. I can't book a single thing until the bonus points hit our credit card, and that will probably be at least a week, but possibly up to 6!!! And then where will the airfare be? Will it be a lot more expensive? If so, I may not be able to pull off the trip.

So I need those points in my SW Chase card account, stat!

It's been awhile since I said anything on here.

The reason?

I just don't know what's going to happen.

I finally figured out a budget that worked, and I could take the kids - and then the airfare started to climb and I'm still waiting on my Southwest bonus points to post to the account so I can use them to get some of the plane tickets. We can't do the trip without the plane, so I've been anxiously awaiting these points!

I'm nervous now that I won't get a good place, good ticket prices, good airfare, etc.

It's a waiting game that is driving me NUTS. But I'm definitely still in the running to take the kids this summer!

Hi, I was just wondering what decision you ended up making about the trip this summer with your nieces and nephews?
