Today was our free day. There aren't a ton of pictures from today, but there are a few. Since this was our only free day, we decided to sleep in a little. Well, at least as much as Addy would let us. She's not much for sleeping in, so we were up around 7:30 anyway. We took our time getting ready and decided that we were going to try to go to Downtown Disney. As it turned out, "TRY" became the main point of this statement.
First, we tried to catch a bus, but no Downtown Disney buses seemed to be coming, so we decided to walk up to the front of the resort and take a boat ride (Port Orleans has a boat that goes to Downtown Disney). We didn't wait too long for the boat, but as the captain pulled up and saw us all standing there, he got a kind of funny look on his face. Once he got docked, he explained to all of us that he coudn't take us to Downtown Disney because the dock there was blocked off. We were all a little confused, but then he said that the local authorities were involved

! At this point, we were all a bit curious, but he swore that he didn't know anything else.
We decided to go ahead and take the boat to the French Quarter and look around there. We were also hoping that we might have better luck catching a bus from there. However, once we got there, there didn't seem to be any buses going to Downtown Disney. We never did find out exactly what was going on, but it must have been pretty serious because another captain told us that the whole place was swarming with cops. I have to wonder if they possibly shut the buses down for a while as well, although no one could confirm this for us.
We decided that we were starving (it was probably after noon at this point), so we went to check out the French Quarter food court. My mom and I got taco salads, and DH got a Muffaleta sandwich and Beignets. We got grilled cheese kids meals for both of the girls. Addy loves grilled cheese and can eat an entire sandwich by herself at home, so we figured we better get her one for herself. The food was all pretty good, but nothing exceptional.
Once we were done eating, we decided to head back to the resort. We took a boat back, and Addy was getting tired by then, so my mom decided they would head back to the room for a nap. Anna still wanted to ride Big Thunder Mountain a second time, so we decided to head to the Magic Kingdom until our dinner at 1900 Park Fare.
I took a few more pictures of the fall decorations
And a picture of Anna.........she wasn't really in the mood to have her picture taken.
We were finally able to ride Big Thunder again, but we had a little while before the fast passes were good, so we decided to get a little snack and rest for a while. We grabbed some jelly beans and found a spot in the shade. The parade was starting shortly, but we weren't planning on watching it. There were some people who were very happy to have our seats when we headed off to Big Thunder. Anna loved it just as much this time as the first time. I actually enjoyed it a little more this time because we were a little more able to pay attention to the scenery. Disney does such a great job with all of this.
Then, we decided to check out the line for Splash Mountain (that's right, Anna wanted to go AGAIN

). It had a pretty long wait, and the fastpasses were for a time after our ADR, so we just decided that we'd take a train ride back to the front entrance and meet up with mom and Addy. However, we decided that we needed a few pictures in front of Splash first, since it was Anna's favorite.
We pretty much had perfect timing, because my mom called to say that she and Addy were at the gate at pretty much the exact same time the train made it to the front of the park. We all jumped on the monorail and headed for the Grand Floridian.
