A newbie, a nana, two princess, and......the Planner! (Updated 1/4--DTD & head home)

We didn't visit the troll last year, but we did before. I tell DH that the troll is so ugly hes cute. Hehe. We have never ate at the mexican place b/c I'm not a huge fan of mexican. Also I have heard very mixed reviews about their food. I'm glad you liked it though. Where was your dh's pink shirt with the mickey princess ears? :rotfl2: j/k I couldn't resist saying something though. Just couldn't convince him huh? I have never seen that waterfall...we really need to spend more time in the countries and explore them more so we can see stuff like that. Last year when we walked around the world we actually pin traded around the whole world, which was a lot of fun. I think I walked out of epcot that day with about 20 new pins. We're huge into the pin trading. I have two cork boards in my spare bedroom hanging up that are plastered in pins and also have a few of the pin books that are filled cover to cover. :scared1: We have quite a few! Hehe. DH sometimes buys them from ebay or disney shopping for me as surprises. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip around the world!

Be sure to go back and check out the last post. I don't think I was done with it yet when you saw it. I usually save it part way through so that I don't lose it (our computer does weird things sometimes). It turns out that photobucket was uploading the pictures backwards, so they're not in order. Oh well..........we didn't spend much time in any country either.

The pin trading around the World is a great idea....maybe DH and I will have to do that this time around. We really got into the pins while we were there too. We just have to find some kind of a display case for them now. At the end of the report, I'll post pictures of the pins we got.

More pictures as we passed through each country.

I just caught upp great updates and i love the shirts you and Anna had on!

Thanks.........those shirts were kind of last minute. Anna saw them on the DISign thread and had to have one, so I had to go find us some more t-shirts. She loves anything that has to do with princesses.

I don't have time to finish up the World Showcase just yet, but here's a couple of ride photos that I finally got uploaded today. They are pictures of pictures, so they're not great, but they turned out pretty clear.

Ok, let's see if we can get this finished up.

DH kept seeing people walking around with beer mugs from Germany, so he decided tha the HAD to have one. He has a thing for mugs, and we're from a very strong German background, so he thought this was pretty cool.
DisneyWorld540.jpg

When we got to Japan and saw the Kaki Gori stand, I knew Anna would want one, so we headed in that direction. She loves snow cones, and this was no exception.
DisneyWorld542.jpg

We did a little more walking around Japan.
DisneyWorld543.jpg

DisneyWorld544.jpg

Adam thought the statue was cool and decided he (and his beer mug) needed a picture in front of it.

We finished up Japan..........

and headed into Morocco.

After this, we basically just finished our walking tour. Anna was getting a little tired of walking at this point, so we pretty much just kept going and tried to snap some pictures along the way.

DisneyWorld554.jpg

Now, I did have to stop for a Grey Goose slush. I had read so many great reviews of this that I just couldn't resist.
DisneyWorld557.jpg

It was well worth it. This was really good!

By the time we made it all the way around, we were all pretty tired and ready to sit down. It was still a while before our ADR, but we decided to check and see if they could seat us early. We walked up and they told us they could seat us in a few minutes........by the time Anna and I made a stop in the restroom, the table was ready.

DisneyWorld580.jpg

I thought the ceiling here was pretty interesting. The whole restaurant actually has a nice theme to it, and Anna really enjoyed watching all of the fish.
DisneyWorld581.jpg

DisneyWorld582.jpg

One of the nice things here was that you could order drinks besides pop with the dining plan. Anna had a strawberry smoothie. However, she saw the light up Tinkerbelle on the menu and really wanted one, so we talked to the waiter and he agreed to give us the smoothie with the Tinkerbelle. I had a nonalcoholic frozen raspberry pina coloda. It came out with a smiley face on top :) .
DisneyWorld583.jpg

I don't have any pictures of most of our food here, but we enjoyed our meal. For appetizers, DH had the land and sea and I had the Caesar salad. Anna ate most of my croutons and had carrots and celery sticks.

For our main courses, DH had the steak which he said was good but not great. I had the grilled chicken breast and substituted the cashew jasmine rice. I loved the rice, and the chicken was very good as well. It was a large serving and wasn't at all dry. Anna had the kids mahi-mahi, and she ate the WHOLE piece of fish. I was shocked because she really hadn't been eating well.

For dessert, DH had the Bailey's and Jack Daniel's mousse which he loved.
DisneyWorld585.jpg

I had the chocolate wave. I was really looking forward to this because I had heard many good things about it, and I love chocolate. I did order the cherries on the side because I'm not a fan of brandy.
DisneyWorld584.jpg

I have to say that I was a little disappointed. It was ok, but it was pretty dry. It might be better with some ice cream, but it just really didn't do anything for me. I did try one of the cherries, and they had a very strong brandy flavor......made me very glad that I ordered them on the side.

Anna had the kids sundae. Here, the kids get to decorate it themselves.
Anna made a smiley face with the M & Ms.
DisneyWorld586.jpg

Then she realized that it didn't have a nose, so she had to make some adjustments.
DisneyWorld587.jpg

When we finished dinner, we decided to use our Test Track fastpasses.

Ok, lets finish up this day. We headed for Test Track and spent a little time convincing Anna that she would enjoy it. I told her that it wasn't nearly as scary as Splash Mountain because I knew there were no big drops or anything. Turned out that she absolutely loved it and we were all glad that we got to ride since they'd been closing it off and on during the day due to the rain.
image336.jpg

By the time we got off, we were all ready to turn in for the day. We headed for the bus and went back to the hotel. The next day was our free day, so we knew that we weren't going to have to get up early or rush anywhere.

Great WS pics!!! :thumbsup2 Looks like you guys had a blast over there! The drinks look yummy too! The Gray Goose is lemon flavored right? I need to make a list of yummy drinks to try on the WS tour. :goodvibes

It looks/sounds like you had a wonderful day at Epcot...I know what ya mean by feeling tired after walking around the world. I like to try and do the front half of the park on one day and then maybe just breeze through the countries and then come back another day and do just the countries. I just get so freakin' tired and disinterested....I have the attention span of a five year old. Lol. Not quite, but when I am getting tired...that often tends to happen. We love coral reef! Most so for watching the fish and the atmosphere than the food...the food isn't bad at all, but its not top notch always either. This past dec when we went dh had custom menus made for us as a suprise and had pictures of the previous yr when we got engaged at crt and a few of our fave disney pics and also pics of our wiener dog. I said why did you include pics of zoey? He said b/c I knew you would be missing her. My dh is awesome! Hehe. So how was the german beer did your dh say? I'm not a huge drinker and I am picky about beer, but it is nice to have a drink sometimes. I think I might try that grey goose thing next time we go. You and several others have mentioned it so now I think I must try! :thumbsup2 Was it delicious? Also was it strong? Because I hate strong drinks...I like them light and fruity...I don't like to be able to taste the booze. That happened on our disney cruise and I was sleeping about 20 minutes later. Sadly I am a light weight. Lol. :rotfl2: Only two more days and I will be going back to ohio to see my family! I am super excited! :yay: Just what I need a trip home to see my best friend, her baby, my family and my puppy! That will cheer me up and we're going to get our christmas tree out of storage and bring it back since we're going to be here all of dec. :thumbsup2 What are you doing for thanksgiving? Can't wait for another update! Hope you had an awesome weekend!

Great updates! I can't wait to have a grey goose slushie and a kaki-gori and...well, all the other food! :) And see all the countries and such. Looks like you guys had a fun day! :)

Yeah....I tried the iron-on transfer thing and botched that up pretty good...Just not my talent! I'm still not sure how I did it but it wound up stuck to the iron!!! Good thing irons are cheaper nowadays! ;)

are you autograph pages printed on picture paper, or what kind of paper? They look shinny

Just wanted to stop by and tell everyone Happy Thanksgiving. I'll be back tomorrow with personals and another update.

The Grey Good is lemon flavored......I was worried that I might not like it because I'm not a fan of thngs that taste like alcohol, but this was really good. I'm planning on trying the orange flavored one that they have next time. I'm looking forward to trying a few more drinks in January since we'll be child free that time.

We did have a good time. I'm honestly not much of a drinker either, so it doesn't take very much for me to feel it. Ever since I had the girls, I just can't handle hardly any liquor. The grey goose slush was really good, and not too strong. I'm not much of a beer drinker (basically I don't drink it at all), but DH seemed to enjoy the one that he got.

I hope you're having a GREAT time with your family! We went to my grandparents who live here in town, so we didn't do any traveling. We also went to see my DH's grandmother who is in the hospital. Not fun, but we needed to see her because she isn't doing well. I felt bad though because we couldn't take the girls to see her because she's in isolation.

Great updates! I can't wait to have a grey goose slushie and a kaki-gori and...well, all the other food! :) And see all the countries and such. Looks like you guys had a fun day! :)

Both drinks were really good. I think the kaki-gori was the best snow cone I've ever had. DD wasn't real thrilled about sharing, but I did get a few bites.

I used my mom's iron to do our shirts, but luckily they all turned out pretty well. I'm going to do a few for our trip in January, but not nearly as many as we did for this trip. I haven't been able to find too many DISigns that fit for a honeymoon.

Looking forward to reading more popcorn::

Hi! It's nice to have you along.....there's more coming today, I promise!

Love reading your trip report!!! Can't wait to read more!!!

Glad you're enjoying it. I'm going to work on the next update now, if DD #2 will let me  .

Today was our free day. There aren't a ton of pictures from today, but there are a few. Since this was our only free day, we decided to sleep in a little. Well, at least as much as Addy would let us. She's not much for sleeping in, so we were up around 7:30 anyway. We took our time getting ready and decided that we were going to try to go to Downtown Disney. As it turned out, "TRY" became the main point of this statement.

First, we tried to catch a bus, but no Downtown Disney buses seemed to be coming, so we decided to walk up to the front of the resort and take a boat ride (Port Orleans has a boat that goes to Downtown Disney). We didn't wait too long for the boat, but as the captain pulled up and saw us all standing there, he got a kind of funny look on his face. Once he got docked, he explained to all of us that he coudn't take us to Downtown Disney because the dock there was blocked off. We were all a little confused, but then he said that the local authorities were involved :scared1: ! At this point, we were all a bit curious, but he swore that he didn't know anything else.

We decided to go ahead and take the boat to the French Quarter and look around there. We were also hoping that we might have better luck catching a bus from there. However, once we got there, there didn't seem to be any buses going to Downtown Disney. We never did find out exactly what was going on, but it must have been pretty serious because another captain told us that the whole place was swarming with cops. I have to wonder if they possibly shut the buses down for a while as well, although no one could confirm this for us.

We decided that we were starving (it was probably after noon at this point), so we went to check out the French Quarter food court. My mom and I got taco salads, and DH got a Muffaleta sandwich and Beignets. We got grilled cheese kids meals for both of the girls. Addy loves grilled cheese and can eat an entire sandwich by herself at home, so we figured we better get her one for herself. The food was all pretty good, but nothing exceptional.

Once we were done eating, we decided to head back to the resort. We took a boat back, and Addy was getting tired by then, so my mom decided they would head back to the room for a nap. Anna still wanted to ride Big Thunder Mountain a second time, so we decided to head to the Magic Kingdom until our dinner at 1900 Park Fare.

I took a few more pictures of the fall decorations

DisneyWorld591.jpg

And a picture of Anna.........she wasn't really in the mood to have her picture taken.
DisneyWorld588.jpg

We were finally able to ride Big Thunder again, but we had a little while before the fast passes were good, so we decided to get a little snack and rest for a while. We grabbed some jelly beans and found a spot in the shade. The parade was starting shortly, but we weren't planning on watching it. There were some people who were very happy to have our seats when we headed off to Big Thunder. Anna loved it just as much this time as the first time. I actually enjoyed it a little more this time because we were a little more able to pay attention to the scenery. Disney does such a great job with all of this.

Then, we decided to check out the line for Splash Mountain (that's right, Anna wanted to go AGAIN :) ). It had a pretty long wait, and the fastpasses were for a time after our ADR, so we just decided that we'd take a train ride back to the front entrance and meet up with mom and Addy. However, we decided that we needed a few pictures in front of Splash first, since it was Anna's favorite.
DisneyWorld592.jpg

DisneyWorld593.jpg

DisneyWorld594.jpg

We pretty much had perfect timing, because my mom called to say that she and Addy were at the gate at pretty much the exact same time the train made it to the front of the park. We all jumped on the monorail and headed for the Grand Floridian.
