Well, Sunday rolled around, and both DDs seemed to be doing at least a little better. We managed to get my mom picked up on time and stuff all of the luggage in the back of the van. I drove the first half of the trip, my mom sat up front with me, and DH sat in the middle row with DD #2 and watched Sesame Street

. DD #2 sat in the very back row and watched the Disney channel for pretty much the entire trip.
We drove to the first major city......which took us three hours, and decided to stop to have lunch because it was after 2. We ate at one of my favorite places--The Olive Garden. I admit, not very gourmet, but not someplace I get to eat very often, and I LOVE IT!!!! There will be some food pictures in my report, but none from here I'm afraid. DD #1 still wasn't feeling herself, so she didn't eat very much. DD #2, on the other hand, probably ate more than me. Nothing seems to stop her from eating.
After lunch, we made a quick run into Babies R Us to grab a few last minute items for the trip. Then, we all piled back into the van and continued our drive. It took us about another hour to get to my cousin's house, and then she drove us to our hotel. It was the Radisson Airport in Kansas City, and it was NOT a very pleasant hotel. I was complaining about it to my friend, but she was kind enough to remind me that we would only be there one night, and then we would be in Disney World

!
So, we got set up with the shuttle for 5:40 in the morning

and all went to bed. I knew it wasn't going to be a whole lot of fun to get either DD up that either (or DH either for that matter), but it had to be done. I hadn't flown in several years, DH hadn't flown in over 10 years, my mom hadn't flown in 20 years, and neither DD had ever flown. No one was familiar with regulations, check in, etc, so that made me a little nervous.
I got up about 5 and took my shower.......then I dragged DH out of bed and he helped me get the girls ready. At about 5:30, the girls and I made our way downstairs and DH and my mom tried to get all of the luggage loaded on a cart. I kind of had to hold the shuttle because it took FOREVER for DH to get down. There was only one other person on our shuttle, so it was a pretty quiet ride.
We did curb side check in with our bags and realized we were missing a bag

.........it was an important one too because it had DD #2's blanket in it. We called the hotel and they said they'd send the shuttle back over ASAP with our bag. DH waited outside and mom and I made our way in with the girls. We got in line for security, and luckily had no problems......they did go through my mom's carry on bag, but I think that's only because she had her portable DVD player in it and it was really heavy.
DH showed up shortly thereafter, and we all got settled in to wait for our flight.
As you can see, DD already looked much better

......thank goodness! The flight was completely full, but luckily we had "A" boarding passes, so we didn't really have any trouble finding two rows of seats close together. We didn't know this when we got DD #2 her own seat, but it turned out that she had to be in the seat next to the window since we were using her carseat, so she sat next to the window, I sat in the middle, and DH sat on the end of our row. My mom and DD #1 sat in the row directly across from us, with DD next to the window.
An older woman sat in the third row in that seat which was nice because DD spent most of the flight yelling things across the aisle to me

.
DD #2 fell asleep almost immediately when the flight took off, and slept for about the first hour.
The flight was very smooth, and the view was just gorgeous.
When DD did wake up, she wasn't in the best of moods,
but shortly thereafter they brought our snack,
and having something to eat made her happy again.
The flight was just short of three hours, and had the smoothest landing of any flight I've ever been on. We made our way to baggage claim and started looking for our driver.
Up next..........where the heck is our driver
