Said before, but it bears repeating, kids: some -- certainly not all -- CMs have taken the "act" to an unwelcome extreme. I've seen it (heck, I've even gone to Ad/Lib managers about it), and some of you have seen it.
Do I believe that these antics have prompted guest complaints? Heck yes -- I've been shocked and astonished by some CM behavior I've seen at the HM in recent months.
Do I believe that the CMs, when called out by management, have claimed that they weren't acting rude, but acting "in character?" Again, yes -- some CMs will lie their butts off to management when the fat's in the fire. Very few CMs -- heck, few people, period -- will take responsibility for their actions when called out (and before you say it: of course I don't mean you... but then again, I just might).
Do I believe that a script may, in fact, be implemented for HM CMs? Yes, but I don't think it will be very strongly enforced -- not nearly as much as, say, the Jungle Cruise script is (which is to say: not very). Rather, I think it will exist so when a guest complaint is received, management has a tool to use against the offending CM (i.e. claiming the CM was off-script).
Of course, this is just conjecture and opinion. I could be (and likely am) wrong.
