A New Low in Adult Behavior at a Disney Resort

:scared1:You did the right thing and I would have reported these people to the cast members. I don't think they should be happy about a naked child running around the property let alone getting in the hot tub.

I agree 100% here.

Please! Parents: no child under 80 lbs should go into a hot tub. If they are curious, let them sit at the edge and dangle their legs in there. They simply do not have enough "insulation" to regulate the temperature that their organs are exposed to in a 104 deg (or more) hot tub.

Please! Disney, the policy is simple: clothing is NOT optional at ANY age. If it's OK for a 4 yo, how about a 6 yo? 8? 35? 85? (sorry for the visual on the last one)

Please! Everyone else: if you see a child in this situation, and you feel comfortable doing so, address it immediately. If you get a jerk like this parent. Go to a Crew Member. If you get a blank stare, ask for a manager. I know it's a lot to ask of someone trying to enjoy a vacation but, in this situation, it seems like nobody else will do what's right for the child if you don't.

Not to pick on Penn St (although it appears they may deserve it) but: don't be a JoPa. That situation is far more serious but still...

Wow, that is unbelievable! There are some truly crazy parents out there

We are so much a nation of laws (that which is not forbidden is condoned) that we forget that it is community and consensus which establishes what is acceptable.

Kevin, thank you for standing up to a bully. A selfless and courageous act which, if done more often, reminds the small percentage of selfish pigs that they have no choice but to live in community with others. Bravo.

So that's why "slap" is part of your board name. ;)

Kevin, you were right for speaking up! How many people would do that for a child? You are the best
Kevin the Slapper!!!
Kevin, I agree with all. You did a great job, because most people would of just looked the other way.

This story is wrong on so many levels...

First - a naked child in a public area - WRONG
2nd - the father belittling the child - WRONG AGAIN
3rd - the comments to you - get a life dude !!!!

Kevin and John, I am so sorry about this happened to you. I"m not so sure I would have handled it so well........

This just goes to show that some people should not be parents

I can't wrap my mind around why they wanted to put their kid in the tub when they were both fully clothed? It almost sounds like "You didn't behave today so now it's the boiling for you!"

I asked if this was the Disney / Aulani policy and was it ok if I splashed around the kiddie pool naked......as long as I enjoyed myself and carried myself in an appropriate manner.

All I can think of here is "Do you not want us to have a table because I'm in a wheelchair?" (paraphrased, because I'm not sure I remember Mrs. Klose's exact awesome quote). I think your mom would be pleased to know she passed along her fearlessness, Kevin. Wish I had more of it, myself. :flower3:

Just so sorry you had this rotten experience in, what sounds like, should have been a relaxing part of your day.

Tammy

I think "The Hot Tub Incident" would make a good Tom Clancy novel: Special Agent Kevin Klose goes undercover at a posh Hawaiian resort to infiltrate a band of Russian spies whose goal is to sterilize America's youth by dipping them in boiling water. Will Agent Klose succeed in foiling the plot, or will The Hot Tub Incident leave him all wet?

And yes, I know, I am very strange.

And we don't blink an eyelash at that admission.

I can't help but wonder if the parents didn't have a hidden agenda here. Sending a naked child into a hot tub with two unknown males? Were they looking to set up a situation where they could claim foul play and make false accusations? Maybe looking to get Disney to give them something? This whole situation smells bad to me. I think you were wise to get the heck out of there.

Doesn't sound sanitary to me. Some people shouldn't be allowed to reproduce!

I just realized that I forgot to give kudos to Kevin for doing something. Continue speaking up! Good job.

OMG Kevin how awlful. That man was just an ___. you fill in the blank bad word. Dont waste another moments thought on him or the rest of the redneck clan. A naked baby in a hot tub. Stupid stupid stupid.

Where they from the US? Many overseas countries see nothing wrong with being nake and they do not understand our laws on this. If they were from the US, they were just plain wrong and do not deserve to have children. Either way, the one to be conserned about is the child. If this is what they do in public I cannot image what happens at home. They should be reported.

Sorry....i completely disagree with this.

While I am not a world traveler, I have been to a couple of other countries and I still obey the laws and try to conform to the culture I'm visiting.

Ignorance of the law is not a viable defense.

These folks were not from another country.

They were just ill behaved folks that got really nasty when it was pointed out that what they were doing was wrong, disruptive and potentially harmful.
