I'm going to attempt a quick update as I have got to concentrate on updating the "Unofficial" CSR thread as it is past it's "supposed" limited number of pages.
So, the last I wrote, Mark and I had a DIS meet at the Dig Site and headed back to the room to get ready for the
MNSSHP--our FIRST ever.
We drove to the MK and this is what greeted us as we reached the Parking lot:
We arrived at the MK right around 5 p.m. We got our wristbands and our trick or treat bags. This is one of the first things we saw as we walked under the train tracks towards Main Street:
Main Street was very crowded with people arriving and people leaving. We were hungry, so we headed over to Columbia Harbor House for dinner.
We took our time walking over as we looked at all the costumes the little kids were in -- too cute.
We arrived at Columbia Harbor House and it was empty. I have NEVER seen this retaurant empty. We ordered our food and got our condiments and went upstairs to get a table.
I had the shrimp platter:
Mark had the fish platter:
The food was very good for "fast food" and we enjoyed our meal here as we always do.
Mark had the apple crisp for dessert (you can see it in the picture of his meal). I got the chocolate cake for dessert and it was very yummy, but too rich:
While we were eating, we looked over the map for the MNSSHP since we had never been and noted where some of the trick or treat spots were, character greetings, shows, etc.
We really had no idea what we were going to do and just figured we would just take it as it came. We knew we would miss a lot of things, but we just enjoyed marveling at some of the costumes, the kids excitement, etc.
So we finished up our meal, and the park was still open from during the day and the party had not yet started. So we decided to hit a few rides and shops until it was time for the party.
First up was the Pirates of the Caribbean--one of my all-time favorite rides:
A hat picture, and it's not Grumpy in the hat:
Up next, we headed back towards the Haunted Mansion because we wanted to be near Fantasyland for our first character greeting once the party started.
Up next, our first character greeting at MNSSHP.
***Sorry the pictures aren't the best. But I'm one of those people who follows the rules and don't use a flash where it says "no flash photography."
