A Mother's Day Cruise on the Fantasy sandwiched between BCV (Complete 10/12, p.33)

What a great treat for Mother's Day - Remy!! I love the food there and was SOoooo full after our dinner, I wish there was a peoplemover to bring me back to the room! :)

So something that impressed me about Remy was the service (the food goes without saying). We dined at Victoria & Albert's while on our honeymoon and told Israel (who is their Maitre D'Hotel and yes, I had to look up his title!) we'd be dining at Remy in a few days. He mentioned he'd call David and let him know we were coming...I gave it no additional thought. Well, about 5 days later when we checked in at Remy, David greeted us with a big welcome and that Israel mentioned we would be dining there! I thought that was the coolest thing and was so impressed that Israel did contact him and David was like, oh yeah, I've been waiting for you two! :cool1:

David then gave us a tour of the restaurant and then sat us at our table. He also stopped by at the end of the meal making sure everything was to our satisfaction and gave us a box of treats to go. Truly made our evening and meal special! :goodvibes

Ok..all done now...we now return you to your regularly scheduled program! :rotfl2:

That is a very cool story! Disney is amazing. They hire the right people that's for sure! Thank you for sharing :)

I had to smile that your mom twice overlooked the clue to your surprise and when she found it thought it was for somebody else.

I am glad that you had nice tablemates. Those pasta purseittes are delicious. It is hard to believe that there was something that was even better.

Corinna

Great update! I think that is a lovely balance keeping Remy to the penultimate day and then giving Mom a day to look forward to it :-)

Lovely photo of you both in AP :-)

Looking forward to post of Remy! So pleased they could accommodate your diets. It's so wonderful that they matched up your table mates. Corinna and I were wondering on her thread if they keep a file of your preferences in Remy and Palo as they seem to recall so much detail! Be interesting to see your next post!

We're back from vacation  Finally getting caught up on all the TRs.

Love the pics of the BCV! I was wondering about the bus service there, too. It does seem like a long ride if you have to make other stops. But looks like that negative was outweighed with all the other positives. That resort is still on my bucket list. If I can ever pull myself away from the MK resorts, we'll make it over there.

Can't wait to see what you thought of Remy. This TR is getting me so excited for our cruise....of course we have 11 months to wait :upsidedow

Keep the pictures coming!!!!

My grandpa :littleangel: died Monday at hospice. I'm just trying to get my mind off the funeral tomorrow & your updates are helping! Thank you.

He mentioned a wife of many years so I think he was just a chatty guy. :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

It looks like a great 1st day! I love that your mom was so surprised about Remy, so cool :thumbsup2! How did you like having the porthole window?

I'm so sorry to hear that :( sending peaceful thoughts and prayers to you and your family

The porthole was great. The size of the room was awesome. Mom says she's fine with just a porthole and that's better for my wallet.

I had to smile that your mom twice overlooked the clue to your surprise and when she found it thought it was for somebody else.

She said she even saw it earlier when we first went to the room and didn't say something because she thought it was in the wrong place. It was a great surprise :)

Corinna

She casually said, 'I don't need to get those again', talking about the purseittes. :confused3 next time I'll get a double portion for my entree :rotfl:

It really worked out perfectly :)

You know, I really don't think so. Not for us anyway. They always want to serve us alcohol and tell us about their favorite meat dishes. Every time we have to tell them we'd like a nonalcoholic beverage and explain our dining preferences...

Welcome back Heather!!!!! How was your trip? Tell me all about it if you're not doing a TR. If you are I will wait patiently with the masses :)

The bus ride was painful. I'm so used to getting in a bus and going that it was a shock to have to stop at the other resorts. But that was the only negative. Being able to walk to Epcot was just plain awesome. We centered our trip around Epcot. Keep it on your bucket list :)

Ooohhhh, tell me about your cruise! Which one? When?

Keep the pictures coming!!!!

Absolutely!

Going to do a TR...hopefully I can get it going by Monday (hopefully ;))

We definitely have to stay there, but maybe for a split stay, and then focus on EP like you said. Did you walk or take the boat to DHS?

7 days on the Fantasy - May 30th - June 6th...Western Caribbean. We wanted to the Eastern, but it didn't coincide with our dates. No biggie, though....it's a Disney cruise, right?

Excellent! Let me know when you start :)

We took the boat to DHS. I wanted to walk but I'm glad we didn't. It was soooo hot!

Awesome! :cool1: we'll miss you by two cruises, doing the May 16 Western. Exactly right, it's a Disney cruise! I don't care where we're going as long as I'm onboard! :teeth:

Gal, I'm so behind.

AP looks amazing on the ship. Wow, it's so different than one on the Wonder.I love that you got the baked potato, sorry it wasn't as good as the Wonder's.

Your mom and I enjoy our Mickey bars. Was the cookie sundae as good as the strawberry?

Great pic of you and your cute mom! :thumbsup2

No worries! it's not going anywhere :) and I'm taking my time with this one, no need to rush.

Both restaurants are beautiful and unique. Really no way to compare the two.

Oh, I had a strawberry one later in the cruise! But the cookie one was also quite delicious. I've found all the sundaes offered are quite scrumptious popcorn::

Indeed about the Mickey Bars! :)

Great pic of you and your cute mom! :thumbsup2

Thanks :goodvibes

Dinner at AP looks super yummy! Those truffles. That tomato pie or tart or whatever it was. YUM!

So glad you were able to surprise your mom with the Remy dinner. A little bit of a surprise is always good. I can't wait to see what you both ended up having for dinner.

Bummer about the movie channel, or lack there of.

All started! ;) The link is in my signature.

You are kidding!?! So close together! Guess that means you'll have to hurry back and get that TR going so I can read before our cruise

I can't wait someday to try those pursettes! Everyone talks about them, I hope that they have them on the Wonder because we have a lot of Wonder cruises coming up. If not at least on the Dream since we have one of those booked!

I'm glad that your mother was happy about the advance warning for Remy and that you both hopefully enjoyed your time there.

Corinna and I were wondering on her thread if they keep a file of your preferences in Remy and Palo as they seem to recall so much detail! Be interesting to see your next post!

Yes they do keep a dossier on all the guests, but it's very possible that your servers either don't read them or think that they must be mistaken because why would people not drink alcohol on a cruise or eat red meat. Most of these people come from other countries where customs are so different they just might not really "get it" and think that they can be the one to change you.

They definitely look at profiles when choosing tablemates and other things like that. How you got paired up with that group on the cruise with Jenny, I'll never know! :rotfl2:

cool re dossier on guests :-) that would explain my perrier water and earl grey already waiting for me at my Palo table :-) plus plastic cutlery ( I can't pick up metal hurts my wrists ) . Very impressive.

They are definitely on the Wonder. I had them on our Panama Canal cruise. I am getting myself all confused again. I am about 2.5 installments ahead as far a writing my trip report is concerned so I sometimes think that I have posted something that I have not at that point.

Bith those appetizers are so good. The tomato thing was like a little pizza in a croissant type crust. Yummy!!!

Im excited to share about Remy, it exceeded all our expectations.

Bummer about the movie channel, or lack there of.

I was sooooo disappointed :worried:
