A Mother's Day Cruise on the Fantasy sandwiched between BCV (Complete 10/12, p.33)

I'm doing a Segway tour out to the forts on Thursday and then a walking food tour Thursday evening. On Friday, I'm renting a car and my friend and I are going to the rainforest and doing a Bio Bay tour.

Very cool!

A 30-45 minute wait for food on Castaway?! Wow, i've never heard it get that long before. But the food there is delicious and simple, just like you stated.

What?! How do parents not control their kids going up onto a stage during a live show?! I just don't get it.:confused3

Love the picture of you and your mom. You definitely need to get more pictures together!

And they we're die hard waiting in the torrential downpour! :rotfl:

We were so glad we missed that. The whole thing sounds so bizarre. The parents saw them but just didn't do anything :sad2:

Thank you :) maybe next vacation...

Lol re Mom keeping on the new skirt! I had to go back and have a look! Very nice lady :-)

Great updates Pam! The end of a trip is always so sad to me!

We finally did it & booked a cruise last wk for next month! The price was so good we had to do it! We're doing the Oct 25th 7day Fantasy Western! We booked a verandah & were so excited!! Now I need to go back & study all your TRs!

Day 9: Disembarkation day and transferring back to BCV.

We both snoozed until 7:15. Mom slept very poorly. There were apparently terrible waves and the empty hangers were knocking together keeping her awake. I’m not sure why she didn’t take them out if they kept her up. We quickly took showers, gathered the last of our things and said goodbye to our fantastic room.

Down to the Royal Court for breakfast. The atrium was PACKED! We got to breakfast about 10 minutes late and two of our table mates were already there eating some pastries. The negative mom and her daughter had a super early flight so had to get off the ship first thing. It was so nice to spend another meal with just these two, they were lovely lovely people and a pleasure to spend our meals with.

We both had a Krispy Kreme. Mom a chocolate covered, me a glazed, and we both had a cheese and mushroom omelet.

A lovely breakfast was had all around, delicious food and another meal of wonderful company. I handed out our tip envelopes right before we left and then we all waited to leave the ship together. There was still a huge amount of people waiting at 8:45. We went separate ways down at customs. Our friends already had their bags but we had to hunt ours down. Very easily found but the amount of people still there was more than we had ever seen. It didn’t take too long to get through which was good. But it did take ages waiting in the bus to go back to WDW. Apparently we were waiting for two more people. Finally a CM came and said we’d be leaving because we’d been waiting more than 30 minutes. Whew! We had a Dismeet to be getting to! Cynthia and Mary Ellen would be leaving today and I was really hoping things would work out to meet those lovely ladies. I texted back and forth with Cynthia and we would be meeting at Epcot as soon as we could get there.

Goodbye beautiful ship!

I checked my bank account and noticed the onboard charges were quite a bit more than I thought they should be. We had not received a summery of charges in our room and I really should have stopped by the guest services desk for one. Long story short they never applied that $250 gift card to my account. I was on the phone with DCL for most of our bus trip to WDW…

When we arrived at BC who would you believe was outside greeting guests but the very chatty Richard that we had met right before leaving for the cruise. He recognized us and walked in chatting again. Oh my! Very nice guy though. There was a problem with the computers and check-in took AGES. She had to press our Magic Bands to the system probably 5 times, and then we found out later we didn’t have charging privileges on them… BUT, our room was ready. We raced up there, took photos, and headed out to find Mary Ellen and Cynthia.

Then to Epcot for our dismeet!

Walking out of the villa building

Saw this cute critter on the way

As we walked over the bridge to France I saw a wedding below and thought to myself, I need to tell Mary Ellen about this. Well, what would you guess but she was already taking pictures of them! Hugs all around and we started walking and talking. I didn’t know how much time they had but asked if they wanted to sit and chat somewhere, maybe have some food.

We ended up here which was brand new at the time.

I had been reading Mary Ellen’s TRs for about three years and Cynthia’s I think around two. As like all other Dismeets I felt completely comfortable with these two wonderful ladies, and so did mom. Mom can strike up a conversation with a complete stranger so I wasn’t worried about her at all. We talked about trips and jobs and family. This was another highlight of the trip for me.

We ordered some ‘small plates’. These were not small people. But everything was very delicious. We’ll be back.

Calamari

Grape leaves

And hummus platter (sorry, Photobucket is giving me trouble and I can’t rotate this.

Evidence.

And Mary Ellen was beyond sweet and gave me a goody bag! I forgot to take pictures but there were chocolates, tissues, a little notebook, chapstick, a little Minnie, and a light up cup. We ate the chocolates later in the trip and I use the cup all the time. Thank you Mary Ellen, that was so thoughtful!

They had flights to catch and still wanted to do some things around Epcot so we separated ways. Thank you ladies so much for taking the time to get together! I hope our paths are fated to cross again! :)

I had heard of a new icecream parlor in France and suggested we get some dessert. Mom was more than amiable to this suggestion. We passed these beauties. The next day would be the last day of the Flower and Garden festival.

It was here we learned that our MBs didn’t have charging privileges. Thankfully I brought other means of payment. This same thing happened to us last December at VGF. Ugh. Mom had hazelnut and I had white chocolate coconut. Absolutely amazing everyone. Mom dubbed this as the best hazelnut icecream she has ever had in her life.

We made our way back to the resort, we had Stormalong Bay on our minds.

Volleyball court

I just love this resort area, it’s absolutely gorgeous, so peaceful.

We stopped in the gift store for a movie to watch that night, we got Dick Tracy. I also wanted to see if the $250 gift card still had money on it since they didn’t put it on our cruise account. Thankfully it did and we just used that for this part of the trip instead of ever getting our MBs to charge. That was a load off my mind! Then went up, changed into our suits and went to enjoy SAB for a few hours. We had dinner at Les Chefs de France at 8:00.

It's not over yet, still 3 more days at WDW :)

Awesome about your cruise!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thank you! I'm just so excited::yes::. Any advice for a 1st time cruiser?

Where are you oing on your upcoming cruise?

It's impossible to do it all so don't try. Remember to relax and enjoy. Look at your daily navigator thoroughly so you don't miss something you'd like to do. Maybe take a highlighter and highlight the things that look exciting and then pick between them. Try to do a sit down breakfast at least once. You're going to LOVE it!!!!

My next cruise I'll be doing Key West, Nassau, and Castaway Cay :)

What a wonderful way to solve post cruise blues. And how nice that you got to meet Cynthia and Mary Ellen! And eat in at Spice Road Table, I really enjoyed that place! We got the calamari as well. I loved the ice cream shop, but you two ordered probably my least favorite flavors! :rotfl2:

I forgot that you had reserved a one bedroom. Yay for dinner at Chefs de France.

What a shame that your cruise is over and that there were some road bumps along the way that day, but yay for some more time at Walt Disney World. Your room and the view look gorgeous. I am glad that you managed to fit in a DIS Meet and Spice Road Table looks wonderful. I definitely have to try out the ice cream place in France next year. Both flavours sound delicious.

Any way to extend the vacation, and re-entry is awful.

I am so glad the meet up worked out, those are two great ladies!

We'd be back to the icecream shop but not much difference in flavor choices popcorn::

The 1BR felt gargantuan after the cruise stateroom.

That cruise was absolutely glorious, we weren't too sad to be leaving since we had such a good time. And of course it always helps to have another one booked even if it was a year away.

Spice Road Table was a total surprise hit. I had no idea it was even open yet and the food was very delicious.

Oh yes, you must try the icecream shop, it was delectable!

We're just planning to go with the flow on our 1st cruise to find wht we like & don't like. I wish they gave out the navigator before the cruise! I've been looking over the navigators posted on here, but awaiting to see the 7day fantasy Halloween one. I also wonder if my cruise will be different since we will be there on actual Halloween.

Your cruise sounds nice! I've always wanted to go to Key West! Is your mom going with you?
