Ok.....you guys have convinced me....I've decided that I'm going to write the most insane pre and post trip report this site has ever seen! I only have 2 weeks to go till my 14 day adventure begins! To celebrate my 16th birthday my amazing mom is taking me to Walt Disney World for 7 days and then to top it off we will embark on a 7 night Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Disney Magic! I've been a Disney loving freak since...well....FOREVER! Unfortunately my mom and I have had to deal with severe back injuries and this is the first time that I will have ever gone to a Disney park with both me and my mom being completely healthy, so in a way this is way more than a birthday celebration it's more like a trip celebrating life!
I've never gone on a Disney cruise; I've gone on several RCCL cruises around the world and I have fallen in love with the cruise life!! Below is my list of things my mom and I plan on doing each day of our magical vacation! I really want to provide all of you DISers with helpful information for your future trips, so please write me with questions and comments! Along with the trip report I am going to include a dining report with photos. I just bought a new digital camera for our trip so that I could post anything particulary interesting with all of you! I hope you enjoy reading my pre trip report (part 1).
Day One: April 14
-fly from SFO to MCO (we land at 4:22 pm)
-take a limo to the Grand Floridian
- Check in and unpack in our deluxe concierge room in the Royal Palm Club
- Eat dinner at Narcoossee's at 7:50 pm (we made adr with our platinum representative)
- If we have any energy left we'll take the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom just to check out all the shops and get into the Disney spirit!
Day Two: April 15
-We plan on ordering room service breakfast before we head to the Magic Kingdom (I'm assuming we'll both want to sleep in after such a long day, so I don't think we'll get to the park until at least 11am)
- For lunch we have an adr at Crystal Palace at 12:45pm. We're going to celebrate my birthday there even though I don't officially turn 16 until April 22. Oh...and I did I forget to menton I LOVE EEYORE!!!??
- We're going to spend the rest of the day at the MK, but I'm sure we'll go back to the GF for a much needed break around dinner. Tonight is an extra hours night, so we plan on staying till closing.
Day Three: April 16
-We're going to try our best to roll out of bed early and head to MGM
- We're not sure what we want to do for lunch, so if any of you have a few suggestions please speak up
--At 9:40pm we have adr at California Grill during Wishes....for all the times I've been to WDW I've never eaten here. I'm really excited to try it!
Day Four: April 17
-My mom and I are going to wake up early and take a cab to the Animal Kingdom....we would take a bus, but my mom hates waiting for the buses to come.....sometimes I think I'm the parent and she's the kid
-We haven't really decided as to what and where we want to eat lunch at the AK. I was thinking the Rainforest Cafe, but it seems to get terrible reviews. We're on the Disney Platinum plan, so we can eat pretty much anywhere for "free".
-After we eat a late lunch (around 2pm) we're going to head over to Epcot. We've always spent a ton of time at Epcot, so this trip we're only going for half a day.
-For dinner we have adr at Chefs de France at 8:30, which is perfect timing to see Illuminations
Day Five: April 18
-We decided that by this time we'll want a little shopping therapy
We plan on going to Downtown Disney after room service breakfast and staying till around 4pm.
- I really need your help when it comes to where to eat lunch. We've considered Planet Hollywod sense we get a $15 voucher with our platinum plan, but I've heard the food and service isn't always so great
We're also considering Wolf Gang Puck Express...what do you think?? Neither one of us is picky, so we're willing to try anything!
- At 4pm we're going to head back to the GF where my mom will again get her hair done (my mom has super thick and curly hair, so she has to get it straight ironed all the time in Florida's heat)
- At 6pm both my mom and I are going to the GF Spa for manicures and pedicures. Everytime we go to WDW we get manicure and pedicures together...I highly recommend it for having a nice mother/daughter moment
- Later that night at 9:15pm we're having dinner at Victoria and Alberts. This is my absolute favorite restaurant! This will be my third time eating there and I can hardly wait!!
Day Six: April 19
-This is our extra magic morning hours day at the Magic Kingdom, so we've made a huge point of getting up SUPER early to get there before the park opens. I guess I never explained that my mom can not go on any of the roller coasters, so it's just me going on Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, etc. This will be the first time that my mom has gotten up early with me...all the other times I've had a friend with me. To make the morning special my mom and I are only going to run to the rides that we can BOTH go on, instead of her waiting for me to ride all my favorite rides.
-At 9:30am we are taking the Keys to Kingdom tour. I've been waiting forever to take a behind the scenes tour, but now that I'm turning 16 the time has finally come! Have any of you taken this tour?? I'd loved to hear what you thought about it!
-We're going to stay at the MK till dinner time; at that time we're going to go to the Contemporary and eat at the Concourse Steakhouse. We've never eaten here....we don't have high expectations, but we do expect an edible piece of meat
-After dinner my mom has scheduled a fireworks cruise that is included in our Platinum Package for Wishes. I did this once before with my BFF and it was one of those moments you never forget
Day Seven: April 20
-This is our last day at the Disney parks and we decided to spend it at the Magic Kingdom.......I guess you can tell which park is my favorite
-For lunch we have adr at Liberty Tree Tavern at 1pm. I've always enjoyed having lunch here, so I made a point of eating here this vacation
-The MK closes at 7pm this night, so we'll have plenty of time to pack up our things for our next amazing adventure!
I would give a pre trip report for our cruise right now, but I want to see what you guys think of this first
If any of you are going or hoping to go on a Disney vacation and have questions you'd like me to get answers for while I'm on my vacation please give them to me and I will try my best to get you an answer. I look forward to your comments!!!
