A Merry Mickey Christmas INDEX
Yay!!

The dogs had been taken to their kennels for their holidays the day before, the house had been blitzed ready for our return ~ I can't bear to come back to an untidy house ~ and we were all packed ready waiting for noon when the shuttle car was booked to take us to Gatwick Airport. It came on time and before we knew it we were at the Hilton. We usually stay at the Sofitel and had actually booked this but once we found out about the monorail being out of action we cancelled and booked the Hilton, luckily with a very good rate, so we were not out of pocket even after paying a cancellation fee.
We used twilight check-in and then went to Frankie and Benny's for our traditional 'night-before' meal. I am a bit of a control freak with passports, tickets etc and DH was teasing me about how I'd probably forgotten something when I looked up and said "Actually, I have, I've forgotten our cruise tickets." He didn't believe me at first but once he saw I had turned as white as a sheet and couldn't eat he realised I wasn't joking. I knew I'd brought our signed online documents but I'd forgotten the tickets and luggage tags and didn't know how important these were. No one fancied a dessert after this so we asked for the bill and hotfooted it back to our hotel room. DH phoned DCL to see if we needed these things and to our immense relief they said we didn't, all we needed was ID and we could even have got by without the signed document. Phew!!

I felt absolutely drained after this so we watched some TV in bed and had an early night ~ I just hoped I wouldn't have nightmares about missing tickets!

We hadn't originally booked the VRoom and when we tried to add it at a later date it was full up but, as advised by VH, we decided to try our luck this morning. If there weren't any cancellations we'd decided we would go to Wetherspoons for brekkie. Well, we were in luck as they'd had quite a few cancellations so it was lovely to bypass the long security line for the fastpass one and relax in the lovely lounge. We all had a delicious cooked to order breakfast and as it wasn't busy in there the girls were able to spend most of their time on the internet whilst I started my new book, World Without End, that I'd been saving for this holiday. We wandered out to browse the shops for a bit and watched the stage being set up for where some of the X Factor stars were going to be singing but couldn't be bothered to wait for them to arrive.
Our plane was scheduled to leave at 1pm but eventually left at 2:20pm.

I can't remember what I ate, I think it was a beef stew, but I do remember it was nice (I'm think I'm quite unusual because I rather like airline food) and so was the pasta salad ~ I ate DH's pasta salad too and he had my Gu chocolate mousse, just one taste of that and I would have a severe migraine! I watched The Time Traveller's Wife (twice as I missed a vital bit when our meals were being delivered) and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and soon it was 6:30pm and we were touching down.
We had the last row of 3 and the first row of 2 at the back of the plane which are great seats but the downside is that you're last off so it seemed to take ages to get through immigration, especially as Danielle wasn't feeling well. We took a wrong turning on our way to our hotel as we're used to it being daylight when we arrive but soon rectified ourselves and arrived at our hotel, Comfort Suites Maingate East, which is just set back off the 192 next door to Kissimmee Old Town. It's only a small hotel but we so enjoyed our last stay here that we were all keen to return.
Here's a photo of it later on in the holiday in daylight.

After checking in, Danielle just wanted to go to bed and, as none of us were hungry, we unpacked, made that all important cup of tea and had an early night.

Tomorrow ~ Disney's Hollywood Studios
