A Magical Place at a Magical Time of Year

Happy Belated Birthday Susan! It might be a few days before I do anything else. We figured out we were in the hotel room/ slept about 14.5 hours over the entire trip. :lmao: It was awesome! But now I have no voice and getting sick. I have Christmas to get ready for and the tree isn't decorated and I have to clean the house before my parents come and I have to pack for January!

Just about there....

Sorry I've been MIA. Sooooo busy. Yesterday I was on a day trip to El Paso. Left the house at 6:15am and got home at 9:50pm.

Today, I had a chiro appt in the morning (more on that below), then in to work around 10, then it's been "blow and go" all day. I like being busy because it keeps my mind off counting down the hours, but I'm getting pretty excited.

At the chiro, one of the other patients heard us talking about Disney and said she had gone over Thanksgiving. In fact, the week before and came back before Thursday (I think Wednesday). I had to do a double-take and make sure she wasn't Aimee :rotfl: because they are both from Austin and were both there the same week. She was giving us all kinds of advice on where to eat and what to do (as if we've never been there). But I :lovestruc talking Disney with people, so I was in my element.

Tonight, we have some real excitement. As part of our Season Tickets to Broadway in Austin, we are going to see Beauty and the Beast! We would normally go on Sunday, but we won't be in Austin that day! I'm pretty excited about seeing this particular show right before our trip. Haley gets to go with us on Mom's extra ticket. Unfortunately, Katie will be in a final exam on weather and the atmosphere in Boulder.

I cannot believe we only have 2 more sleeps!

I have not even begun packing. But I'm thinking with all of my business travel, I've got this packing thing down. I am taking my laptop for one reason and one reason only - to download pics from my camera and clear my card every day.

OMG Margaritaville in 2 days, Harry Potter in 3, and the Poly in 3.5 days!!!

Maybe I should revisit my to-do list from 2 weeks ago.

So cool! That's what I asked BF for Christmas for. We preordered the tickets and are seeing it at the Boston Opera House in June, we're upstairs but right in the front. Last year I asked him to take me to Mary Poppins and the year before The Lion King. I hope you have an amazing time at the show and an amazing trip!

Unbelievable that your trip is almost here!!

First off, took me a minute to figure out what a Chiro appt. was. I was thinking it was some sort of fancy yoga workout or something:lmao: You are talking about chiropractic right?

That is funny about thinking it could have been me! That would be too wild.

Cool about seeing Beauty and the Beast. I've never been to a Broadway type of show of any sort before but we are going to see Wicked in Jan or Feb I think so that should be fun:thumbsup2

Well....I just can't wait to hear ALL ABOUT your trip when you get back!

I'm excited for you !! :yay:

I'm not an early packer .. usually do it the day before. But then again .. I always end up having nightmares a week or so before my trip where I forget to pack ! Maybe I should pack earlier. :goodvibes

I don't even know what to say other than I totally get the being busy part but what I really want to say is

WOOOOO HOOOOOOO!! Look out Florida!! 2 MORE SLEEPS!!!

and on a side note... I'm really curious as to what my ticker is going to say tomorrow when there are no more numbers to count down... ;)

We are going to be at IOA/USA on Saturday. I secretly hope to finish early and get over to the Poly, then WCC and maybe Ft Wilderness that night, but I'm gonna have to bite my tongue and wait for the crew to get their fill of "the other" parks.

I'm joining in late but I hope you have a fabulous trip! I'll be looking forward to reading about it when you get back! :goodvibes
Thanks so much!

Thanks so much! Same to you - have a Merry Christmas and a great trip!

Our flight has wi-fi so I get to work and play a little.

Our day has been eventful so far. Actually, I feel like we've had a full day, and we're not even to MCO yet.

It started as Chris and I were driving to our chiro(practor) (for Aimee ;) appointment and my mom called and was in a panic because her van driver had called to tell her she's got the flu, and the other van driver had taken the other van into the shop. Mom needed to get to her dialysis. So we shuffled some stuff and got her there.

It was frustrating because she lives in Assisted Living, and transportation is provided and "guaranteed", but they did not have an emergency plan. I won't detail all the conversations back and forth (mainly because I don't want to re-live them on my way to the Happiest Place on Earth).

So then we went to our postponed appointment, grabbed Chick Fil A breakfast (hey, we're on vacation, right?), dropped a bunch of boxes by my mom's apartment (so she can look at them for the next 8 days, PRETENDING to be packing, knowing she won't pack and she'll wait for us to get there the 26th to move her) :confused3 Hey, at least we know what to expect, right? :thumbsup2

Anyway, then back home with only minutes to spare for last-minute packing, make-up, changing our sheets for our house-sitter, and a few other misc tasks, and out the door we went at 11:45. Picked up my sister and Haley and we're off to the airport.

Funny story, and NOW I can tell you one of the surprises for the girls. I have a limo waiting for us at MCO to take us to HRH. :dance3: They have no clue. They think we're taking a cab.

So, in anticipation of this, the planner/mom/Aunt in me wants to get that PERFECT photo of the girls getting out of the limo at HRH, wearing their sunglasses, all Kardashian-style. So I asked Katie this morning if she has her sunglasses. She was like "duh, yes". Then asked Haley when we picked her up and she looked at me like I was nuts and said "Mom has asked me that 3 times this morning!" They have no idea why they need their sunglasses. Then Dude was driving and waited a strategical 10 minutes and then asked Haley "did you bring your sunglasses, Haley?"

:lmao::lmao:

So at the airport, Southwest had Santa taking free photos. Katie didn't want to do it "because all Santas are pedophiles" (she says). She says that the proof was when Santa said "I'm not going to take the picture unless someone sits on my lap." Check out Katie's face.

I'll try to update a little while were there.

Sounds like you guys are off to a great start once you got your mom taken care of. I hope you have a blast. Say hi to Ann and Zoe for me.

Love it!! So glad you gave us an update.
Why didn't you guys just stick Dude on Santa's lap?:lmao:

Have a blast!!
