A Magical Place at a Magical Time of Year

So funny. So many people have said we should have put Dude on Santa's lap so he'd be careful what he asks for, Aimee!

Well, yesterday was another eventful day. After IOA, we popped over to USO and first thing waited in the Rip Ride Rockit line (that was supposed to be 30 mins but was an hour). Even though the anime character on the screens in line kept saying "put your belongings in a locker. If you have a cell phone in your pocket, I promise you will not have it after the ride", I was not happy not to have my iphone for an hour wait, so I decided to keep it with me. So I put it in my front pocket, UNDER the safety bar, and it was not there (as promised) after the ride.

So I called AT&T and determined my best option was to go to a retail store and buy a new one. I left Jo and the girls at the park, riding Jaws and other stuff, and Chris did a thorough walk through/around RRR looking for my phone in the nets or underneath. I cabbed over to a store 2 miles away. Well, when I tried to buy my phone, Amex thought it was fraud and declined the charge. Then the AT&T POS system wouldn't clear and run the charge - it thought it was still declined. So they had to get into their "rainy day" safe (with manager approval) to get the merchant code to run the transactioni "manual" and "old school".

Whew!

With my new phone in hand, I trotted around the corner to CVS and picked up some Excedrin (because when RRR ate my phone, it also gave me a raging headache) and a case of bottled water for our room at the Poly. Then I called a cab that would hold all 5 of us and our luggage, and Josh (our cab driver) and I picked everyone up at the HRH and off we went to the happiest place on earth.

It was a great and fun ride (complete with Elvis Presley cake they had gotten from the HRH carry-out - which has chocolate covered peanut butter and BACON!). So much excitement as we went through the WDW main gate, then the MK gate, then up to the Poly.

The girls were super surprised about the club level (oops, I hadn't told y'all about that, right?) and they are loving it.

Last night, WL and WCC, then MK EMH. We caught Wishes right as we walked in the gate to MK. What a welcome!

This morning, we're taking it easy, all showering up. Chris and I are about to go get breakfast in the CL, then we are planning to go to MK for a 1.6 CROWD LEVEL!! Early dinner at 'Ohana, then MVMPC tonight. (Remind me why we bought park-hoppers?)

Too bad about your phone !! But glad you got another one. I would have been tempted to keep my phone on me too for an hour wait.

Just getting going this morning. I predicted our group would be a slow-to-rise one.

Yesterday was MK all day. We had 'Ohana for dinner at 4:30. The girls loved it.

We watched Cinderella wish for the castle lights to turn on at 6:15 from the concierge lounge, with a beer (Chris) and some alcoholic punch (me) in hand. Then headed over to MVMCP. It was sold out, and there were heavy crowds, but in the "lands" it didn't seem as heavy as during the day (and this was a 1.6 crowd level day!). Lines for attractions were short to walk-on.

After collecting fast passes all day, we were disappointed that they would not allow us to use them that evening. I had no idea.

Got everything we wanted to do done, saw the fireworks and 2nd parade. Got out quickly and we all CRASHED in the room.

Today will be Epcot with Candlelight Processional tonight.

We are back! We got to our house at about 2am this morning, and the dogs got us up early. I have already been to get my car from the shop (from having the bumper replaced where a lady hit it). Unfortunately, the color doesn't match, so they will have to re-paint it ;(

I have lots to do in the next few days. Once I get caught up at home, I'll share some photos. I would love to do a full TR, but I'm not sure right now whether I'll have time to do it justice.

It was a great trip, but not without some heartache.

It was great to see Ashley in Morocco (too bad for me that Alexa was taking a catnap and I didn't get to really "meet" her) and Amy and her family several times at the concierge lounge at the Poly!

How did I miss your mini updates? So glad you made it home safely...I understand there were lots of flight issues yesterday (we had friends from church coming home yesterday from WDW and they said it was a nightmare of cancelled flights).

As for the TR we will take what you give us...any little bit! And of course would love to see your pictures! Ashley sent me the text of you and her...so glad you got to meet!

Yeah that hour would have been horrible without the phone. Ironically I was using it mostly to check the wait time for Rip Ride Rockit! And it was incorrect.

I wasn't too happy about the phone thing, but things happen, right? Wasn't letting it ruin our vacation. We loved Club Level. And the girls had no idea.

Not sure how you missed me, maybe bc you were following me on FB? We didn't have any issues with flying home. There was a delay on the first leg, but it didn't affect the 2nd.

As you can see, I did start a TR. Let's see how far I get.

Oh, yeah... my phone. Yes, that did make it hard to keep in contact with anyone (including my family) And yes, that was the night I was without it.

I will be doing a TR... when I get caught up on threads... which is not going so well. Course, the last few days have been super hectic and busy...so despite being home... I have not had a lot of free time to get caught back up.

Thanks for asking about Zoe. She is really not feeling well. Her fever is going up a bit...but I am confident that the new antibiotic will quickly get her on the road to recovery.
