A Magical Gettaway~ A June 2012 Mother/Daughter Trip! PTR- 7/5 Link to TR!!!!!

OH HELLO, YOU LEAVE IN LIKE 17 DAYS.

I honestly think Old Navy is one of my favorite stores. The clothes there are always fairly inexpensive and most of the time very cute! I need to stop by there sometime soon as well... thanks for reminding me (unintentionally)!!!

That's so exciting that you get so much extra time in Disney! Always a good thing. I'm jealous that you get to check out Art of Animation. I want to stay there so bad!!! I'm thinking if I end up going back again with my friends in December, we'll probably be trying to stay there. :)

Your window decorations are so cute, and the trip journal as well! I have that exact same sheet of Disney stickers with the fab five and the colorful swirls! I used the stickers in one of my Disney photo albums. They're so cute!

How exciting that y'all are getting in so much earlier!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: That is so much fun!

I am loving all of the decorations for the windows & bags! :goodvibes I like the "Do you DIS?" Sign & how your Mickey heads have your usernames on them. I need to make new Mickey heads for us this year. I think I'm going to steal that idea & do the same. :rolleyes1

And the trip journal is too cute! You can really tell that y'all love Disney but that y'all really love going to Disney together. :)

Your trip is getting so close! I'm so excited for you!!

YAY for more time in Disney!! Ahh I'm so excited you're going to check out the Art of Animation resort! My sister and I are planning on staying there in March, so I can't wait to see what you discover!

Yay for shopping too! I went to Old Navy last week and got some clothes for my trip too! They have so much great stuff! :goodvibes

I love everything you've made for your trip! The window decorations are adorable, and I love your trip journal! I need to get a LGMH before my trip for my park bag! I've never done that before!

AHH! So excited for you! It's almost here!!

Ahhhh I know!!! I'm so excited!!!

I'm so happy we're going to have half of a day that Wednesday! It will make things a lot less stressful! Oh, that's awesome you are staying there! I'll make sure to take lots 'o pics! ;)

OMG I LOVE OLD NAVY! IT's really great!

Thank you! I was surprised at how well they came out! I am NOT a very creative person at all! We did a LGMH last time too, but we didn't meet any DISers. :confused3 Maybe it wasn't visible enough!

Thank you! :goodvibes I can't wait!

More like 14! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :lmao: I'm dying right now!

Old Navy is great! I've had a lot of great finds in there, and the prices are very reasonable! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to see Art of Animation! :yay: It looks really cool!

Thank you! I love Disney stickers! I wish they had more choices, though!

YAY! I know, it's great! :cool1:

Thank you! It was a lot of fun making them, and it really got us even more excited!! :goodvibes Go for it! It's tons of fun, and pretty easy! I am NOT creative at all! :lmao:

Thank you! We really do!

Don't you believe for a minute what Emma says about her not being creative! She's VERY creative! She's one of those people who are excellent at EVERYTHING they do - and I'm not just saying that because I'm her Mom! It's true! I was her French teacher and Theatre teacher and Director and she's extremely gifted!(Sorry, Em, I just had to chime in here! Muah!!!)

TWO WEEKS

Thank you, that is all.

But seriously, two weeks from right now we will be IN DISNEY WORLD AND EATING DINNER AT OUR HOTEL. Like I can't explain how awesome this is! :lmao:

As of now, life has been working, working, oh and some more working. :headache: At least it's money, but these are some looooong days! Especially leading up to the trip! Luckily the weather has been pretty crappy and rainy, so the sunshine isn't streaming through the windows taunting me. Oh it will be though!

Honestly, I'm not really sure what else to talk about! :rotfl: I do want to say thank you soooooo much to you all who have followed along on our very short planning journey! It really means a lot that you guys stuck in, and kept reading even though I'm sure many parts were very boring!

Next update will definitely be about packing and the last minute preparations for our trip! I am sooooo excited!!!!! (If you couldn't tell!)

Thanks mom, haha

Hahha, you don't even have to explain how exciting it is. We totally get it! :rotfl:

I can't believe it's in two weeks! I'm having flashbacks to two years ago because we went to Disney on June 20th that year too! (It was my first trip EVER too!!!)

Don't worry, the PTR hasn't been boring, at all! Hooray hooray hooray, so close to the trip!

Two Weeks!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

I can only imagine that you're about to bust at the seams you're so excited! Or at least that's how I get.

This PTR has not been boring at all! I was so happy that you did one. And I can't wait to hear about the wonderful vacation y'all had when you get back! :goodvibes

I had a sneaking suspicion that this was the case. ::yes:: Emma seems very well-rounded & well adjusted. A big "kudos" to you for raising her so well, especially in this day & age. :cheer2: It gives me hope that my 4 year old son can grow up to be "normal" & "well adjusted" even with all of the craziness in the world today. And, I just pray, he'll still want to go with me to Disney when he's Emma's age. I ask him if he will & he says yes now. But, we'll see. Although, he constantly tells me that when he grows up he wants to build rides for Disney World. So, I guess our trips are just me trying to nurture his dream. Yeah, that's it! :lmao:

Awwww, thank you so much! She's an amazing young woman and she teaches ME so much, forget me teaching her! LOL! I'm sure your son will grow to be an amazing young man - I think the time we invest when they're young really pays off and it seems as if you are one of those parents that I LOVE to have for my students; engaged and caring! It makes a huge difference!!! Who knows? Maybe he WILL work for Disney someday! Wouldn't that be so cool?!? You could go anytime!!!! :woohoo:

I can't wait to see your packing update! Fun! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I do try to be involved as possible with his school already & he's only in PreK! :rotfl2: He loves me being so involved with everything they do at school. Hopefully, that won't change too much.

I have to say that I would LOVE for him to be an Imagineer one day. That would be truly amazing. Today, I told him, "Let's talk about what new rides you can do this year." His reply? "Mommy, let me tell you something. We'll talk about that second. First, I need to talk about what rides I'm going to build at Disney when I'm a grown up." But, as long as he's happy & healthy, that's what will make me most happy for him. :goodvibes

Oh my goodness, he sounds so adorable! There's no reason why he can't be an Imagineer! I'm so glad you're involved in his education, even now! It's so sad to see how many parents just don't care, and unfortunately, where I teach, that's the majority. :sad1: Some of our kids have a safer and better experience at school than they do at home. It's a hard thing to watch unfold and we're trying really hard at our school to help the parents help us! Anyway, thank YOU for being involved! :goodvibes

That's so sad. It really does break my heart every time I talk to a teacher who talks about parents not being involved. I just don't get it. But, at least those kids have you to try & help them.

If he continues to say he wants to build rides for Disney, I would do anything in the world to help his dream come true. My husband is an engineer & went to a very good engineering college. I told him the other night that he needs to start researching engineering schools & see which one graduates the most Imagineers. :rotfl:

I know, it's really hard. I always say to DH, "I don't have one child, I have 90." You just get so invested in them and hate to see them go under because of their crappy home lives. That's awesome that he can follow in his father's footsteps! Emma's Dad is an engineer as well - that's a GREAT idea about checking which engineering schools graduate imagineers! Clever Mom!!! ;)

Today was our last day of classes - it was chock full of review, well me TRYING to get the little darlings to focus on review for finals starting tomorrow. Hopefully they absorbed something. LOL! So, 4 days of final exams, one inservice day, graduation day, spa day for E and I, DOE meeting day, then...DISNEY DAY!!!!!

We can do online check-in on Sunday for POP and on Monday for POFQ!!!!!

Y'alls trip will be here before you know it! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I honestly don't know how teachers do the great job that y'all do. I would lose my mind & probably go insane. :rotfl: Hopefully, your students will do well on their finals! :thumbsup2

I love that y'all are doing a spa day before heading to Disney! Perfect way to kick off the vacation! :cloud9:

We can do online check-in for POP in 3 1/2 hours! WOOT WOOT!!!!!! No, I'm not going to wait up to do it, tomorrow morning will be fine! Hahahah! Emma is camping with her Dad this weekend for her little brother's birthday, so you're stuck with just me this weekend!

DH and I are putting a new deck on the front of the house, so we've been busy with that lately (between that and school and getting ready for our trip, I'm exhausted!). Had to run in to Home Depot for stair stringers and treads and so I picked up some more trip stuff!!! Both my and Emma's raincoats are kind of worn out and not very waterproof any more, so I ran over to Dick's Sporting Goods and got her a NorthFace one and me a Marmot one. With everyone saying how wet it's been down there, I figured we'd better be well prepared! I also picked up toiletry stuff to pack and some more bits and bobs for decorating our window at POFQ. DH and I were starving hungry after our outside work in the sun so we indulged in about a million calories at Five Guys Burgers in Burlington. It was, of course, delicious, but I can't make a habit out of that sort of thing! I could feel my waistline thickening and my arteries closing with every bite.

Anyway, just passing time while waiting for these next 10 days to crawl by! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! :flower3:

Sounds like you're having a very nice & productive weekend! :thumbsup2

My DH LOVES Five Guys! He would be so jealous if I told him where you ate. He's hoping they'll put one in the city we live in one day.

:woohoo: Yay! for online check in time! :woohoo:

Yes, I feel like we accomplished a lot today! We actually just got our Five Guys and I'm really surprised we did, because Vermont is pretty slow at getting new stores/restaurants, etc. DH and I first ate at one in Orlando at the Florida Mall in April and we were like, "Um, YUM!!!!!" So, it didn't take too much arm-twisting to convince me to have another of their bacon burgers tonight! LOL! I think it's kind of expensive though - for two bacon burgers, a large fry and two drinks it was $24.00! :scared1: Kind of reminds me of Disney!!! They are delicious though!

My DH 1st ate at one while he was on a business trip in Alabama. Then, they opened one up in Baton Rouge while we still lived right outside of the city. But, for some reason, we never ate there. Now, we're about an hour away from there. So, hopefully, we'll get one here some day.

I feel like everything is so expensive these days. It's starting to make me feel like the Disney food prices aren't too bad.
