A Magical Gettaway~ A June 2012 Mother/Daughter Trip! PTR- 7/5 Link to TR!!!!!

Ok seriously, why have I not read this yet?! I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to get here, but I'm going to catch up now!!

Okay I'm all caught up!

Hmm...must-eats...that's hard because there's so many! My favorite CS spot is definitely Casey's Corner. As far as snacks go, besides the red velvet cupcake, I always have to have at least one Mickey bar, and now Kristen has me hooked on schoolbread in Norway! :goodvibes

That is a great camera! Very nice! :thumbsup2

Awww I love your zoo pictures! That baby chimp is precious!

Congrats on finishing your first year of college! That's a huge accomplishment!

Two extra days! That's AWESOME! :woohoo:

Your ADRs/food plans look great!

YAY! The DxDP is so much fun! We loved it, even though we felt like we were going to explode by the end of the week!

Your trip is getting so close! That's awesome!! :dance3:

Oh boy, just saw that Mitt Romney is supposed to be speaking at the Latino Convention at the CR on the 21st and Pres Obama is speaking there on the 22nd. Not too worried about avoiding the CR, that's easy enough, just worried about traveling around the area - they tend to shut roads down while the POTUS is on the move! Timing will be everything here!!!

Hmmm, another reason to go for rope drops! :thumbsup2

It should be okay I think. I've seen a few motorcades with police and SUV escorts here in my time in DC, and they move FAST so barely enough time to really cause a backup. But then again, it's always backed up here so maybe that's why I didn't notice a difference. :lmao:

:) Hope you're right! Definately going to hit up the parks early! I wonder if the families will be around?

It's VERY hard to concentrate on the real life stuff - DH isn't going this time, though, so I can't be toooo crazy! He gets kind of hrumph-ish. That's why I go on the boards, I know you guys all understand our exuberance!!! With Emma doing Insanity, I've got to whip myself into shape in the next 3 1/2 weeks! Yeah, I'll get to that in a minute....hahahahahah!!!

We definitely understand! I don't know what I did with my excitement before I found the boards. :rotfl:

I have to get back into my exercising also! I've been doing the Couch 2 5K program because I'm doing the Tower or Terror 5K race in Sept (Dh is doing the 10 mile race). But, I haven't run in almost a month because we've been moving. My goal is to get back at it on Wednesday.

That's great! Emma and I want to do one of the 5Ks (although I haven't run in awhile!) And congratulations on your move! Was it a big one? Now that Emma is in college, DH and I are thinking about making a big move down to Florida! pixiedust: It might take awhile, but we're getting things organized. I just got my status of eligibility to teach in Florida, now I just need to get my fingerprints done and it'll be official - WOOT! Unfortunately, there aren't a ton of French teaching jobs there. Luckily, I have theatre too, so hopefully something will shake loose! Good luck with your running program! Let us know how it goes!!! :goodvibes

That exercise program sounds....well.....insane. :rotfl2: Sorry, I had to say it. Beach Body does have some really good programs though. We have some DVDs from them....I think it's the Power 90 program. But, I could be wrong. Anyway.....good luck with working out. I really need to get back to my Couch to 5K program. :sad2:

Oh, it is! :rotfl2: I really like the company! I'd like to get a couple other DVDs they have advertised on our workout! Thanks! Good luck to you too! It's so hard to find time when you're so busy!

How exciting for yall! Mickey Mail just makes it seem much more real, doesn't it? :goodvibes

I looooove Mickey Mail!!!! :goodvibes

Mickey Mail!

Outside of March Madness, I can't think of anything else that significantly decreases work productivity than Mickey Mail! :lmao:

:rotfl2: I agree!!

I know, right?!? Why does it always seem to take so long for vacation to actually arrive? Then, once you're there, it goes by at lightning speed no matter how long your vacation is. :(

YES! I agree! It's not fair! :rotfl: The anticipation and planning is always fun, though!

EXACTLY! We got our ME tags for the POP night today!!!! WOOT!WOOT!WOOT! So now we're all set!!!! :hourglass

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:
YAYYYYYYY!!!!!!

Yay!! Glad you're here!!

OMG I love Casey's Corner too! I swear their hotdogs are better than anywhere else on property!! Ooh, the red velvet is also AMAZING! I've never had school bread, so that may be necessary!!

Thank you!! I love my camera so much!! I CAN'T WAIT to take it to Disney!!!! :hyper: I love taking pictures of EVERYTHING!

Thank you! It was a lot of fun, and I'm sure next year will be a lot better- as everyone is telling me!

Longer vacations = MORE FUN-TIME! I love it!

Thank you! I can't wait! It will be a lot of food, but I'm so excited to try some of the restaurants we haven't been to before!

We definitely understand! I don't know what I did with my excitement before I found the boards. :rotfl:

I honestly don't know either! I'm going crazy at work all day listening to podcasts and Dis radio! I'm just too excited!!!!

Good luck getting back into running! :goodvibes

Hey everyone!!
I hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend! For me, this weekend has been a lot of spring cleaning and weeding through old clothes and books… to make room for more of course! ;) However, yesterday, DBF and I traveled down to Vermont Academy (where I was a post graduate last year) because my old roommate was graduating! It was sooo nice to see her again! She lives in Newfoundland, so it’s a bit difficult to see her. :rotfl2: However she is playing hockey at a local Vermont state school, so I CANNOT wait to be able to visit her more often! We will be only about 1 hour apart at school, so it will be great! Here’s a picture of us.

Oh, and no big deal… :hyper: WE’RE 25 DAYS AWAY FROM OUR TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hyper:

This is insane! It seems so close, yet so far still! But seriously I feel like I have a lot to do, but I also feel like I have plenty of time to worry about it. I do need to take a trip to Dick’s Sporting Goods to pick up a pair of compression shorts to wear under my dresses! It’s going to be HOT, and I live in dresses, but I can’t stand the whole legs rubbing together thing. I have compression shorts from Under Armour (for basketball), but they have seams, and tend to dig into my sides. NOT very flattering off the court! The ones I have my eyes on are Reebok, and are very comfy, and soft. My mom has a pair of these, and I’d really like to get some for Disney! Ahh! I just can’t wait!

I am also thinking about which bag I want to carry in the park. I have a Vera Bradley Hipster that I used last trip.

IMG_0699.jpg

But I really would like to use a backpack because I feel like
1. It’s bigger, and
2. It’s more out of the way!
The only problem is finding the right one. I’ve been scouring eBay, and only finding a few things. I really like Vera Bradley, so that’s what I’m looking for. I have my eyes on one on eBay, so we’ll see how it goes!
Something like this…

Another thing to mention, that I may or may not have already discussed, is that I have been bitten by the pin trading/collecting bug. Yup, I am starting my very own collection of Disney pins! My mom bought me a couple from her last trip, and that just sparked the fire! :goodvibes I can’t wait to start trading in WDW. I also have my first coffee mug from WDW courtesy of my mom from her April trip, and I LOVE it! I think a coffee mug will be a regular souvenir purchase from now on! :rotfl: I can’t wait these next 25 days!!!!!! I’ll be too excited to sleep a week in advance!! HAHA but seriously! I can’t wait.

I need to continue my spring cleaning, but thought I’d pop on the DIS for an update!!

I LOVE Vera Bradley! SO much. I just use an ugly old ADIDAS bag for my park bag, VB sounds so much cuter! I hope you find a good deal. :)

YAY PINS! OMG, I always buy a Disney mug! Every trip! It's tradition! Hahaha yay, those are fun souvenirs to get!

25 days!!!! :woohoo:

Wow, I can't believe you're only 25 days away! That's so exciting!

On our last trip I finally gave in and bought one of the WDW cinch back packs...that thing has been a godsend! I love it so much, because it's lightweight, but it holds a ton of stuff! Plus, they make pretty good souvenirs! :thumbsup2

YAY!! I'm so glad you're into pin trading! I've been pin trading since 2007, and I LOVE it! :goodvibes I think I have somewhere around 300 pins...I'm seriously addicted! It's so much fun in the parks!

25 days!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

That's a great picture of you & your friend. Y'all look like y'all could be sisters.

I hope you find the bag you want for the parks. It really can be hard to find that perfect bag that fits all you need but isn't so large it needs its' own zip code.

I am seriously considering buying a start up lanyard & some pins for Reid on our upcoming trip. I think it would be a lot of fun to get into but I do worry about starting up another Disney obsession. :rotfl:

I also love Disney mugs! Although, I haven't bought one in a while. Hmmm....I think I know what one of my souvenirs will be this year.

:goodvibes

Thank you! We just moved a few miles down the road. We had been in the process of building a house. My DH & I have been married almost 13 years & this was our 8th move. It was the closest move we've ever done but, for some reason, it's been one of our hardest. But, things are slowly coming together.

That is awesome about getting your eligibility to teach in Florida! :woohoo: I hope something great rolls your way so that you can get down there! pixiedust:

Oh, it is! :rotfl2: I really like the company! I'd like to get a couple other DVDs they have advertised on our workout! Thanks! Good luck to you too! It's so hard to find time when you're so busy!

I have the Fat Burning Bootcamp DVD by Beachbody that I have been too scared to try! :lmao: It is very hard finding the time to exercise these days. But, I know I have to get back into it soon or I will definitely be in trouble for that 5K race.

25 days!!!! :woohoo:

ME TOO! It's so pretty! Although my mom isn't too fond of the new Vera patterns! :confused3 Haha, but I usually resort to a drawstring Nike bag too! :rotfl:

I really think that will be my new souvenir of choice! :goodvibes Mugs and pins! Great tradition to start!!

IKNOWIAMSOEXCITED!!!!!!! I could just dance!!! :dance3:

Me neither!! It's gone by so fast, but I have a feeling that these last 3 weeks are going to draaaaaag on forever!! Always happens!

I think I have one of those bags somewhere...:rotfl:

I love pins!! Omg 300! That's awesome! I've been searching the online Disney store for the ones to keep an eye out for in the parks! There's so many! :rotfl: I can't wait to start trading!

I can't wait!!! :dance3:

Thank you! I love her! :goodvibes She's great!

It really is a task finding the perfect bag! Not too bulky, not a bottomless pit, big enough to fit the essentials...:lmao: I'm tellin' ya! You're right, it's not easy!

Awww that would be too cute!!! Reid is adorable! It would be great to get him into pins early!! :lmao: He'll have such a great collection!

I'm glad things are going well with your move! It's very stressful, and with my mom and step dad on their way to moving out of state (TO FLORIDA), it's going to be a TON of work!! It's hard to find time to breathe, let alone train! :rotfl: Best of luck with your program!

That sounds like an intense DVD! :lmao: My butt hurts just thinking about it!!!

I'm struggling with the bag problem too. I still have 50 days to go, so I have plenty of time to figure it out. I am a big Vera fan too. I am thinking I will go with a lightweight drawstring backpack from Thirty-One, but I'm afraid I will still have to carry something else to put the frequently used stuff (tickets, photopass, camera, phone, etc) because its a P.I.A to keep getting stuff in and out of a backpack. I did buy a Vera lanyard and ID holder, but that won't fit my camera & phone. Maybe just a hipster would be better after all. Or.....I can make my cousin carry the backpack and I can just have a small crossbody (Vera Lizzy) or something. Hmmm...decisions, decisions, decisions

When Emma got her Vera hipster, I got one too. I like it, but my only issue with it is when it rains, stuff gets wet! Even with the drawstring backpacks there's not a lot of protection either! Poor Emma, when we went to Universal her phone was in her Nike drawstring backpack - those water rides are SUPER soaking and her phone got wet!! Luckily we had the insurance for it. :goodvibes I usually use my Burberry backpack in the parks and I've never had a problem with anything getting wet inside (and I put my parkpass in my ID holder around my neck). BUT the Veras are super cute!!!! It is a dilemma!!! So, I usually pack several bags because I can't decide - I love them all! Then of course, there's the whole "If I don't carry a bag, I don't have to go through the bag check!" thing, too. hahahahah!

Good tip about getting wet. I plan to use ponchos when it rains and the only water ride for us will be Splash, so I think it will be alright on there.

I would love to not have to go through bag check, but I don't think thats an option for the July heat. I will need water bottles, ponchos, misting fans, etc. Maybe when we hop back for EMH in the evenings we can go bagless :confused3

I know, I always look with envy at those people who walk right through without a bag to get checked, but there's always something I need to carry in!

I ended up buying that Vera backpack, and I love it so much more in person!! I do agree with the whole hastle of getting things out of a backpack, but it's way more convenient to carry! There are so many decisions!! Good luck with finding the perfect fit! :goodvibes

I'm not too worried about it getting wet, but I am concerned about fitting everything in the bag! :lmao: Bag check is a pain in the butt, but having a bag is very nice for carrying things! Especially with pockets, going bagless would be great for EMH!

Just convinced Emma to take an earlier flight (like waaaaaay earlier) on Wednesday the 20th! We're now arriving at 10:30 in the morning rather than at 7:30 at night - didn't take too much convincing!!! LOL! It gives us more time at POP before we go over to POFQ the next day! WOOOT, WOOOT!!!!! 2 1/2 weeks! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

This is great news!! Ok, so I never knew someone could change their plans as much as we can... Well now....we have

1 more day!!!!!

:lmao:

I know right, it's a bit ridiculous. We were looking at earlier flights for a couple reasons, and we decided that we really wanted to check out POP more as well as the new Art of Animation!!! We really want to try out Art of Animation's food court for lunch because it looks delicious!

So now, instead of flying out at 4:30pm, we will leave our airport at 7:30 AM!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

We'll arrive at MCO at 10:30am, so hopefully we'll get to our resort by 12:00pm. I'm really excited about this because we will be able to take it easy this day, getting our feet under us, before jumping into our manic schedule for the rest of the time. Pool time, picture time, maybe DTD time... who knows! Possibilities are endless! :goodvibes

Besides dramatically changing our plans with 17 days left, this weekend has also been full of shopping! Yesterday, mom and I took a trip to Old Navy because they have such cute dresses for very cheap! I bought several lightweight and cute dresses. I'm very excited to wear them! We also stopped by AC Moore to get some things to decorate our window as well as our trip journal!

Here's what we have created so far...

These are tags that we will attach to our park bags!

DIsneyPTR8.jpg

I can't wait to put all of these up in our window! I hope we get a corner, so we can have two to decorate! :goodvibes We're also bringing a strand of Christmas lights and several stuffed Minnie and Mickeys for our window sill.

Here's our trip journal!

DIsneyPTR9.jpg

AANNNNDDDD our luggage tags that we got with our Mickey Mail!

DIsneyPTR10.jpg

So basically it was a productive weekend! I'm sooooo looking forward to spending more time in WDW!!! :dance3:

Your trip is getting so close! I'm so excited for you!!

YAY for more time in Disney!! Ahh I'm so excited you're going to check out the Art of Animation resort! My sister and I are planning on staying there in March, so I can't wait to see what you discover!

Yay for shopping too! I went to Old Navy last week and got some clothes for my trip too! They have so much great stuff! :goodvibes

I love everything you've made for your trip! The window decorations are adorable, and I love your trip journal! I need to get a LGMH before my trip for my park bag! I've never done that before!

AHH! So excited for you! It's almost here!!
