A lot under rehab

I just got back from DL last night. We had a good trip but it seemed like a lot of the park was closed. I know it is the off season but a lot of stuff wasn't working. The haunted mansion and small world (probably due to Christmas decorations), all of critter country (including Splash mountain), half of fantasy land, super star limo, and mullholand madness (in CA) were all closed. Half the time the matterhorn and space mountain were closed and California Screamin got stuck. We saw the people being let out of the roller coaster on the track and walking down the stairs. The park seemed really busy everything had a long line. There was like a 1-2 hour line for taking pictures for annual passes. Other than that we had a great time and the weather was really nice.

Superstar Limo is gone forever, I hear. With all those rides breaking down, sounds like it is time for some maintenance!! I just hope they are at least part way done by the time I get there next month. :)

We're going in March, and I'm disappointed to see how much is scheduled to be down in early March, but it's not quite as bad as it looks like it is now.

Yikes about the 1-2 hour wait for annual pass pictures. We're purchasing AP's, and my 2 & 5 year old boys will absolutely not be able to wait with us for that long. Does anyone have any tips for taking care of this? Does the line get shorter during a certain part of the day? I assume that we do have to get our pass pictures taken on our first day of visiting, correct? I guess in the worst case, does anyone know if they allow "switching off" or "baby swap" for getting the annual pass? I'm joking here, I think, but I suppose it could come down to that. Really not looking forward to taking 2 hours on our first day just getting the passes... :(

<font color=navy>My dd's friend got her first AP on Saturday, and at 10am, the wait in line was probably 15 minutes. It was not long at all. However, as the day wore on, the line got longer & longer.

Good luck. :)

Hi all,

Just wanted to clear up that SuperStar Limo is not closed forever. Nor are any major changes coming to the attraction.

I can understand your visit being a let down due to the all the attractions closed. I think this is a first time in a long time where you have 3 e-ticket attractions closed (Splash, Mansion, and Small World) closed at the same time. I would be bummed too coming from a distance and missing out on those attractions.

Was this your first trip to Disney's California Adventure?

See ya!

We were there Jan.10-13. The Thursday, we had NO WAITS!! OK - maybe 10 minutes for Matterhorn & Autopia, but we walked right on to Space Mtn, Indy, Star Tours. Jungle Cruise was the requisite 5 minute line - it was great! We were disappointed that Splash & Haunted were closed. And getting around Fantasyland was a real challenge! Since we don't have little kids, we weren't back there much. I would have been very disappointd if I were taking little kids and all of that Fantasyland were closed. It's tough - you want to take kids off-season, yet they close so many at once for rehab! They must be doing a major re-do of that area of Fantasyland.

That is interesting, Mouseinfo. I had heard Superstar Limo was gone. Is it just under rehab now?

Teri- according to another website, Superstar Limo is being used to test out the ride vehicles that will be used in the new Pooh ride in DL. The two rides have a similar system, and SuperStar has been seeing some minor problems after being in operation for over a year. They want to avoid any problems for their new "E" Ticket attraction (Pooh). At least that's what an insider says!!!

It is a shame that so much is currently closed. But from what I understand, some much needed maintenance is being performed. I take it the Matterhorn is open now?

The Matterhorn was working, as of Saturday, 1/19. My rascals had a lot of fun riding it.

I too was disappointed to see how many rides will be in "rehab" in early March. This will be my first trip to Disneyland & I was looking foward to it. I'm now thinking about shortening that part of my stay. Maybe that is why they are offering the "extra day" on the park hoppers. To make up for the lack of rides. Either way, I guess I'll only spend 2 days between both parks. Still can't wait to get there! Disneyland in March & WDW in August (with DCL 4 nite Cruise). What a year! Kathy :)

What ride are they taking out for the Pooh ride? I hope that it's not Mr. Toad's, they should have it at least in one park.

Pooh ride is supposedly going in at the old Bear Country Jamboree. Wouldn't hold your breath, though...
