A long shot but worth asking

We have just paid a deposit on resale points at BCV and so are waiting for it to go through ROFR. This is our first venture into the world of DVC.

We are going in August this year and so are obviously in the 11 month booking window for home resort. Our concern is that by the time it all goes through we will be further through the booking period and might not get what we want at our home resort.

Is it possible to book a stay at the resort as a normal, paying a deposit etc, but when the sale is confirmed and membership passes to us convert that booking into a DVC sale?

Like I said, I know this is a long shot and am quite prepared for you to all laugh and say 'no way'!

I don't think you can, because the inventory is separate. Just because there is a room bookable for cash doesn't mean there is one for points and vice versa. Disney has been known to make a cash room available on points for someone that is just buying in direct... but I doubt they have the ability to do tht for resale.

Ah well. I suspected that would be the case. Just have to keep our fingers crossed.
