A live trip report - DCL Magic Western 8-12 Updated through End of Cruise

Hi -
To those who read my trip report, thank you. To those who asked questions, I'm finally here to answer them.

Kjnwags: The GC dayroom was a great thing. Cost was $114 plus tax (I think the total was around 140) and it was available when we arrived at 8:15 a.m. and we had it until we left mid-afternoon. We booked it directly through the hotel and if you are interested, I can dig up the contact info I used via email to start the booking process. The rep then called me from the hotel to finalize details.

Racrj - My DD7 and the clubs. Really I think she was in an in between age for the clubs. The Oceaneer Club was a little "too babyish" for her according to her. She is just a month shy of her 8th birthday. The Lab - she didn't want to do because she didn't want to be the youngest kid there. She didn't hate it, but she wasn't one of those kids begging to go there. Everytime she went for one activity, she would say check on me after that and see if I want to stay for the next thing....she never did. I think next time we go and she is in the Lab, she'll be more into it.

Lindaso - Re the dayroom at the Westin. The beach there is perfect. Really one of the nicest beaches I've ever been to which is why we booked the dayroom in the first place (we had been there previously for a week). Water is crystal clear, completely calm. The sand is like powdered sugar. Perfect, really.

Eyeronic - Re your questions.
1. Flounders- yes we booked ahead of time but we changed almost everything after getting on the ship. They were completely flexible and would have taken her anytime she wanted to go. I don't know if this is the norm or if we just hit it on a week when there weren't a lot of toddlers and babies.

2. Stroller - we actually bought a new stroller just for the cruise and it was a great decision. It's a combi that folds up twice so it is very small and it slid right into the closet on the ship -- and it was easy to use on the ship. We never took it into port (except for Key West) because we were doing beach things. At CC, they have strollers for borrowing and they were great and very sand-friendly.

3. We had a booster at our table, waiting in her chair, every day. First day she chose booster over high chair and they always had it for her.

That's it for now. Post-cruise trip report to come this weekend or next week with my tips and observations. I'll post it on the regular board.

Ciao for now.

Thanks for taking the time to write your report! I love the way the tone of your report changes from beginning to end!
Thanks again!
:thumbsup2

That's because the tone of my head changed from severe wooziness to complete joy. It is fun to read now that I have gone back to it to relive the changeover which was literally overnight.

Great trip report, thanks for sharing!
It really got me excited about our upcoming Cruise! Can't wait to read all your tips & advice!
I know what you mean about being overwhelmed. Thats how I was through the whole 1st Cruise (4 day wonder).
On our next Cruise I'm hoping to relax and enjoy everything a little bit more. And not to rush to do everything!

We are going on the Magic 0ct7-14 and we just got our room assignment and I was wondering if anyone stayed in this room recently and could tell me a little about it. Thanks
