A little trip to A&E

Mandy was very sick last night, but after she finished saying hello to the big white telephone she seemed ok and went to sleep.

However about three this morning she woke me up as her tongue and the side of her face had swollen up (you may remember this happening 5 months ago too).

So got dressed and made our way to A&E, they took blood pressure and pulse, tried taking blood and on the third attempt were successful. They think it was an allergic reaction (but it seems strange that this has only happened twice, both times after being sick) so gave her piriton and some steroid.

After two hours the swelling had subsided enough for them to send her home.

We got home at 5.50, so I made my self a coffee and read my book before getting ready for work.

Mandy is sleeping now as it has taken a lot out of her. I am so glad we are going on holiday this weekend

I hope Mandy is feeling better today. I agree With mrs dazzle... don't go do anything to get yourselfs back at A&E Just amke sure you get on that plane

Mind you, Dr Mark is doing a good job of wrapping me in cotton wool! I recommend him to all patients.....

I've been out all day and somehow missed this thread when I logged on earlier this evening.

Definitely wrap yourself in bubble wrap, girl! You can't let anything happen to stop you getting on that plane on Sunday, d'you hear?

Do you know what brought on the sickness? Did they say anything at A&E about being allergic to your own vomit?!

Pleased to hear you're feeling better now and hope neither of you are worried.

Deb...thats disgusting!!!!

Last time this happened they reckoned I was allergic to ibuprofen and I mustnt take it anymore..........except I hadnt had any since so dont know what it is


I'll have to see GP when I get back but til then I have my epipen on stand by

All wrapped in bubble wrap now ready for trip...
