A Little Scared About the Money

I booked a concierge cruise that was supposed to sail in 2020 which obviously didn't happen. I paid for most of it with Disney Gift Cards, and like an idiot (since I had been warned by people here) not to get rid of them in case I decided to cancel for some reason.) decided that I was different and I didn't need to keep them because there was no way I would EVER cancel a Disney cruise, and that if it ended up being canceled by them it would be at the port where it would be too late to get my money back anyway. Like I said, really, really stupid on my part.

My question is if for some reason my booking THIS year (moved from last year) gets canceled A.) Will I be able to move my cruise to next year again? Or will I somehow be able to get my money back? We've spent almost 9k and that's a heck of a lot of money for us to just lose.

If your cruise is cancelled, you will almost certainly be able to rebook for a later date.

If you want a refund for a cancelled cruise and don’t have the original form of payment, it is possible that you could work with Disney Cruise to get a new gift card or even a check, but I do not have personal experience with that.

Shoving it all back on gift cards would be fine with me - just going to turn around and spend it on a Disney Vacation anyway.

I just don't want it to go up in smoke.

But they will put it back to your original gift cards unless you are able to work out an alternative arrangement

We had this happen with all of the changes this year. When we were overpaid for a cruise, the overage went to a new e-gift card without issue. Just make sure you or your travel agent request it right away.

Just make sure to tell them that you no longer have the original form of payment and they will send you new gift cards with $1000 max per card.

Perfect - thanks guys! Like I said I am GREAT with gift cards - I mean if the worst thing that comes out of this is I go to Disneyland for the first time or get back to Disney World for the first time in six years, that's still amazing.

Yes, you can move the funds from a cancelled cruise to another cruise. I've done this multiple times.

Even if you throw away all your gift cards, always keep a spreadsheet with the numbers and the security codes noted in. You can access everything about them on the Disney gift card website, and for any online booking, you just need the numbers.
