DH has been working for Lowe's since September. He really likes the job, be he ended up taking a BIG pay cut to work there, about $10,000. He came to the decision that it was time to find something else, because financially we are struggling. I sent his resume to a yacht building company that was looking for a Buyer on December 27. They called to set up an interview on January 2. He was out of town that week, but he had his interview on January 12. They called him last night about 7:30 pm (yes, 7:30 pm on a Sunday night!), and set up another interview with him for today. So he is meeting with the HR people at 2:00 today. He is really crossing his fingers to get this (he plans that if he does get it, he will work Lowe's as a part time gig). If anyone has a little PD to spare, we would appreciate it!

Is the Yacht place up in Sturgeon Bay? I hope he gets the job. I don't think a week goes by, that you don't see something closing in the Fox Valley.

Nope, Manitowoc, which is where he is working right now anyway. Only about a 35 minute drive from home.

He's there right now! Good thoughts, good thoughts, GOOD THOUGHTS!!! :wizard: :goodvibes

:wizard: Wishing him luck. Sounds promising if he has had multiple interviews in a short period of time. Keep us posted.

Okay, so he called me about 2:30 this afternoon. Said the meeting was fine. Said it didn't really feel like an interview, because the HR lady did most of the talking. They did talk salary (and if he was offered what was being discussed, it would be a $10,000 increase per year!!). She did say that they would be making an offer this week. Don't know if that is good or bad. He was told that he was the only person they interviewed that had done the job before (it was posted as minimum requirement of HS diploma, 2 years in customer service). I just don't know what to think!

Sounds like he has a great shot at it. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

It does sound promising. More pixie dust coming your way. :wizard:

Waiting is the worst!!! It sounds promising, though, so that makes it a little easier. I hope he gets it!!! Keep us posted. :wizard: :wizard:

If they gave him the salary he has a very good shot. When we are interviewing we don't talk salary until the 2nd interview and then to only the people we want. If they don't baulk at the salary then we hope they won't turn down the job when offered.

Good Luck!

DH and I talked about it last night (Duh, because that is the only thing on his mind right now!). He told me that they had also given him a DVD about the history of the company and their products. I figure they must be serious if they gave him that, because if they didn't hire him, what would he do with it, use it for a coaster???

He said the only thing that he doesn't have that they are looking for is APEX (?) certification, but that is something he can do if hired. He was told all about their medical and dental plans, 401K, short term disability, and vacation time. I hope he hears today, the suspense is killing us!!!

It sure sounds like they're already sold on him! I don't want to jinx it by congratulating you prematurely, but I'd start planning on a nice celebration dinner somewhere good! :flower:

Im a firm beleiver is positive visualization - visualize him getting the call for the job, visualize him working for this new company.... Positive thoughts, only!!!

Good luck to you! I recently got a HUGE increase in money per year, with a new company...the excitement was enough to make me giddy, constantly!! :hyper:
