A little nervous about your mini-meet?

I think I might be a little nervous about hosting the Beavertail meet. Last night I had a dream that the world's most famous beaver passed away. That's right.................Jerry Mathers. I really did!

Snowwark: don't worry! We will be there munching our way beside you! Are there any stories about beavertails in Canada? Any particular occasion when they are supposed to be eaten? I confess I have eaten one just once: it was kinda gooey affair. So I trust you advice on toppings... You are a beavertail authority!

Snowwark, there's really nothing to be nervous about. Everyone will be very cooperative and very happy to be there. They'll just be glad to see the DIS hostess so they know they're in the right spot. I've hosted a few local DIS meets and everything sort of falls into place as the people arrive. And, as Livia said, we'll all be there with you. Strength in numbers!

NurseKim, I've never had a Dole Whip. I'm going to have to make sure I attend your meet. We don't have to do the hula or anything do we?

BelleMom, stories about beavertails? Well, I'll have to look into that.

Barb, I've also hosted a couple of local meets, and you're right, everyone I've met has been very friendly. Just a born worrier I guess.

I am looking very forward to this meet and the Dole Whip meet.....these are going to be the easiest to attend (and should be the easiest to 'host' ) because all you have to do is be surrounded by other DIS'ers and enjoy a tastey dessert!

Dessert? I thought Beavertails were just part of a nutritious breakfast. That and Froot Loops.....

I've never had a Dole Whip before, so I'm really looking forward to that.

but I've never had a Dole Whip, either! Every time we pass the stand, the lines are so long, we just pass it by. Now, I have had Beavertails before and those are very yummy!

I had my first, and my only Dole Whip while in Disneyland this past May....all because everyone on The DIS had such wonderful reviews of the Dole Whip.....and it was, indeed, very delicious!

I've never had a Beavertail before though! Don't know what I'm in for.

Come to think of it, I've never had a Turkey (aka Emu) Leg before either...

Well first Tia, they have to trap the beaver using as humane a method as possible, then they take them to the factory..............

I never had emu legs either. Never dared to try them. It seemed nearly impossible to eat them in a ladylike, dignified way.

My beavertail experience was very little ladylike too. Me and DD ended up all covered in chocolate syrup.
