Are you getting the Deluxe Dining Plan? I have three boys ages 12, 10 and 7 and there is no way we could do 3 table service meals a day. The park hours that time of year aren't usually as long as the summer so you'll be giving up park touring time to eat. I'd have a counter service lunch if I was having a TS breakfast and dinner.

We are going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter this August and we hope to eat at the 3 Broomsticks, too!

Have a great trip, whatever you decide to do!

You have an awful lot of TS there which is going to take a lot of time away from the parks. If you are not as interested in spending time with attractions then it is ok, but I would discuss with your family, especially your DD's about what they are expecting to do and get out of the trip. Perhaps cut it down to 1 or 2 TS here and there might work out better for you and your family.

If you were to do the DxDP then you would have 33 TS credits and I only counted I think 22 TS credits, so you would either need to add 50% more places to eat or cut down on the ADR ideas. Plus, you left out the second Thursday that you would be staying.

Also, Boatwright's at POR does not do breakfast anymore.

You have a good start, you just need to make some modifications here and there. Try to decide if you want to use one of the dining plan options. If you do, figure out which is best for your family. If you don't figure out your food budget. Then start to plan the ADR's. Don't abandon what you have completely, just try to get a better feel for the trip.

I think your plans look fabulous.:thumbsup2 For your last night dinner, I'd suggest Ohana. Food is very good and the dessert is IMO the best at Disney!:thumbsup2

Quick question, where is Safari house? You have it listed for breakfast one morning when you're at AK. Do you mean Tusker House?

For your 1st night, maybe something other than DTD unless you're planning to be down there. I've heard Planet Hollywood isn't very good, although I've never eaten there. Grand Floridian Cafe is really nice and not terribly expensive. We love eating there. :goodvibes

I have 3 girls too, ages 10, 8 and 6. We recently went to Disney in Oct. and did the deluxe dining plan. It was wonderful and gave us time to relax and talk about our day so far. It wasn't too much food and we didn't feel like we were missing out on park time. When we vacation, we enjoy sitting down at a restaurant. Have fun planning!

I think your plans sound good. You have alot of my favorites in there! Are you planning on the deluxe dining plan? We find that it saves us a ton of money. My daughter is only 4, and she does good with the 3 sit down meals a day. It's a good break for the crowds, lines, and heat. I am a planner too. We just finished planning our trip for may, and now I'm working on October!

I'll be there in october in POFQ and I will make my suggestion after. We are going from 6th to 12th, and it's your first time for us.

You picked some good places to eat but imo waaaay too many for one trip :goodvibes I think 3 sit down meals a day will really be way too much. We usually only do one Table Service meal per day and never more than 2. You would be spending so much time each day sitting in restaraunts. If you are doing a sit down breakfast then I would not have another sit down meal until dinner (do QS for lunch).

:thumbsup2 That's pretty much what I was going to say. But some of us eat less than others... Just be aware that the days with the 3 TS meals -- there will be a ton of food and not so much time to play...;)

When we went to Disney 20 years ago on our honeymoon we booked lunch and dinner everyday in a TS restaurant. We learned that it was way to much food and usually by dinner we didn't even feel like eating.

I know there are a lot of different places you want to try but I think here the adage that less is more holds true.

I'd at least get rid of the lunchtime reservations and go for either a counter service place or just grab a snack or two from the vendors in the parks.

Enjoy.

First of all CONGRATULATIONS on your planning! You've done a great job grouping the meals and activities together! :thumbsup2

THat's Great!

I do understand what PP's are saying and agree to an extent about LOTS of TS meals...

When we've done the DD plan (regular)...we always end up with MORE than enough food...and that's not even Deluxe....

However...I am changing things up this next visit...(Just DS & Me) and NOT doing the Dining plan...paying OOP....and therefore...planning to try more TS restaurants...EVEN if I just end up ordering a salad or appetizer... (DS18 can EAT anytime)

So there are certainly reasons to have a LOT of TS plans...as I plan to next visit... (So I can experience more for disboards! HAHAHA):lmao:

We did Planet Hollywood ONCE...only because we had the "Free meal" and "Free Souvenier" coupon in our WDW Packet... THe kids enjoyed it...due to the atmosphere....I compare it to Hard Rock Cafe...but for Movies - NOT Music... Food was not memorable...but I don't regret going for the kids/atmosphere....

CRT DINNER!!!!:cloud9: A Family Tradition. LOVE that you are going.

'OHana Breakfast!!! Been FOUR times... GIrls will Enjoy ! (and you too!)

When you go to US/IoA...if your "Broomsticks" plan doesn't materialize...I HIGHLY Recommend Mythos in IoA...right before Harry Potter... I've been 4 times now...and the whole family enjoys the food and atmosphere..

Have a MAGICAL visit !:yay:

Sabby,
I love your plan :) I don't see a problem with booking 3 TS a day. That way if you want them you have them, but if you decide that day you could just call and cancel the ADR (or even skip it) as long as it isn't one with a CC guarantee.
When we went in Dec '08 on the delxe dining, we only cancelled one (a breakfast because we wanted to sleep in) and wished we'd made a couple of more because the park CS at lunchtime were a huge turn off.

The only changes I'd maybe suggest are:
A TS for dinner on your arrival day. If you are set on going to DTD, maybe try Wolfgang Puck Cafe? I haven't been, but it looks yummy :) If you are not set on DTD, maybe one of the fun resort restaurants like Ohana (dinner is noncharacter, different than breakfast) or Whispering Canyon.

The 2nd Hollywood Studio day... I'd do breakfast at Cape May at the Beach Club. You can bus from the resort to DHS and then walk or ferry to the Beach Club. It's a really yummy character breakfast and the resort is pretty to see.

I'd definitely also try to get in the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. It was a fun show!

Good Luck!
