Hey everyone. =)
Some of you might have read my dining review about my first trip EVER to WDW in May of 2008. Well, I'm going back for my third time and we leave this Friday. Yes, you read that correctly. This Friday!! Time flies when you're worrying about a Disney Trip...

Anyway, I'm planning on doing another dining report this trip, not to mention my very first trip report, and to get myself in the spirit I thought I'd start writing this pre-trip report. Not only that, but as a writer, I haven't been inspired lately, and I figured any venue is better than no venue to get things out.

THE BASICS:

Check In: 6 March
Check Out: 14 March
Hotel: Pop Century, Buy 4/Get 3 Deal
On the Dining Plan

First off, let me introduce myself...

:hippie: My name is Katy, and I'm a high school senior in the sometimes-great state of Texas. Being the only one going on this trip who's ever been to Disney before, and being the DisBoards fanatic that I am, I designed our entire itinerary and made all of our dining reservations. I'm most excited about this trip because I've designated myself as "the photographer", so I'm going to be focused on capturing the magic for my mom and sister so they can have a blast!

Unfortunately, there's a reason why I'm very nervous about this trip too...
This will be my first time ever going to Disney without Curtis, my now ex-boyfriend who you might remember from my dining review. He broke my heart about a month ago and I still haven't gotten anywhere near over it. =( I'm really worried that everything at Disney will just be a big reminder of him and our relationship for me...even thinking about it gets me teary eyed! But, I'm trying really hard to think positively about the trip...another reason for writing this report!

:rotfl: Next up is Ma, my mother, and as the smilie might suggest, she loves to laugh! She's 49 and never been to Disney ever in her life! She's very excited to go on this road trip and go the the most magical place on Earth. When I asked her what she wanted to do most, she just sort of shrugged. She's not really the kind to look in to what we're going to do before we get there, she's just gonna go with the flow and follow my lead.

:cool2: Lastly is my thirteen year old sister Maggie, aka Mags, who is "too cool for school", haha. She too has never been to Disney. In fact, as a family, we have never been on vacation, and since I'm graduating this year, this will probably be the only one we go on, so I'm determined to make her have a good time! She definitely has her moments...a short fuse that seems to light up every other second! But deep down she's a sweet kid, and even though she's "too cool" for Disney, I hope I can capture some pictures of her enjoying the magic!

I don't have pictures of my mom or sister because they're both camera shy. I'll for sure have tons of photos to add of them in the Trip Report, though! The all-girls-trip is going to be stressful...but it's going to be an adventure. I just hope all that estrogen in a PT Cruiser headed to Disney from Texas doesn't make the car spontaneously combust or something!

Next post will have my ADRs and my thoughts on each one!

sorry to hear about your ex- i will be going to Disney this summer too without an ex bf, but luckily for me it's with a much much much better one!! You will create so many new memories and be so busy doing new things and showing everyone the ropes you won't even remember. Where are you staying at???

Alright, so.
As promised, here are my ADRs! But, as with everything when it comes to me, there is a little story to tell when it comes to these.

In case some of you don't know, the EMHs listed for March 7-14 are wrong. I'm not exactly sure why, but they are. I made all of my dining reservations based on these EMHs...well, when I double checked the Disney website yesterday, it came to my attention that a couple of the reservations I made were not for the parks having EMHs on that night...talk about frustrating! Especially considering our first reservation was a week away...talk about no time to change reservations! Well, despite that fact that I just knew there wouldn't be anything available, I called Disney Dining today to see what I could work out. I explained the situation to them and, as usual, they were totally helpful. I ended up being able to make a reservation for the two parks that I wanted to switch to with ease, although I opted to do lunch instead of dinner for one park in order to get a restaurant that I preferred.

So, here's the plan..
7 March : Check In
8 March: The Plaza (dinner), MK with EMH
9 March: 1900 Park Faire Breakfast, GF; 50's Prime Time Diner (late lunch), HS with EMH
10 March: Teppan Edo (lunch), Epcot
11 March: Tony's (dinner), MK
12 March: Crystal Palace (dinner), MK
13 March: Rose & Crown Pub (dinner), Epcot with EMH

As for counter service, here are some places I know I want to try:
Wolfgang Puck Express
Sunshine Seasons
Tangierine Café
El Pirata Y el Perico Restaurante

I'm most excited for 1900 Park Faire and Teppan Edo, the former I've done before, the latter I haven't. I've never been to most of the places we're going this trip to eat so I'm very excited! Tony's and 1900 Park Faire are the only veterans.

Any thoughts on our dining choices, y'all?
Lemme know!

I can't believe I forgot to mention it! Haha.
We're staying at the Pop Century. This is also my first time at that hotel.
We'll be there from the 6th through the 14th, and we did the Buy 4/Get 3 package.

Congratulations on your new boy!

Alright so, after typing up my itinerary, and getting our dining flipped around so that we can take advantage of those lovely extra magic hours, I'm now a little bit nervous about being SICK in Disney...

Just two days ago I came down with this really terrible chest cough. Gross! And my mom has been having sinus problems too. Not to mention my notoriously finicky stomach...I just hope that once we get out of the house (which we think is "sick" due to water damage and stuff that lead to mold) and get on the open road that we'll all start feeling better, and that Disney will really be the cure!

But, just in case, I'm packing every OTC medication known to man.
Pepto, Gas-X, Zicam, Motrin, Excedrin, DayQuil, Emetrol...
Anything to keep the evil sickness-spirits away! I start the toiletry packing tonight when I get home from work. Wish me luck!

Oh, and here's a picture to get everyone in the spirit. I'm Alice, and this was taken in September at the MNSSHP.

Sounds like you are going to have a great time, in spite of the drama with your ex. That is tough, but your trip sounds fantastic and I hope you ladies really enjoy yourselves!!
