Hi, I'm Marie and this TR is about our trip to WDW (my DH, Greg and I) Jan.29-Feb 7. A little background on us... I grew up going to WDW twice every year. My folks would get the FL resident Seasonal pass and we would drive up (about 3-4 hour drive) and stay 4-5 nights at a Disney resort. Greg has been to Disneyland CA once, when he was 7. We tried to do WDW for our honeymoon, but it was June, so after a few hours in the MK we left to do waterparks.

So, around Halloween 2009, I decided we would go on a Disney vacation sometime in 2010. :smickey:
My aunt (actually, she's my cousin's wife's mother), is a Disney vacation planner, so I emailed her for a quote. She booked our trip and saved us a ton of money (and stress too). I will never plan a WDW trip without her.

Here's a picture of Greg and I on our HONEYMOON in 2008:

This year, we went to Port Orleans Riverside :cloud9: and spent 7 magical days at the Disney theme parks. We had a very romantic  Disney trip for the first 6 days, and then my family came up and we stayed at a very nice condo with them. We didn't go to Disney on Sundays (for religious reasons) and took the rainiest day to hang with my family instead of going to the parks. It was a 10 day FL trip.

I want to start planning our next trip to WDW already!!! Hopefully, this TR will help me with my Disney (and FL) withdrawls.

What an adorable couple.

I'm joining in and looking forward to reading about your adventure.

P.S. I understand how frustrating it is when you write a TR and nobody has anything to say, don't worry you'll get followers soon. ;)

Hey there! Thanks for chiming in.

I'm very excited about this trip report, since I read tons of TRs before our trip. I'm also hoping to make some Disney-loving friends to share stories etc. I will be adding a new post soon about our preparations for this trip. Most exciting - I lost 20 lbs for the trip so I wouldn't get too exhausted trying to keep up with my skinny DH.

New post soon - stay tuned!

Hey all, just wanted to drop in and say that I'll be posting my Disney tips (from what I learned this time) and Day 1 of our 10 day adventure tomorrow. I wrote it up on some scrap paper but need to type it in at home (I'm at work now) so that I can add photos.

I couldn't do it last night, because DH took me out to celebrate some good news at work. My best friend got engaged last night, so tonight we're celebrating that over sushi (after I put in a 10 hour day :guilty:). I hope there are some folks out there reading along! See ya!

We were there at the same time!

don't worry about posts...after a bit you'll have more, plus there's always alot more lurkers than posters. You're off to a great start!

Congrats on loosing 20 lbs.

I had lost 30 lbs for my last DLR trip and it felt so great. I was really hoping to loose some for this trip as well. But NOPE... I had a baby in december and haven't gotten rid of all of the weight I put on from that, plus what extra I had to begin with. BUT........ Not being pregnant anymore makes me feel a million times better and my hips and back feel brand new without carrying a baby in me anymore. :rotfl:

Congrats to your friend and her engagement. Exciting!

It’s just nice to know someone (even if it’s only one person) is reading this, otherwise I feel like I’m talking to myself…
What an adorable couple.

Thank you! I hope you guys like pictures – cause we took a ton while we were in WDW. And I am very proud to show them off.
It’s so cute, your daughter says “Snow Wipe”.
Congrats on loosing 20 lbs.

Thanks! It made a big difference. I feel so tiny and fit now, even though I am a size 10 or 12 and very short - meaning I'm not "skinny". I love it! A couple months ago, I noticed that I felt exhausted just walking around, doing normal stuff. Now it’s much better. I’m not sure how Disney would have gone with that extra 20 pounds. It was exhausting enough already.

Joining in. You and your husband make an adorable couple. Congrats on losing weight. I've lost about 25 myself since last April.

Thanks momof2blondes and redlight, for joining in!

The night before we left, I came home from work and went through all the stuff I was gonna pack (which was spread out on the bed in neat piles). Some of the extra things I was bringing, since it is a Disney trip:

*(from the Target $1 bins) a set of 3 Disney pens that hang around the neck and a small notepad with Donald Duck on it. I was going to write some notes every night to use for my TR later... but never wrote in that notebook :confused3

*(from the Everything's $1 store) 4 ponchos and a small travel umbrella

*about 20 Cliff bars and Luna bars (for breakfasts and snacks)

*(from the Disneystore.com's once upon a year sale) for my DH: 2 hoodie sweaters, one with Mickey and one with Grumpy, and a Goofy "Art of Skiing" t-shirt
for me: a Tinkerbell hoodie sweater, an Eyore tee, and a black terrycloth Tinkerbell tracksuit.

*(things I printed on the color printer at my office) maps from the airport to Port Orleans, Port Orleans to Publix, PO to my friends' houses (I used to live in Orlando and go to church near Lake Buena Vista), PO to Universal CityWalk... Touring Plans for each day plus extra if we change our park plans

*Unoffical Guide

*GorillaPod for our camera

*Crocs - I found these Pittsberg Steelers crocs for $3.99 a pair a few months ago and heard on the DIS that they save your feet at WDW.

So... I'm packing and DH calls me to see if I can do a load of laundry for him and he requests that I bring my grey drawstring pants. My heart sank, because these are skinny pants and have been banished away with my summer and ill-fitting clothing. He told me to still try them on, just in case they fit, because he loves them on me (he bought them for me once when were shopping for him).

...Just a little background here, I have been gaining weight slowly for the past 2-3 years, about 50 lbs total. That's quite a bit for a 5'5" girl that has been a size 4-8 most her life... I'm not quite ready to get hardcore into diet and excercise quite yet so I started walking and doing the Wii fit. Lost 5 lbs in Dec. Then on New Years Eve, I bought Alli pills. And lost 15 lbs in Jan.

Back to those pants...
I find them and hold them up - and to me at the time, they look almost child's size! So before I even try them, I go and put on my Spanx. They fit. Shoot, those pants are low on the hip and look baggy even! I was pretty glad Greg suggested them. I tried on some other old pants and pack them all in my suitcase. :cloud9:

Greg got home from work about 8pm and we went to buy him some jeans for the trip. Why he didn't think about needing some, I dunno... weeks ago when he saw me packing, is beyond me. He is very bad at procrastinating and literally has no concept of time. Needless to say, after he told me it would only take him 10 minutes to pack... he was up til 2am packing his suitcase. After our errand, we ate a late dinner and Greg's cousin came over. He just turned 21, so I figure he is responsible enough to housesit and petsit for us. I tell him my house rules: Don't spill anything on our computers or our nice couch, Have friends over (instead of leaving the dog for long periods of time) just as long as you don't disturb the neighbors, Eat whatever you want, Use whatever you want - even our snowboards, and No sex on our bed or couch (we really love that couch). He looked so embarassed and surprised. I think he was expecting no drinking, parties, etc. But let's be realistic, he's 21. I know our place will be the beer sanctuary for his friends while we're gone. A little background, Greg and I don't drink alcohol or even coffee and only held hands and kissed before our wedding night and Jeremy is well, your average 21 year old. Here's our pets that Jeremy watched for us:

Love that your skinny pants fit!! :)

Your pets are too cute!~

Can't wait for more!

Great news on the Skinny pants (I love how women catagorize their clothing), it always feels so good to put something on that you don't expect to fit and it does!

Like the collar your dog is wearing.;)

And maybe its a guy thing: they just don't seem to stress about packing or getting ready in advance. I have a suitcase in our room that I keep putting stuff into and every time we are out I try to grab a few things here and there, but if I left it to my DH we would be running around like crazy the last week. It just doesn't seem as important to him. I don't mind though, I like getting everything ready. I'll still be the one up until 2am going through everything, for the third time.

It's a great feeling to fit into your skinny pants! (Hey, we're the same height!)

Your dog is adorable. What's his name?

I'm in! woo hoo on the skinny pants fitting, keep losing that weight girl! i have to lose at least 10 pounds before my trip to mexico with my man, so i can fit back in those bathing suits, ugh!
loving the trip report so far.
i hear ya on procrastinatin men!
keep it coming.popcorn::

Can't wait for this trip to begin! Speaking of skinny pants - where do you draw the line on where a girl should wear "skinny pants"? My son's gf who lives with us wears these tight forming leggings with usually a t-shirt (which doesn't go down over her bu**) and for some reason it bugs the heck out of me lol I have a 16-yr old son who thinks it's obscene to wear cuz it doesn't leave anything to the imagination (if you know what I mean). She's a tiny girl and I'm not jealous of her weight, just think they belong in the bedroom or dance class. Anyway I know your pants aren't like these so I'm sorry I digress :rotfl2: Just had to get off my chest :confused3

I am trying to lose 30 lbs before our trip in late November and I congratulate you on your weight loss :thumbsup2 It's harder when you get to be my age but that's no excuse for me. Your pets are so adorable! And I think it's great you have someone in the family to take care of them. Am anxiously waiting for more about your trip!

That's just like us.

Thanks, and thanks for joining in!

Your dog is adorable. What's his name?

His name's Beauford and he's a basset hound, about 10 months old. He's like a 45 lb teddybear :ewok: and he just keeps on growing!

Hmm, sounds like a little too much (not very modest), but that those tights/pants would be cute with a tank dress, like something more towards fingertip length. Leave something to the imagination... I think it's more feminine.
