I just saw this. It’s interesting that they are circumventing the CDC by originating in the Caribbean and only visiting Caribbean ports. Of course Americans are going to still have to have the negative Covid test to get back in the country. Not something I’m willing to risk just yet with kids in tow.

We are super excited by this! Lots of different cruise lines starting to sail the Caribbean and Bahamas. If we can’t sail on the fantasy, we will totally be sailing with someone else this fall. We will be vaccinated, so we have no worries about safely cruising.

If the CDC won’t allow cruises to originate out of American ports, people will just fly to the Caribbean or Bahamas, to circumvent their rules. It is truly sad for all the American workers whose jobs are impacted by these port closures.

All of the emails that I have received announcing these new sailings include airfare in the price of the cruise fare. You know they are aimed at Americans who want to get back to cruising.

We would do this if we didn't already have plans this year. I've loved the southern cruises that start in San Juan - flying a little further than Florida from Oregon is NBD to us.

We did a Southern Caribbean on Celebrity in 2018 out of San Juan. Loved it!!! Loved San Juan.

Interesting way of getting cruising back on track...but yes atleast its a start.
