I am hoping that this will be my first full dining review. I started one in either 2010 or 2011 but never finished. But I so enjoy reading the reviews all the time that I am going to try again.

Trip details: This is our first trip back to Disney since our December 2011 Disney Wedding and Honeymoon. Here's us:

We are driving down from Louisville, Kentucky for a few days before our trip up the coast to Virginia Beach for my cousin's wedding. Should be fun!

Who we are: My name is Amanda, and I will be doing all the reviewing/pictures etc. Don will be more concerned with the eating aspect of the report. I pretty much eat anything, although I will be trying to eat healthier on this trip - haha, it's Disney so we'll see how that goes! Don's eating style...think pizza, tacos, sandwiches...he is a man's man in terms of eating. He doesn't like anything too fancy. To put it into Disney-speak, when we went to Citricos on our honeymoon in December, he was not a happy camper. (I loved Citricos...but I guess if I ever make it back there it will be a solo trip!) To give him credit, he has been doing a lot better at trying new things!

Meals:

April 21 - aka driving day :(
- Paradiso 37 OOP - we always eat here our first night - blame it on the corn dog nuggets that Don must have

April 22
- Akershus - we have done breakfast here a few times - I am a sucker for the smoked salmon on the cold buffet
- San Angel Inn - This is hands down my favorite ambiance in a Disney restaurant - I have always enjoyed the food as well
- Somehow I must fit in one of those new waffle sandwiches from Sleepy Hollow into this span of time (so much for healthy eating)
- Tony's Town Square - we had a great Anniversary celebration dinner here in 2010 - they gave us Lady and the Tramp salt and pepper shakers with dessert!

April 23
- Kona Cafe - a must: we always eat here - although it is tough to book it over the amazing breakfast buffet at The Wave (but Kona wins on a small trip like this one)
- Liberty Tree - of all the options at MK this is our must-do (can't wait for the new Beauty and the Beast restaurant!) - good, solid comfort classics
- California Grill - booked this over Narcoosee's which is our usual (despite the complaints I sometimes see on here, we have never had problems there) - can't wait for the sushi and the view!

April 24
- Tusker House - Don said we had to go back because they have Krispy Kreme donuts on the buffet - go figure!
- Yak and Yeti - so happy to be going back here!
- Yachtsman - we haven't been in a while - Don wasn't a big fan of our last meal, but we are trying it again

April 25
- Kouzzina - we have done breakfast here a bunch now and have always loved it - haven't had any bad food or server experiences like those I have read about
-Teppan Edo - we had the most amazing experience here for my birthday last year - let's just say it involved Mickey Mouse - I will divulge once I get to this post
- Fulton's - can't wait to try Fulton's for dinner now that it is on the dining plan!

April 26 - leaving :(
- We are going to try and grab Earl of Sandwich breakfast sammies (and maybe a caprese for later) on the way out for the long drive up the coast

I hope you tag along for the review - I am going to try and upload as fast as I can (not live, but I will try) on the new free resort wi-fi! Or at least I will post some teasers - like the bazillion snack credits we will need to use over the few short days!

Less than 3 weeks to go and we already have one change! (after the countless changes I made before I posted the first time...)

As I mentioned I am really going to try and eat healthier on this trip. So I have had to put Kona Cafe to the side (I swear my husband almost cried because he loves the Big Kahuna breakfast). But I needed to not eat at a place that serves french toast stuffed with bananas and drenched in cinnamon and sugar. :lovestruc My willpower is not good enough to turn down Tonga Toast... :worship:

I replaced it with The Wave so we can do the breakfast buffet. Buffets are both an easier and harder way to eat healthy. If you stick to your diet you can choose the healthier items off the buffet...but you can't deny yourself! Just eat a few other treats in moderation (in this case, the amazing cheesy bacon-y grits from The Wave!)

Yum-o! I have made myself hungry just thinking about the goodies to come in a few weeks.

I had breakfast at the Wave last trip, and their buffet is awesome. I possibly like it even better then Kona for breakfast.

I like it better too! If The Wave served Tonga Toast - I might eat breakfast there every day on vacation!

Joining in! I love your choices so far!

Thanks, and welcome. We try to mix it up with in-park and out of park restaurants - old favorites and new discoveries. And when I say we, I mean me haha...my husband just goes along so long as it's not too fancy.

Hi Amanda! Your trip is almost here, how exciting! My hubby would kill me if I cancelled his beloved Tonga Toast but the Wave is so good. We went there in Oct and loved the buffet. I have tons of pictures in my Oct thread and you can show your hubby to make him happy again!

Signing in! You are probably eating at Tony's now. Looking forward to your reviews when you return from your trip.

Signing on, can't wait!

On the Wave/Kona issue. This past Feb we did both and we were really disappointed in the buffet at The Wave. We must have caught it on a bad day because everything that was supposed to be hot was cold and the pancakes, biscuits and pastries were rock hard. Now Kona, on the other hand, has my new favorite dish at WDW...The Samoan breakfast was unbelievable.:worship:

A lot of your choices are on our list, so I can't wait to hear about them! Hope you're currently having a wonderful time. Here's some pixie dust to make sure your meals are all amazing!!!:tinker:
