A la carte at Ohana?

My DH and DS love Ohana. However, I don't eat the grilled meats and have a shell fish allergy, so the all you can eat price is not worth it for me. I do enjoy the bread pudding though. :hyper: We have a rez for our trip in April. Does anyone know if they offer anything a la carte? If not, I guess they will probably just go without me. :guilty:

it is all one price for everyone 10 and older. You can get the bread pudding in the tambu lounge though.

Maybe they offer a vegetarian entree that you could request?

It is all one price. You can note your shellfish allergy or just even claim vegetarian and they will have some things for you. I often ask for the mac and cheese that is usually for kids only and have never been denied it. The noddles, pot stickers, and salad are also good.

I would call the dining services number. When you make your ADR, click on "special requests" and it lets you list allergies. Put in what you wish to avoid. After you click "done" it'll have an allergy disclaimer. In here is the number to call to speak to them about foods you need to avoid. Call them, and see what they will be able to do, what your options are.

From past experience with DD who has a list of things she has to avoid, Disney was awesome working around it, and she has ALWAYS had more than she could eat at the AYCE restaurants. The only negative is that sometimes you have to wait a little longer for your food.

Seeing what they did for a veggie mom of a carnivorous family a few years ago, I would just say I was a vegetarian and go with your family.

I'm a vegetarian and have eaten there many times. It is certainly not a great value for me, but my husband and kids love it there so we often eat there on our trips. The chef is very accommodating. Just let them know when you make your reservation.
Oh, my son has a severe nut allergy and they always are very pleasant dealing with all of my family's requests. I hope it works out for you.

I know people say it is not a great value for vegetarian but NONE of Disney's restaurants are a "great value." The steak and chicken cuts are not expensive and the shrimp is not that expensive either. If I want to eat $40 worth of food at Disney I will pay $80 for it at a signature.... there is no way I can eat $40 worth of chicken thigh and noodles and veggies etc. You are paying for atmosphere and being in disney so I say go and enjoy with your family and consider it all good if you end the meal full and satsified rather than trying to save $20.

I agree, I can't think of many WDW restaurants/foods that are a great value. I don't eat much meat (I just prefer other things), but I still love 'Ohana. The noodles and potstickers (which I know contain meat) are so good. I figure if I get full and have a good time, than I'm getting my "money's worth," especially considering every WDW restaurant is overpriced.

True, WDW restaurants are generally not a great value but for my DH and DS17, Ohana comes pretty close. They can put away a lot of shrimp and meat!! :) It's not that I'm vegetarian, but a bite or two of meat is all I ever want. I'm more of a grazer and almost feel pressured to eat more than I want at "all you can eat" restaurants or buffets to get my money's worth. I should probably change my mindset and just go and enjoy watching them enjoy their meal.;)

That's what I kind of mean. What would you save by feeding yourself elsewhere? $20? Is it worth it to spend time away from your family to save $20? I'd just go and eat until I was satisfied and enjoy myself.

I make a meal of the pot stickers and bread pudding there. No need to waste the calories on anything else. Their pot stickers have to be one of my favorite foods ever.
