A "How-To" Walk Through of Drinking Around the World at Epcot World Showcase

I'm pretty sure I caught a buzz just reading that post! :upsidedow

I probably would have really excelled at that years ago but now that I'm middle aged, I'd have to stay in bed the rest of my vacation after attempting that kind of debauchery! :faint:

My DH will be doing this in July/Aug. Let you know how it goes, but he can really put them away:drinking1

im going to try this out in Dec. do they have any specialty holiday mixed drinks?

In Germany, they have a hot spiced wine called gluhwein (glow wine) that is traditionally served in the christmas markets. My sil lives in munich and when I brought a bottle home from disney, it is the exact same brand and everything they sell there. It is one of my favorites especially if it is a cooler evening :)

Such an informative post. Looking even more forward to my Nov. trip. While I would be past out well before I hit Italy - my dh will relish the info!!

This article is amazing!! Now I know how much to budget and what to get when I attempt this in December! Thank you!!!

We will be attempting this in Nov. I will probably only make it to 1/8th of the way around the World. I hope I do not start to belly dance or make a spectacle of myself in front of Off Kilter. But I might.....:thumbsup2

Can you still qualify for an award if you make the entire circuit in more than one day??? You know, spread it out, say over two or three days. That much alcohol in one day would be hard on me old bones (and liver).

Tip from a veteran: To minimize the effects of alcohol, combine your drink around the world day with an "Eat Around the World" day. Grab some food at every pavilion, even if it's not F&W.

OMG I am totally gonna do a full report with pictures! Won't it be funny to see how the pictures evolve as we attempt to consume alcoholic beverages around the world??!! LOL! Can't wait till December!:rotfl:

That training section is no joke, my FIL, a 70 year old accomplished beer drinker was felled by the combo of heat, walking and the final blow, a couple of those 2 liter size german beers at biergarten. We ended up carrying him out from Germany to the Beach club.:rotfl:

WOW--great post :) I would never be able to make it all the way around the world--I would be on the floor on country 3 :). I WILL make an attempt on a few :dance3::yay:

Thanks for the info :)

I wish I could drink my way around the world....
And I was wondering IF someone could tell me what alcoholic beverages on Epcot's SWC and another locations are 'safely' and 'harmless' not too strong as I reaaaaaally can get tipsy after 2 regular pilsen beer cans or 2 glasses of wine ;) and I am supposed to do all the driving next September. ..Dear fiancee does not drink but I still cannot convince him to try to drive the automatic car we'll rent...:rotfl:

So hysterical! Love the "Can I handle this?" section!!!

Also, there are 29 of us (12 adults) heading down in Dec. I'm a little embarrassed to admit we were going to be the "tacky" group with the matching shirts and countries/drinks on the back! :rotfl:

Might be rethinking our "great" plan! LOL :rotfl2:

Exactly what I had planned!!!:rotfl2:

Great post!

I can't wait to Drink Around the World with my girlfriends in October!

Food & Wine here we come! :goodvibes

We have unofficially done the Drink Around the World Showcase many times (in fact, won't go to The World without doing it - always a highlight of our trip!)

Anyway, for our upcoming trip in December I found really cute CHEAP passports you can get online (they are actually free, with just shipping and handling) at DrinkAroundtheWorldShowcase.com. I just ordered them, along with the deluxe kit (only $4.99, and included a wallet-sized bathroom guide!:rotfl:) - will let you know what I think!

I have no idea what this wine is. :rolleyes1
