A Holly Jolly Surprise Christmas at Disney! Disney College Program Pics!!! 10/22

I like surprise option number 2!

Candlelight Processional is beautiful, we lined up 45 minutes early and were still in the second set of seats. We did not do preferred seating for Illuminations, just found a spot. And sat there about an hour waiting.

Christmas is awesome! Yes they closed the gates on Christmas Day, so be there early, know that it is crowded as all heck and just play it casual so you have a great day.

Looking forward to reading more.

Day 4 December 26,
MK and Epcot Morning EMH 8-9

We are not sure which park we will be at this morning. Just depends on which one everyone wants to go to. Towards the evening we will be at MK since they have EMH that night from 11-2 am. We have dinner reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern and will hang out at the parks afterwards.

Day 5
Morning EMH HS and MK 8-9, Night AK 7-10
We have not decided if we are going to go into the parks this day:scratchin. I know that with staying up till 2am and then waking up early will be pretty tough. Plus, DM is not a big AK fan since her incident on the Safari ride. I know that there will be a lot of holiday decor at the resorts that we want to see:3dglasses. We also want to see the decorations at Fort Wilderness, that we have seen on the travel channel. Dm and I really want to play miniature golf there, since we have never been. The sad thing is, I practically lived at Disney for 6 months and never made it over to either one of the two courses. I think this would be fun to play, since we like playing mini golf at Myrtle Beach. On this day we also have dinner reservations at Boma. The food looks wonderful and we are excited to go.

Day 6 and our last day in the parks
DSister’s BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!:bday:party:
EMH MK 8-9am, Epcot 9:30-12:30am
This is her day. We are doing whatever park she wants to do. Her favorite ride is Big Thunder Mountain, so we will probably be at MK. However she also loves going to Japan in Epcot. She love’s Chef Mickey’s and so we will be having dinner there. Since her Bday is so close to Christmas we try to make it extra special. We turn our Christmas tree into a birthday tree. We take the ribbon and the tree topper off, and put birthday ribbon all over. Since we will have a little tree in the room, we plan on doing the same thing. DM is also planning on ordering her a special cake. As of right now we are thinking of a Mad Hatter cake, since she loves Alice and Wonderland.

Here is a pic of the cake. We are thinking of getting it alittle smaller and probably in her favorite colors.

:welcome: Have you stayed at AKV before? I am sure it is amazing. That is the one resort DBF is determined to stay at. What are you guys doing on Christmas day? Yes, that is alot of weather! Makes me want to jump in the car :drive:and go to Disney, either that or cast a spell :stir: to make it stop:rotfl:.

:welcome: I am so excited about Candlelight Processional, that is our main gift to everyone and I hope they enjoy it:thumbsup2. We will probably do the same thing for Illuminations. I am just worried since we are planning on park hoping on Christmas Day. I was told we shouldn't have a problem since we are planning on going to HS after spending the morning at MK. We will definitely be there when the park opens. That's one of the good things about staying at the Contemporary, we can just walk right over:woohoo:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I finished my trip planning notebook and wanted to show you guys. On our College Program Reunion in May, I brought along a folder that had all our reservation, park hours, etc in it. It was nice not having to run all over the room trying to find it. I didn't take it into the parks, but it was nice to be organized. So, with the big group we are having go with us, during the busiest time of the year, and all our reservations b/w two different hotels, meals, and shows.......I realized that having one again this trip would definitely be helpful. This time instead of a folder, I am using a flexible binder. That way it can be easily packed and it is big enough for dividers. Here are some pics, some of the designs I found on the creative board (I can't remember the name), but I thought they were great.

Here is the cover:

For dividers I used the mickey heads from home depot.

Its not the greatest binder, but it gets the job done and I think its kind of cute. :wizard:

Love the binder, what a creative way to keep it all together.

Thanks, I didn't want to use regular dividers and I have a lot of mickey heads, so I figured why not:thumbsup2

:welcome:yes it is very exciting! And I feel like the time is going by pretty fast. I hope you and your fam had a great trip and can't wait to here about it.

Thank you, I know it'll come in handy with so many different reservations. Also helps us plan ahead. We know we'll be a little stressed being there at such a busy time :scared:, but hopefully with this planning ahead it'll be less stress and more fun!

Hey! I just found your PTR and thought I would chime in. I LOVE the Mickey dividers in your planning notebook. That is soooooo clever!
We will be there during part of your trip. We are eating at LeCellier on Christmas Eve and going to the 5pm Candlelight Processional. Maybe we'll see you there!
We have been during the Christmas season before, but never on Christmas Day so I'm not sure how it will be. I did spend New Years' Eve Epcot a few years ago and it was crazy packed, but it is a very large park so it didn't seem so bad. We even got to do all of the big rides twice that day so it was still manageable.

I LOVE your planning notebook! Jealous that you're going at Christmas--we haven't been that brave yet! I hope you're going to write a TR and tell us all about it. I'm new to the PTR thing, too, and you're doing a much better job than I am! I need to make one of those planning notebooks so I can get it together.
We decided to try Mama Melrose's for the first time on our next trip, too. We're going to try to book the Fantasmic package there.

I know the most popular parks for Christmas are MK and Epcot. We'll be out of MK by 11 and we decided to hop over to HS for dinner and Osborne lights. Hopefully that makes it alittle easier for the whole fam.

Very cute planing notebook! Love it.

:thanks:

Yes, I do plan on writing a trip report. The planning notebook is pretty good bc I have everything in one location. I hope you like Mama Melrose, from the looks of the menu, it looks pretty good. popcorn::

Sorry Ive been a way the last week. I am a Disney Campus Representative on campus and we are starting our recruiting season. I have put up so many posters, table tents, and signs; that I am a little burnt out:) But it is all worth if for the discounts:thumbsup2 Speaking of discounts:

Here is an update for our trip:

A new discount came out during our dates, where we could add the dining plan and get a better discount on our room:thumbsup2. So after showing my mom, we decided to make some changes.

We are now staying at the Polynesian Resort, we saved about $200 for switching and that is going towards our dining plan. DM is alittle bummed that we can't walk right over to MK, but she is excited that we get to keep all of our dining reservations.

Also, we have more people coming along and meeting us on Christmas Day. DM friend is now coming with us. We are not sure if her husband will be able to go or if he will be stationed in Iraq by then, so he may or may not be coming. Also my dad's parents will be meeting us for Christmas. They don't really understand our love for Disney:confused3, so I am excited that they are willing to go. Who wouldn't be willing to go:confused3. They will be meeting us when we go to HS.

Since I've been talking about the college program, here are some pics from when DBF and I did our internship there.

DBF and I did the Disney College Program in the spring, we had a blast and made a lot of friends from all over the world that we still keep in touch with.

When you become a cast member you get a tour of the park you are working in. My tour was called Keys to the Kingdom and this is where the tour was:

My first time trying on my costume, can you guess where I worked?

When Disney decides to have a new parade, they have a couple of nights before the parade begins where they try it all out for practice in front of cast members and their families. We saw the Block Party Parade at 12am:cutie:

There are also alot of events for the Interns. DBF participated at the Hoop Fest and these were the hosts:

They also offer classes. I took a leadership class and on our last week our class was at MK.

Sorry for all the pics, I had to stop myself from posting more. My family also came to visit 3 times and wanted to visit even more. DBF's family visited twice. I guess thats what happens when you have free park hoppers and resort discounts:thumbsup2. Hope you enjoyed, this sure made me miss it.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
