A Happy Dog's Summer of Sea and Shore - *cough, cough, nudge nudge* 7/11

Plans sound great! I hope you have a wonderful view from your BLT studio. We had a night reserved there (MK view studio) for our December trip and had really been looking forward to watching the fireworks from the balcony, but our trip dates changed and we had to cancel that night. So, I'll be enjoying it vicariously through you guys instead. And top of the world lounge access sounds great, you must be renting points! Love the California Grill too!

Those staterooms on the Dream look so nice! I'm anxious to hear what the magic porthole is like!

popcorn:: C'mon, HD! I need an update to distract me from the house I should be cleaning.

Like wild dogs? :rotfl2: We could be the DIS Dogs! :lmao:

Well, here is your distraction!!!
AND YES... wild dogs... wild DISers.... ;) DIS Dogs, love it. Get me a T-shirt!! But we'd have to spell it DAWGs. ;) And wear our baseball hats (WDW of course) sideways...

You have a fun couple of adventures planned!
The inside staterooms on the Dream are beautiful! I love the virtual portholes.

Can't wait to read about your Dream and Vero plans.

I am excited to see what they are all about, too! It looks fun. The rooms look so inviting! I will post all about the big summer trip after I share all the details of our scouting expedition cruise!! ;)

20 days! :yay: I'm so excited for you. A relaxing day at BLT sounds perfect and score on the CG ADR!! Those inside staterooms look pretty roomy... can't wait to hear what you think of the real thing. And I'm super anxious to hear about the virtual porthole...sounds like such a cute idea!

By the way, how generous of you and DH to make the sacrifice to take this scouting trip so that the family can have more fun this summer. ;)

Oh I know, me too! I am looking forward to that day in particular! It should be fun... Oh yes, I am looking forward to CG!!!! :yay: I think the rooms are small, but well designed, so it will be interesting to see. The photo makes it look so BIG, but based on my experiences in the past, they can be tight, even with TWO people, so we'll have to see! I may try to upgrade our summer cruise room, I am a little concerned... we got Deluxe ocean view family, but no verandah... there is enough space, I think, but one size is a little bigger... no rooms right now, but they may open up as it gets closer to the cancellation date.

I KNOW aren't we the greatest parents????!!!! :rolleyes1 I mean it is a sacrifice to go away without our children, on a cruise in the Bahamas for four nights while they get to stay home and go to school... Seriously.

:lmao:

Oh I am excited for sure! My favorite highlight it will be! :goodvibes Yes, we are renting points. We have managed to meet a great owner who rents to us regularly. We own RCI and we can exchange RCI but only a week at a time, and that becomes more of a challenge if we just want to go for a night, etc... So we have tended to use RCI for other vacations - when we went to the Four Seasons in November, for instance. :thumbsup2 I think EVERYTHING is going to be great. I am looking forward to seeing the porthole, they say these are really cool! :goodvibes

Really looking forward to hearing all about your upcoming cruise. I am thinking of taking one next January - just DH and I - no kids. I think those inside porthole rooms look really cool.

HD, I think you guys should become DVC owners :rolleyes1

We're paying cash for our 3 nights at BCV (we don't want to borrow points) and looked into renting points. I don't know if I could trust random people on the Rent/Trade board. You're definitely much braver than I! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an AP rate for our dates in August.

How do you like the Passporter cruise guide? I bought the Birnbaum's guide and didn't find it too helpful.

Jennifer, it's a size m 7/8 from the Disney Store. Capt. Jack Sparrow. We took the hat on the cruise last year and Baylor wore it on Pirate's night but he informed me today that he didn't think he wanted to do that again....
So as soon as I locate the hat. I have the rest. I'll pack it up and send it if you think it will fit.

Aw... gee, thanks Anita!!! Yes! Most definitely! I know that Griff would have a great time dressed up! And so I will get Nolyn one to match, I have seen plenty! I can manage with just the costume, you know, if he wants to keep the hat in case? Maybe Marc ??!! That would be wonderful. Thanks so much!!!

We happen to be watching The Black Pearl right now!!!

The price cannot be beat in the winter! They do look cool, I think they are going to be really popular. The CM I spoke with on the cruise line said the inside and the suites are the first to be booked. I will take good notes!!! I did a TR for our three night getaway on the Wonder last year.

HA! I know I know, we have considered it, but I think right now we are doing fine with the rentals and with our RCI... I have never had any trouble renting. We have rented from several people and done well! :thumbsup2 I am sure there will be a good AP rate for August... they seemed to come up several times during the year when we had our passes... that is how we made it out in February on a whim!

The Passporter is MUCH better. I got that Birnbaum's guide for a stocking stuffer for DH last winter... not too much there, I agree. HOWEVER the passporter is filled with great info! I do have the 2009 and 2010 -- if you would like to check it out, until the new one comes, let me know --- I could give you my 2009! At least it is something to look at if you want before the new one in March! The 2010 only has "speculated" information, it isn't really about the Dream really, just adds some stuff, and adds the European itineraries.. let me know!

Ah, what good parents you are to check out the ship before the family trip!

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

That virtual porthole is super cool! It just makes the inside stateroom so much more appealing to me!

That view of the Magic Kingdom is going to be so cool! I would be glued to the window all night long, I think.

Those fake little portholes don't fool me one bit! :scared1:
:rotfl:
I want the President's room (or whatever you call a cruise ship room). A cabin?
I want it to be big
and very open
with a big balcony.

Or they can just let me sleep on a lounge chair on the deck, and I'm cool with that, too. :thumbsup2

I'm in!! You have so many fun things planned. I'm excited to join in and read all about the excitement. :goodvibes

I love the virtual portholes! I really enjoyed having the verandah....I remember sitting out there often but I think I could easily be swayed ;)

I think I might try for BLT in October when my 7 month window opens up...right now I am booked at Kidani and am fine with that. I think I have my niece convinced to stay at the "sandwich resort" as she calls it  I think it will be fun to stay on the monorail...or course I may also try BWV or BCV but those will most likely not happen due to F&W :upsidedow

Thank you!!! I preordered the 2011 Passporter. :rotfl2:

I definitely want to do a DCL cruise on the Dream or Fantasy. I also want to do a Med. cruise, but on RCL. I like their itinerary much better. Is that Dis blasphemy? :rotfl:

Looking really good so far, can't wait to hear all about it when you get back :) Those vitual portholes look a good addition to inside rooms, I have seen some of the videos that they play. Like you we plan on booking an oceanview for our family trip, on our two previous trips we had verandah but didn't like especially with DS, was way to nervous about him standing on the chairs and taking a wee peek!

R&R at the lounge on top of BLT then CG for evening dinner  Def my idea of heaven :cloud9: You'll need to post pics of your firework view.

Posting on PTR board was a good choice :thumbsup2

I know I know, we are good parents, aren't we?? I am looking forward to the view as well! It will be neat. We have never considered an inside room, but it seemed like it would be fun with this new element, and being only the two of us we decided to try it out!

I'd sleep in the steamer chairs on deck, too, MeMom!!! I think you are wanting the ROY or WALT Disney Suite... BIG and very luxurious!!! :cloud9:

This will be a wonderful trip getaway for sure! :thumbsup2

I have to admit we are curious!

Well, an Epcot resort makes sense, obviously, with the F&W, but BLT is really hip! Kidani was really relaxing though, so it is hard to say... being on the monorail does put you at the transport center, though, right?

Thank you!!! I preordered the 2011 Passporter. :rotfl2:

SO funny! I have to preorder it, too... I feel silly owning all three, but I want the new ship info!

No it isn't blasphemy! You pick what you like. :thumbsup2

THanks! I think the preview cruise will be great fun. I am looking forward to it! Just a few more weeks away!!! NO I don't see a verandah in our future for another year or two... Makes me nervous. The rooms on the Dream have huge portholes with seat benches inside!
